  There is no such thing as software delivered to nine. What do you mean exactly?

  If you buy a commercial legitimate version of XP, Microsoft certainly will allow you to use it. If you buy UNUSED legit version of XP OEM, Microsoft will allow you to use it, too.

  The problem is that, since you are buying something that is no longer supported, there is no guarantee that you will find something legitimate. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unscrupulous software illegitimate hawking there.

  Why not use Windows 7? Some versions of Windows 7, even allow you to run a virtual XP instance.

  Check your Adobe account online.  If you have registered the software version should be shown there.

  Never share your serial number publicly... anyone can use it.
