The Windows show Event ID 264 WARNING logs

Hello

Our report of customer that there is a single newspaper waring in the windows logs. Please check the message below.

The OS is windows 8.

------------------------------------------------------------

Log name: System
Source: Win32k
Date: 13/06/2013 18:18:02
Event ID: 264
Task category: no
Level: WARNING
Keywords: Classic
User: n/a
Computer: test
Description:
A multi touch reported coordinated incompatible device.

------------------------------------------------------------

But

(1) the multi touch device passed the WHCK. And,

(2) we have also double check it the hid descriptor device. Device to control the Microsoft tool descriptor "digitizer report DescriptorChecker.

I know that there are many cell phones have the same problem. But nobody has the solution for this.

MSFT has solution for this or any other test tool that can help to find the cause root? Since the log is created by system and our device alreay check our all the functions declared in the hid descriptor. We do not know why the waring appear.

Once MSFT response the issue of 264 event id with the following returns information.

MSFT: it can refer to the firmware. For example, firmware claims it can withstand 2 contacts, but in fact it shows 5 contacts.

But we do not find the bad part of our hidden device report descriptor, and device alreay spend WHCK.  Given that many other phones have the same problem, I think is not easy root cause guess by checking our own firmware. Hope MSFT can check this issue and to provide more information.

The description of event id 264:
A multi touch reported coordinated incompatible device.

We need a more "specific" reason the warning log.

Best regards

How to diagnose in the event log error... pls help.

Here are some notes on the event viewer reports that can help you. When you have a lot of mistakes, you need to focus on system errors and warnings, even if it's the applications that are giving you grief. Problems with the first sorting system can do the easier application problems. Note the time that the computer is started last and deal first with those at the beginning of the boot. Correct previous errors can be solved later.

    1. normally, when an error occurs on your computer looking in Event Viewer should be your starting point to find a solution. More related system errors are recorded and get an exact copy of the relevant report is important. Unfortunately, is not easy to understand reports and most of the users computer need help with their interpretation. I have to say later interpretation.

2 Event Viewer includes three main newspapers of Windows. Here's the Application, security, and system. For purposes of troubleshooting system is by far the most important.

    3. to access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs. Place the cursor on the system, right click and select filter current log. Check the front of the error and click OK and see you only reports errors. Click the Date and time column header to sort. You may need to click a second time to see the last report above.

    4. a tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. Click the button copy on the general tab allows you to place a copy in the Clipboard and close Event Viewer. Now start your message and paste it into the body of the message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    5. He cautioned against three types of reports, information, and reports errors. In most situations, it is the error reports that offer the best information but sometimes WARNING reports provide useful clues.

    6. all reports have stamps date and hour and when troubleshooting, it is important to focus on the latest reports. Reports of studies from the point when the computer is started, and then check if a similar report appeared in the previous session. If errors do not repeat investigation as to why they happen is wasted effort.

    7. in the individual reports the most important information is the event ID and Source such as these help when looking for help on the internet. The description is just as important and copy the exact text to use as search criteria greatly helps achieve better results when using Google. Not paraphrase descriptions when other people asking for help.

Please, anyone can help as I don't know what to do? I am running Vista to the Windows Welcome page
I am the administrator and I have no other computers attached to my laptop?
I use the same USB port to connect to internet, but recently, I had to try another USB port I get the above error message.
I have no idea how to do to correct the situation and would appreciate guidance step by step.
    Thank you.

    Hi RDCICON,

    1. which device you are connected to the USB port?

    2. you still get the same message when you connect the usb device or use the device on another computer?

    Method 1:

You can try to run the tool built into Vista Network Diagnostics. To do this, click Start, go to network and select network share.

On the left side of the window select the diagnosis and repair.
It should help to find which device is listed with the duplicate IP address.

Method 2: Release and renew the IP address by following these steps.

    a. Click Start. Click Run, type cmd, press ENTER.

    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER

    ipconfig/release

    ipconfig / renew

    Method 3:

If the DHCP client service is not running, then set it to autostart. Steps to set the auto service:

    a. click the Start button

    b. type services.msc in the search box.

    c. search for DHCP client and set it to automatic and make sure that it is started.

  • How to get the dimensions of the area within the window of the scene?

    Hello

I am able to get the size of a window using stage.getWidth () and stage.getHeight (), which gives the dimensions of the window, including the border. But how the size of the dimensions within the window, which is the area inside the border of the window?

I had created a way to understand this by calculating the difference between the sides of my initial scene and my step. I called this window filling, which is essentially the thickness of the border on the sides and up and down.

This method of calculation for available surface area in a window is not reliable when a window is maximized, because the thickness of the border of the window shrinks when enlarged. And if your stage size is larger than your scene, then you will get a wrong value.

There must be a way to get this area. I need it to do correctly scaling.

    Thank you
    Jose

I did it by adding a 'master' component to the stage

    mainScene = new scene (masterPane, 430, 430);

The master component is just a container that contains all the content but will resize the window resize event and therefore will always have the right width and height.

    masterPane = new Pane();
    masterPane.getChildren () .add (root);

Due to that you can resize your content based on

    Double screenWidth = masterPane.getWidth ();
    Double screenHeight = masterPane.getHeight ();

Here is an example. You can zoom (scrollwheel), pan (click and drag) and Center + scale on the screen (middle button) (only if the content is a square, there is a bug if the content is greater than the width, which I had no time to eliminate now but you get the point)

  • computer does not start after the Windows XP logo window

    Windows xp home edition
    service pack 2
    Dell inspiron 1501

    1. computer does not start after the Windows XP logo window
2 works well in safe mode, even connect to the external monitor
    3. I reinstalled xp many times, problem stil exist.

    All the answers?

    Hi dhanushm,

    1. What happens after the Windows logo screen?
    2. You receive an error message?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. Have you performed an installation clean Windows XP and even after that this problem exists?

    Method 1

As the computer starts up fine in safe mode there is a possibility that some third-party programs installed on the computer is the origin of the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

  • Add the windows firewall with the security log for windows 2008 Event Viewer

    Hi all

I would like to see weather which is turn on the Windows or turn OFF firewall and at what time on Windows 2008.

As what I had checked, I could see this on Windows 7 (Event Viewer/Applications and Services/Logs/Microsoft/Windows/Windows Firewall With Advanced Security/Firewall), but this does not show on Windows 2008.

Is anyway to add this in Windows 2008?

    Your help is very appreciated.

  • Windows connection problems and "Windows could not log in the Windows Event Service.

September 14, 2014, I installed the hotfix for Windows (KB2590550).

When I try to log on to a standard user account (not Admin), I would get an error that might say something like "Windows could not connect to the Windows Service Service event".  I click OK and then get a totally blank screen showing on the arrow of the mouse (which can be moved).

Around this same time, when I was able to connect, I got a "not genuine Windows" pop up.  My windows 7 came factory-installed by Dell (Dec. 2011) and I got no re-imaging, re - install or repair since I got the computer.  I've also been running Symantec Endpoint Protection (version DoD) for 2011 as well.

When I login as administrator (different account), I get an error "Failed to connect to the Windows Event Service" or something like it in a control bar bubble popup.

I studied the Knowledge Base, and he said to apply the patch to KB2590550.

Since then, the question is still common and works (sometimes) when I reset the password for the standard user.  In addition, all updates of the operating system, patches, etc. have failed since then.

Now, I get occasional blue screens immediately as windows starts to load (just after the initial windows graphics) which triggers a reboot.

    Service Pack 1 is installed.

    Help, please!

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the issue.

If the problem still persists I suggest to run the SFC scan to check the integrity of the system and see what it finds.

The sfc/scannow (System File Checker) command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

We can check & repair missing and corrupt files by the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
    2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
    3. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

  • VB6 DLL is not log messages in the Windows Server 2003 event log when it is called from an ASP page

    Hi all

I have an ASP web application, I will create a "VBModule1" (VB6 Dll) instance of an ASP page and inside this method of "VBModule1" I create an instance of another VB6 Dll 'VBLogger', who calls App.LogEvent () to write messages to the event log.

I tested the Web application on the develepoment (XP) machine and everything worked fine but when the user runs the Web application on the Production Server (windows server 2003) events are not saved.

Friend missing the security settings of my ASP web app that needs to be configured on Windows Server 2003 for VB6 DLLs logging events?

Please think as soon as POSSIBLE.

IIS on Windows server 20003 version: 6.0

    Thank you.

  • The event log shows event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1

Intermittent crashes. The event log shows event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1. How can I find this device? This is probably a hardware problem?

I look at intermittent crashes, where my cursor becomes an hourglass and the system does not yet meet the ctrl-alt-delete.  In the case of a newspaper, I find

Event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.

How can I determine which physical devices this is associated?  This indicates a hardware problem, or driver or firmware may be the source? The system has worked very well for a few years.  I'm not aware of any change in software that took place recently, although I have had by force, remove and reinstall iTunes earlier.

I run SMART on all players controls and run diagnostics.  I ran chkdsk on the one I found the culprit, but not mistakes.

Just in case it was a deadlock linked to memory, I tried to use the Diagnostics memory Microsoft on floppy, but it would not write on the disk (even if I could format and copy the files freely).

    Hello

Go to your configuration and see which drive is for each port; 1,2,3,4...

Then go to the Device Manager and look at how many SATA controller you have and how many ports for each, then start count from 0 to IdePort0, 1, 2, etc. for each SATA controller, so if you have 4 ports for each SATA controller, here is how you came from:

    IdePort0 1 -, 2 - IdePort1, 3 car - IdePort2 and road 4 - IdePort3 in the order of road by car

    I hope it helps

  • Treatment of the Windows event log

Log Insight is able to ingest a Windows Server logs in the Windows event log format?  Or do I have the event logs Windows can be converted to syslog so that Insight Log to treat them?

    Thank you!

Or - the Windows Event Viewer is not really a format - it's more of a database. LI ingests events event viewer, but it does not convert in syslog. The result is similar to what you see on WIndows - see attachment.

  • Disable the use of the Windows event log

Hello everyone. Thank you in advance for help.

Is there a way to disable the Oracle of Scripture in the Windows event log? Or at the very least, ignore errors resulting from Oracle not be able to write to them?

    -Arik

In windows when AUDIT_TRAIL = OS, verification of documents are written in the same newspaper. Changing this setting to DB if you want to not audit records to be written to the event viewer. Also no matter what your SYSTEM operations will be written to the event log even if your audit_trail is set to DB. You can disable auditing of sys setting AUDIT_SYS_OPERATIONS = false
