The Virtual Console connection failure

PE R410 with iDRAC6 Enterprise.

I use Firefox on Windows Vista. When I click on "Launch Virtual Console", a pop-up window wonder what should make Firefox of the JNLP file. If I choose to open it with Java Web Start, an error message "Splash: recv failed" is displayed. So I choose Save the JNLP file and then create a Windows shortcut with

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaws.exe" "-Xnosplash" "D:\Temp\Rconsole\saved.jnlp".

When I click on this shortcut, a window with the message "Connecting to Virtual Console Server" appears, then another window slow "failed to connect, perhaps because of the network connection. Please try again ".

The above method works with redirection to console of Sun ILOM (also to be downloaded/opened by Java Web Start JNLP file). The difference is that the version of the Sun can ask for name of user and password not everything in a Dell. IDRAC6 Video Viewer of Dell has the askpass function?

I tried with Windows IE9. However, the open video viewer of IE9 does not have a keyboard input. Click on "Tools - Options Session' fails to open the options window (nothing happens after the click) - result of IE9 uses Active X not Java?"

I also tried with Firefox under RHEL6 / x 86, that one works perfectly.

Configure the video active encryption = No to iDrac. Solved my problem

  • Failed to launch the virtual console DRAC6 Express, error connection failed

Hi I have mulitple R610 Dell servers that I have configured the DRAC on.

I can log on to the DRAC and I everything works apart from the Virtual Console.

When I try to run it I get an error "Failed to connect" immediately, I added the ip address of the DRAC explorers trusted Internet-Sites and all active x controls enabled.

Can anyone tell what else to try, I also read another article on Virtual Console does not work on DRAC 6 Express is this correct?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Tommycni,

Support of virtual console is not given for DRAC6 Express. If, you need to support virtual console, you must install an AMEA map on the server. For more details, please contact Dell Technical Support.

  • iDRAC6 connection failed trying to connect to the Virtual Console

    Hi all -

I have built an ESXi 4 host and setting up the DRAC.  I can get to the DRAC and cruise around in there, but when I try to launch a virtual console, I get connection failed.  Any idea on why I can't get the console to launch?  Thank you in advance.

Thanks for posting!  Usually, if the console launches, the ActiveX plugin is not installed, or ports 5900 and 5901 are blocked.  If you do not download the ActiveX plugin, do the DRAC, a trusted site and then set this box to allow all ActiveX activity without asking for confirmation.  If you think that the port can be blocked, connect a cable modem directly Simulator on the DRAC, and try to connect from a system directly connected to the DRAC.

  • ESX using the Remote Console connection

    Hello everyone.

I need your advice about connecting to ESX using the remote console.

When I try to connect to using the remote console ESX vsphere Client, sometimes borrowed is broken. then I try to find out what is happening.

It seems that gateway setting which is the cause of connection page. The failure of connection every time, gateway ESX is different from the vsphere client gateway.

Are there requirements when connecting ESX using the remote console, like ESX gateway should be corresponding to gateway of vsphere client or something...

    {I would appreciate any information, THNAK I YOU: 8}

Remember that the bridge will depend on the network, the device is turned on - so if your ESX server and the computer running the vSphere client are on the same network then yes they should have the same gateway.

    Hi guys,.

I am trying to determine if the rate of data transmission between virtual machines connected to the same virtual switch is equivocal to 10 GB ethernet or faster.

If it's the same vSwitch in the same ESX, should be the speed of the bus

  • Is it possible I can get the virtual computer connectivity after restart to connect to the local network in the host operating system?

    Hi all

For some reason, I have to disable and then enable the LAN connection in the host operating system. If some virtual machines are running during this time, connectivity all VMs for out-of-world are lost, they cannot connect to the host even more (by running the ping command). I tried a few methods to retrieve the connectivity, but all have failed, for example,

    1. reboot the virtual computer

    2. restart VMware Workstation

    3. restart the corresponding system services in the host operating system

The only way I can retrieve all is to restart the host operating system itself.

Yes, is there short any path, I can retrieve the connectivity of these virtual machines?

    Thanks in advance.

I use a Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet NIC, shows the date of the pilot 2006-5-15, but it works well, I think.

Try installing a newer driver.  According to the site, you should be able to find a driver dated 2008 or 2007 (depending on which exact model of NetLink card you have):

1 came out of safe guard 360

Sometimes out of some firewall programs is not enough (they keep still themselves installed in the network of the host stack, even if they are 'closed').  You may need to uninstall to make sure that it is not interfere.  (Search the forums for support for your firewall software see if anyone else is having problems with vmware and 360 safe guard).

  • vCAC 6 - How to tie a CD-ROM in the virtual console?

    Hi all (me again).

I created a basic Bluprint to create an empty VM. I add the property "VirtualMachine.CDROM.Attach" true (screenshot attached), but when I opened the console the two only options are "Send CTRL + ALT + DELETE" and "toggle fullscreen" (screenshot attached).

How can I join a CD-ROM to install an operating system or any other application?

    Thank you very much

    D.

    Hi all

I was able to partially solve this.

In order to mount a CD-ROM, we configure Orchestrator and use the workflow to "Mount the CD-ROM" as a new 'Action' in the vCAC. I did it and it works perfectly.

The only problem is that only can mount ISO vcenter catalog and not from the client computer files.

In fact, now I can create new workflows in Orchestrator build lots of 'Actions' for virtual machines. It's really cool!

  • How to find the virtual machine connected to a partical card RAW LUN.

    Hello

I love RAW map of LUN that I connected to several virtual machines on different hosts.

Its been a very long time. Now, I don't remember which VM is connected to the LUN of my RAW card.

I have a lot number of VM on each HOST so that it will take enormous time to search manually.

Is anyway find VM connected to my RAW LUN map.

    Hello.

RVTools will work.  Look under the tab vDisk path information.

    Good luck!

  • Can not power up the virtual computer after failure of storage

An error was received from the ESX host turning on VM myvm. Cannot create the file ' / vmfs/volumes/53309937-d077e300-a76c-0025b51a12ae/myvm/vmx-CDCSA1-805443817-1.vswp ': host no is not a newspaper could not start VMX: msg.vmk.status.VMK_NO_JOURNAL

Restart the ESX host solved the problems.  Restart all services did not help.  Air data warehouses / ReadOnly.  VMotion would hang up on VM associated with these stores of data so that means a failure, forcing the host to restart.

  • Who is looking at my virtual machine using the VSphere Console at the same time?

    People,

I would like to know if it is possible to know what VI Client / vSphere console user currently displays the Vmware console at the same time for a particular virtual machine I'm working on?
Because right now, someone else is my VM console access and may have forgotten to close the VI Client and now I'm stuck.

This is the error that I got when I try to connect to the console. Internal error MKS due to the 'RemoteDisplay.maxConnections with a value of 1"is in force.

    Thank you

    Hello, AlbertWT-

Well, it seems that there is another way.  You can get the number of current connections of MKS (mouse keyboard screen) for the given virtual machine and uses this value to your Select statement.  Which must correspond with the users with current MKS connections to this virtual machine.

So, what to put with what hosted proposed and you changed, it would be like:
$strVMName = "myVM"## get VM; will use an ExtensionData value from this later$vm = Get-VM -Name $strVMName## get the events that are for console connects, sort, and then select the first X items, based on the number of current MKS connectionsGet-VIEvent $vm | ? {$_.FullFormattedMessage -like "Remote console Connected*"} | Sort CreatedTime -Descending | Select UserName, CreatedTime -First $vm.ExtensionData.Summary.Runtime.NumMksConnections | ft -AutoSize

And, a variation on the last line, the one who checks the type of the VIEvent (vs do a string comparison):
    ## same, but check the event type instead of a string compare on the FullFormattedMessage (just to not rely on string compares)Get-VIEvent $vm | ? {$_ -is [VMware.Vim.VmRemoteConsoleConnectedEvent]} | Sort CreatedTime -Descending | Select UserName, CreatedTime -First $vm.ExtensionData.Summary.Runtime.NumMksConnections | ft -AutoSize

The two should work, but the second version removes the dependency on the string comparison.  For example, if the FullFormattedMessage changes in the future implementations of vSphere, things should still work (However, this would be still vulnerable to break if VMware changed the name of the type of the event).  A bit of a preference thing.

    How does do for you?

Note: by sorting on Createduserid, this process assumes that the current console connections have been made in the order.  In other words, if someone has been connected to the console of the virtual machine since yesterday and connect / disconnect / reconnect, _you_ will be the last two events Connect.

  • find virtual machines connected to several groups of ports

I am able to find a list of the virtual machines connected to a specific port quite easily.

    Get - VM | where {(Get-NetworkAdapter-VM $_ |)} (Select-expandProperty NetworkName) -eq "Network A"}

I'd like to find computers virtual that are connected to multiple networks, except that I don't want not selected.

I want a list of virtual computers that connect to the network but not connected to "Network A" and "Network B".

The inverse of the one-liner above returns the same VM

    Get - VM | where {(Get-NetworkAdapter-VM $_ |)} (Select-expandProperty NetworkName) -don't "Network B"}

    Thank you

    Something like that maybe

    Get - VM | where {$nets = @(Get-NetworkAdapter-VM $_ | % {$_.NetworkName}); $nets. {Count - eq 1 - and $nets - contains "Network A"}
