The user desktop and Favorites icons back - view Horizon 6.2

Hi all

We use Persona management to manage user profiles for our automated floating office pools. Users are entitled to more than one office pool and they connect to a VDI session at the same time be disconnecting it. We'll have a strange problem where the user desktop icons go back and the Favorites icon to reproduce if a user tries to delete or reorganize them. I understand Persona management does not support several concurrent sessions to the same profile and if more than one session is detected, it passes in read-only mode, during which no changes is uploaded to the network. However, in our scenario users are disconnected and connection and then to another office pool so there is only a single session per user at any time. However, the changes they make in any of these sessions are merged and duplicated. I made sure there is enough time between log off / process so that profiles are synchronized over the network.

All the world is facing this problem?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Loc.

If you did the concurrent session connection (connect on several desktop computers at the same time using the same user), then Persona does not support it.

Unknown results can occur.

Best regards

Evelyne

  • Lost all my shortcuts on the desktop and cannot get back them!

Whenever I turn on my laptop, my living room of shortcuts for a few seconds, when the office, then they disappear forever once that it has finished loading!  This has happened for a few weeks now and I don't know how to fix it.  Also, when I right click on any program and try to send it on the desktop as a shortcut, it does not work, nothing happens! I tried to restore to a couple different points before the last windows update, and that didn't work either.  I also run full antivirus scans, etc & still nothing.  Help please! I want my shortcuts back!

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  I hope you have a point to rstore dating back that far.

If this does not work, go to start / computer / C:\Users\\desktop (and you may also go to C:\Users\All Users\Bureau) and see if they contain elements of your desktop.  If so, copy all files and paste them on your desktop.  You can probably rearrange, but who should return them.

If this does not work, your user profile may be corrupted.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  If that is the only available Administrator Profile (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055.  If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation.  Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • How can I remove the user name and the image of Windows XP new Start Menu

    Two questions:

    1. How can I delete the user name and the image of Windows XP new start; and

    2. my computer keeps asking me to press the F1 key to start Windows.  How to skip this part?

    Thank you.

    Hello

The image of user account can be removed by disabling the Welcome screen. Or, by opting for the classic Windows theme. Follow the method described in this article, if you want to remove the user name and the picture in the Start Menu, without disabling the Welcome screen and Windows XP theme.

For those who want to delete the user name and the image of user account from the Start Menu, in order to have a blue white Panel at the top, try this:

    Registry warning
Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

    Step 1:

    a. start Windows Explorer and go to this folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account images

    b. in this folder, rename the BMP file that corresponds to your user account.

(For example, if your user name is Robert, rename Robert.bmp to old_Robert.bmp)

    c. then rename the following folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\Default pictures

    to something else, for example,.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\No_Default images.

    Step 2:

To remove the user name, follow these steps

    a. Click Start, click "RUN" and type "regedit.exe" and navigate to this key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Windows Microsoft\------CurrentVersion-policies-Explorer

    b. in the right pane, the value NoUserNameInStartMenu-value data 1.

    c. close Regedit.exe and restart Windows.

You'll find yourself with a blue area at the top of the Start Menu.

Regarding the pressing 'F1' to start Windows, you have made no changes or was there a system crash after which the problem started?

You may need to change the boot sequence in the BIOS to the default settings. I recommend you contact your PC vendor for this.

    Warning of the BIOS:
BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Programs on the user account and the lost files

Hi all, yesterday I came home after having some holidays and started my pc and when I chose my user, all my files and programs have disappeared, even my wallpaper was by default... So I went to: C:\Documents and Settings\(my user) \desktop and everything was there, so I moved all my important things for the user 'new '... Today, when I chose my user, I go to my former user, with all my stuff and my old wallpaper, but the things that I moved just disappeared... I need help, these things that I've lost are really important...

    Not good.

You initially suffered a corrupted profile.  When this happens, Windows compensates by logging in with a temporary profile that is deleted when you disconnect you.  What you should do at this point is presented in one of the following articles:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"
    or, Alternatively,.
"How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile"

What you did instead was to move all your data in your temporary profile that is deleted when you disconnect.  You must be disconnected, that's what happened.  Files passed.  So, your best alternative is to this point to restore your files from your backups.  ('Very important' things are always saved).

If you have no backups, then you learn now why they are needed.  You should immediately stop using your computer/drive, remove the drive and take it to a professional that can recover deleted files.  You can also (on another computer), you can search the Web for programs that can be used to recover deleted files accidentally.  Sorry, but I can offer no recommendation on such programs.

    Sorry and HTH.

    Hello

    Reinstall vista

I'm sorry, but the strategy of microsoft in these forums is that without assistance will be given about lost or forgotten passwords

read the policy at the link below

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-security/keeping-passwords-secure-Microsoft-policy-on/a5839e41-b80e-48c9-9d46-414bc8a8d9d4

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • When you try to create the new thread in a discussion forum, the browser closes and I'm back in the office.

I tried to create a new thread in a Discussion forum.  Closing the browser window and I was back on the desktop.  I did a system restore, which not only does not solve the problem, but deleted my internet security software.  Has worked with people of tendency to reinstall the software, but I get a message tht says: «Unable to extract the installer...» ».  I have a class of the internet this week and I need this computer.  Can someone please?

You can undo the last restoration of the system using: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76256-system-restore-undo.html.  This may fix your problem with security software that has uninstalled when you did the system restore (using a date that probably existed before the installation of trend).  I don't know if it works now that you have done other things to try to reinstate the program, but it's worth a try.  I sincerely doubt that this process could help with the problem of browser (and there not so undo it reverses your efforts).

You use Internet Explorer?  If so, please repost your question in Forum Internet Explorer: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads where the IE specialists will be more than happy to help you with your problem.

If you are using another brand of browser, please repost your question in the Forum program: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/threads where experts in programs other than Vista or IE will be more than happy to help you with your problem.  You can also try to go to the web site of the Explorer and contacting their technical support staff (or post on a forum if they support a).

Only trend can help you with installation problems you encounter through their program.  Perhaps it didn't uninstall completely during the restoration of the system.  Check if the trend has a removal tool and use it to uninstall the program, then try to re - install again.  If this does not work, you will need to work with their technical support to solve the problem.

    I hope this helps.

I forgot the login information to get me into windows; the user name and the password.  Is there a way to get back to windows.

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)

Hello. I don't use my thunderbird email in a long time and can't remember my user name or password if I remember my email address. How can I connect?

Your user name is all or part of your e-mail address.
The user name and the password is given with your email provider. You need to communicate with them.
Most providers have a password reset link on their page for help by e-mail.

  • message: configuration cannot be verified - is the user name and password? None of them are wrong. I'm trying to set up my work email. How to solve the thi

I have been using Thunderbird for a long time. One day he told me that my password is incorrect. After several attempts, the correct password decided to remove the e-mail account and start to charge. Now, when I put the account it says "configuration could not be verified - is the user name and password? None of them are wrong. I tried to change the password, contact my email provider and everything works fine except when trying to use Thunderbird. The email that I had tried to set up is at work. Any help in fixing this will really appreciate it.

The best suggestion is to get the correct settings from your provider. They move to the top of their servers. They know the settings that work.

message "SIM failure" of "no SIM".  1st time it happened I turned the phone off and turned it back on and it was OK.  It happened again, and this time cut off and back on does not the phone is working correctly.  Cannot make or receive calls.  Nothing has ever changed with my carrier.

First get a replacement SIM from your operator. If this does not fix it you have a hardware problem.
