Then 4.6 Hyperic to monitor a remote FTP service?

Our company sometimes has problems with an FTP client.  Sometimes we cannot authenticate, and sometimes authenticate us but cannot transmit files.

I set up an FTP service on the platform (linux, server) already allows us to FTP files to this customer.  I have configured the service with the IP address of the client's server and the name of user and password used for the test.  Availability is always 0% (or a "!") and said response time 'Metric data not available', yet it metrics records from time to time for all incoming connections, WORKBENCH and same State FIN_WAIT2 State.

Am I headed in the right direction?  My TI colleagues want availability at least (authentication) of the system remotely and at most confirm file transfers work.  (The last part, I think to have to schedule test jobs who receive files in a test file, so this file/folder for monitoring changes.)

On 29.11.2012, at 14:26, rwmastel [email protected]> wrote:

If the counters, including availability, are specific to the local host, rather than the remote host specified in the configuration of the service, then how do I think the metric for the remote server?  Is this possible?

Sorry, there was a misunderstanding: availability and response time are associated with the actual trial Hyperic done by connecting to the remote host.

What about monitoring file transfers, I have not tried but I thought a script would have to FTP autour files and Hyperic should be able to control the files as they appear.  If this is the best test, then maybe I should work on this issue from this angle.

Definitiely would be a way to do it. And if you want to monitor end-to-end, including file transfer itself, it's the way that I recommend.

running web servers Sun there is no apache httpd process. So what can I follow
    or how?

OK, so the process we want to monitor is webservd.  Using the PTQL, to get the process we want to, the statement would be something like...

    State.Name.eq = webservd, State.Name.Peq = webservd

(This means look for a process named "webservd", of which the parent process is also called "webservd")

Then in Hyperic, go to the platform you have the Sun Java Web server is running on.  Go in the upper right and click on the 'Tools' button and choose 'new Service platform.  Put something like "Sun Java Webserver" for the name and type in the box 'Type of Service' to the 'process '.  Click on 'Ok '.

(Note: this will not work if there is more than 1 process of kids running with webservd.)  If you have more than 1 child to webservd process, you'll want to specify the service as "MultiProcess" rather than just "process." )

This will dump you to a new screen.  Click on the gray bar that says: "properties of Configuration.  It will extend.  Click on 'change '.  Then in the box labeled "process.query", the input line:

    State.Name.eq = webservd, State.Name.Peq = webservd

Click 'OK' to save it.  It must now start the monitoring service and get some basis for this performance data.

    I hope this helps.

LRM keeps the value of active LRM in the form of a key in the LDAP database(Calabrio's). And all the services/clients use this key to determine which server LRM, they have to connect to.

Then when the VoIP LUN SS is looking for this key in it is the own Server LDAP database and is unable to connect to this server in the key, this means that it is either the IP address of the IP address of inactive server(Slave's) LRM or they have problems of network/firewall connection between the two servers.

Could be several reasons such as questions in the data base LDAP, no update of CVD, or simple connectivity problems.

For the moment, do the following step by step:

    1) Restart the LRM service on the Master Node(Node 1)

    2) Restart the LRM service on the Slave Node(Node 2)

    3) Restart the LDAP Monitor on the Master Node

    4) Restart the LDAP Monitor on the Slave Node

    5) Restart the CCX Engine on the Master Node. (Note, this will failover the mastership from the Node 1 to Node 2)

    6) Once the Engine is up on Node 1, restart the CCX Engine on the Node 2 to fail the mastership back to Node 1

This should ensure that the key to the address of the Active Server LRM is reset in the nodes (no problem in cardiovascular disease, on the other, you must restart the server after you complete the steps above considering).

  • Unable to see the Collections in remote desktop Services in Server Manager

It doesn't seem to be a category for Windows Server for some reason, so I apologize if this is in the wrong category:

We recently had an administrator leave our of the it group, and he was the one who had set up our fund services / remote server.  Recently, we wanted to deploy another remote application and found that we were not able to see the "Collections" option in the server in remote desktop services manager.  The only option listed is "servers".  However to reactivate the account administrator and the server like him gave us all permissions to see the option of Collections and to deploy another remote application.

My question would be, this is a policy of setting Group / somewhere that is limiting the other users of the full access to Office services in Server Manager remotely.  I looked everywhere on the server (and google) to see if I could find where this setting is vain.  Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

We have recently updated our server RDP to the server 2012R2 and installed the remote desktop Services. There is no problem to connect to it internally and externally the Windows 7 machines are able to connect once we install the updates of the following two:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2574819

The problem is with the external Vista machines. They can connect to the original web interface (remote.xxxxxx.ca) and they see the Remote Desktop tab RemoteApps server and workstations, but clicking on the link just puts them in a loop "enter your credentials. Nothing in Event Viewer that I choose to see what he's blocking me. None of group policy or NPS that I can see which could block access.

As mentioned earlier, internally a Vista machine works very well, outwardly this same machine won't be able to connect. No problem at all with Windows 7 or 8/8.1

Can anyone help me please with this problem?

    Hi Erikkoken,

You will also need to know the external IP address of your location.  You can find it at http://www.whatismyip.com/.  My internet service provider gives me a dynamic IP address, so it will change every 24 hours.  To resolve this problem, I have install dynamic host for me to http://www.dyndns.com/name.  You will also need to read the instruction manual for router for DDNS, so you can tell it where to point to and update the IP address.

    I hope this helps.
