The upgrade of XE 10g to 11g XE... I must first upgrade Apex?

I am currently on 10g Express and thinking about upgrading to the new 11g Express.

Shooting Apex 3.2 in my 10g Express my application for production. I have to first upgrade Apex 4.1 until I update XE to 11g?

Thank you!
François

Hello

There is no need to upgrade the Apex. When you upgrade to 11G XE, your Apex is upgraded to version 4.
After database upgrade, you can improve the Apex to the 4.1 version, if you wish.

Jari

    KK,

When we install OBIEE 11 g, we run a repository creation utility (RCU) creates two schema called schema of metadata (MDS) and BIPLATFORM.
The planner of all associated tables were created in the BIPLATFORM schema.
If Enterprise Manager (EM) takes these patterns automatically and executes BI 11 g Planner services.
Connect with the BIPLATFORM schema in the data source. Here we can see the Scheduler tables S_NQ_JOB, S_NQ_INSTANCE, S_NQ_JOB_PARAM, S_NQ_ERR_MSG which are born already when we ran RCU related

  • Backup of the contexts in MRI (10g and 11g)

    Hello

We have a few customers concerned about the possibility of accidental deletion of a context and that it cannot be recovered. We understand that if we have a copy backup of the database, it could be reinstated at a point prior to the removal of the context. In this way, we could still have access to the documents sealed in this context. But apart from this solution, there is another mechanism that allows to recover the deleted context?

    Thank you.

    Interesting ideas Jiri.

By default, if you delete a frame in the IRM server, the only return is to restore a backup of the database.

  • The upgrade of database 10g to 11g with minimal downtime?

    Hi all

We want to improve our 10.2.0.4 RAC database for 11.2.0.3 linux linux RAC. We have two different servers, where one is the production server (10.2.0.4) and another is the 11.2.0.3 Server.

Here, we want to minimize downtime of the production database.

Our db size is close to 1 TB. If we turn to the traditional method of upgradation as given below, then it will take nearly 15 hours:

    1. take RMAN 10 g bkp.

    2. transfer to server 11 g.

    3. restore the db.

    4. set at the database level.

I had two methods to minimize the downtime that arise as follows, but I'm not sure that these means are feasible or not...

    1st method:

Our server of db source here is 10.2.0.4 and target db server is 11.2.0.3.

    1. create a DR on the target server. (10.2.0.4)

-Here we have installed the software (stand-alone) db to 10.2.0.4 on the target server, but also some 11.2.0.3 rac linux.

-All data of Dr. files will be filesystem (not on ASM).

Synchronize the database of production with the Dominican Republic.

    2. break the DR and turn it on.

3 close the db and move the datafiles of the DR to ASM storage (11.2.0.3)

    4. start PB with option upgrade and update.

It will take nearly 5 hours.

    2nd method:

-Install the software grid 11g and 10g and 11 g db Server db software target.

-We set up DR as first method but the grid HERE home will be 11 g and db House will be 10 g.

-Now we will synchronize the DR with data base of production.

-to activate the 10g database (target server)

-will restart the database 11g House and then we will modernize it.

Here I want to know that is it possible to create a DR with the following configuration?

Production DB is 10.2.0.4 and DR is configured with 11g grid and g 10 db House.

    Kindly give your entries...

    Kind regards

  • C2664 errors after the upgrade of client db 10g and 11g

Hi, after upgrading customer db 10g and 11g, the compiler gave errors error C2664:

    /************************************************************
    AddCxrCh.cpp (2071): error C2664: 'sqlglm': cannot convert parameter 1 from 'char' [513] in ' unsigned char *'
Types of art are not related. conversion requires reinterpret_cast, C style cast or function-style cast
    make: * [AddCxrCh.obj] error 2
    ************************************************************/

The same code was compiled correctly when you use the db 10g client. I know that I can easily correct this error by changing the code, but there is more than a sqlglm used instructions. I'm looking for a way that will solve the problem by changing the settings of the compiler.

    Thank you

    Hello

There is a change between 10g and 11g. It is described in "Oracle 11g Pro * C nsqlprep Sqlglm issues [ID 860382.1]". The document, you can find on Metalink, aka Oracle Support.

I run an instance of Oracle 10 g with Application Express 4.0.2.00.07.  I have 23 requests, which all of the custom images used throughout.

According to your experience, what is the best way to upgrade to 11 g 2 without having to rebuild all applications?  Is this possible?

  • The upgrade from 11g to 12 c

    Hello

We intend to improve our databases of 11g (11.2.0.3.11) to 12 c (12.1.0.2). We would like to know what are the steps that we need to upgrade the position.

    (1) all 11 g AWs automatically updated to 12 c? or do we rebuild US 11g AWs on 12 c after the upgrade? (We had to rebuild AWs after upgrading to 10g and 11g)

    (2) are there accessories performance in 12 c, which will apply to only AWS built on top of the 12 c?

    (3) we have an AW 10 g 11 g-based. Is it still compatible with 12 c AW?

    Thank you

    Dietsch.

    Hi dietsch,

    My answers are online.

    (1) all 11 g AWs automatically updated to 12 c? or do we rebuild US 11g AWs on 12 c after the upgrade? (We had to rebuild AWs after upgrading to 10g and 11g)

The upgrade from 11g to 12 c requires no AWs to rebuild.

    (2) are there accessories performance in 12 c, which will apply to only AWS built on top of the 12 c?

He might have a few new optimizations that have been incorporated into the version of 12 c of the AW you will not have access to until you rebuild the AW, but that does not prevent you from using the 11g version of the AW of 12 c.

    (3) we have an AW 10 g 11 g-based. Is it still compatible with 12 c AW?

Yes, 12 c is backward compatible with an AW 10 g.

In addition, once you upgrade it has some new features that you can use for OLAP.  The display below describe some of them.

    Hello

Weblogic server integration is needed in Jdeveloper for BPEL of 10g and 11g upgrade?

We migrated BPEL 10g and 11g. I understand that this integrated weblogic server is part of jdeveloper.

Integration of weblogic server allows successful simulation of the weblogic Server real 11g which we installed as a separate product?

or should we connect jdeveloper to weblogic server 11g instead of the integrated weblogic Server?

    Please notify.

    Thank you

No, built-in weblogic server is not necessary in jdeveloper for bpel upgrade.

If you are migrating bpel go separate domain and weblogic/managed servers, don't use integrated weblogic.

  • Upgrade to DB 10g and 11g

    Hi guys,.

    Current version: 10.2.0.5
    Target Version: 11.2.x.x

I intend to improve my DB from 10g to 11g.
Before the actual upgrade, I can create a test 11 g environment.

I've read a few articles and understand the following concepts
1 create a set of tuning in current 10 g to capture plan and the performance of the sql execution statistics
2 export the setting of 10 g and 11 g SQL import base
    3 export all data to 10 g and 11 g
4 to 11 g database, consider whether there is a best execution plan and accept

For my scenario here, my test 11g environment is not all applications server conneecting to it.
For my 11g generate other plans, the sql should be run at least once in 11g. As there could be a number of SQLs captured in the tuning set, how I run everything manually (via sql * more) because I did not have a request to call him?

In fact, my main goal here is to compare the execution between 10g and 11g plan. Already from 9i and 10 g, I have actually generate version manually sql execution plan and compare manually.
