  You can try the following and link methods under each method for more information on the same and see if one of them solve the problem.

  Method 1: Start the computer in last good known Configuration

   

  1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

  Click the button start , click the arrow next to the button lock , then click on restart.

  1. Do one of the following:

  ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

  ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.

  1. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select last good known Configuration and press ENTER.
  2. If your computer has multiple operating systems installed, use the arrow keys to select the operating system that you want to start using the last good known Configuration, and then press ENTER. Windows will then resume starting normally.

  Method 2: Start your computer in Mode safe

   

  1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

  o If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears.   o If your computer has multiple operating systems, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode and press F8.

  3. in the display Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select the option of safe mode you want and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

  4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

  When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of the screen. To leave safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

  There are a number of possible reasons, your computer may run slowly - virus infection or malware, missing to defragment the hard drive, too many programs loading at startup - and all with different causes / solutions. So here goes:

  To get there, press the windows key and type in "features " without the quotes and then click on "turn on or off windows features ". "" In the window that appears, you should games and next to it a button "+". Go ahead and click the button "+". You should see Chess titans here. If it is unchecked then go ahead and check it and click OK when you are finished. It should appear in the Games folder in the start menu and Explorer games now.   I checked the reported compatibility list, and the game is listed as compatible.  Work in 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7?  I will try to reinstall the game, if you did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 recently.  If it is a new installation and does not, please visit the EA's Web site to get the latest patch for the game to see if that helps address your problem.  Let me know if you've done all that and you still have questions, and we can try something else.

  If so, the Vari-Bright feature must be on. To fix this, go to:

I had a laptop computer of a person who had the power led, wifi turned on, the battery on but no light on HD LED. the screen was all black whitout messages, I have attached the laptop screen nested to be sure that the screen was not damaged. but on extern screen the laptop screen was still dead. so I didn't know that the screen was not the problem, the only thing I thouthg to replace HD with nested one (of the same type) so I did but problem stiil exist.   It could be the BIOS, but I bet it's more likely that the video card is broken and no longer send any signal.  A BIOS would have normally caused a beep or something.

  Usually, when we see problems during shutdown, the cause is something that loads at startup.
