Thin black line

Hello world

I have a PSC 2355 & when I print a document from the page-filling (usually with images) I get a thin black line on the left side of the page. It varies between being nearly solid to broken, almost like a line of Morse code.

There is not a problem of cartridge or print head, nor is he one of cleanliness. The line is printing of the document. I adjusted the page margins too & that did not resolve.

I reinstalled the printer using the latest drivers but still no cure. My PC is running Vista 32 bit.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much

Adam

Hey AdamRJohn,

Did you right click and select run as administrator > printer properties or just the properties of the printer?  Vista has different parameters UAC that other versions of Windows and requires that you select run as administrator to be able to select a driver change.

    Hello

You are able to print a self - test page, or print a document - you get the same black line when printing.

You try to copy from the glass of the scanner or automatic document feeder?

If the printout is fine without the black line and the problem only occurs when you copy - follow the steps mentioned in the document.

  • the presentation of the screen on my monitor is slightly off center with a thin black line on the left hand side. Ho can I fix this. I am running Windows 7 with a monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10

The presentation of the screen on my new monitor is slightly biased with a thin black line on the right hand side which makes it awkward hitting the back button on the upper left side of the screen. How can I adjust this?  I am running Windows 7 on a new Compaq PC with AMD Vision and monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10.

    Any suggestions to adjust welcome.

    Thank you.

The monitor must have menu on the side or the bottom buttons - in the find menu where you can adjust the horizontal position of the image.

Increasing or decreasing the horizontal value will move the image left or right. When it is centered properly, you can exit the monitors.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 leaves black lines on docs scanned when using the document feeder

This is the second HP Officejet Pro 8600 I had - one was replaced by HP, after that the same issue arose.  I tried to clean the entire unit, but we still get a thin black line running vertically down the page.  This line is divided into sections of 1 "and 2.5" in length.  Sometimes I get the fine line and then almost a shadow line that is parallel.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated I have scan documents to PDF format and it's hassle to put everyone on the flat for scanning.  I use the charger of the doc on a daily basis and wonder if this could have something to do with the lines.

    Thanks for any help.

The question is a spec on thin (~ 1 "wide) glass to the left of the main bed scanner.  Clean this area as described in this document.  It can be difficult to see the affected area, a bright flashlight which is held at an angle to the glass can help find the place.  Even a very small spec on the glass can cause a black line when using the ADF.

  • Vertical black lines in middle of page

    Hi people,

I have a LaserJet 4250n printer which has slight black spots / vertical lines in the middle of my pages. It is at the bottom, but it gets lighter in some points and again takes upward. I tried to replace the toner cartridge and cleaning of the rollers, nothing helps.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hi James,

I am a technician in Australia HP printer and an employee full time. I deal with many printers with this one.

Lines to the bottom of the page can be caused by a few things - according to what looks like the line.

If it's a dirty dirty streaky brand constantly at the bottom of the page, migh you have a dirty oven - it may have been picking up toner and it has put in place and then put it down on paper.

A thin black line set can be a scratched or developer - drum laser could be refraction and drawing the defect on the drum.

Blank or white lines could be something stopping the toner to the study - under the toner transfer roller may have something stuck on this issue.

A repeated mark or default could also be a dirty oven - glue or wax envelopes and labels could do.

Try changing the toner with others to test - if you can borrow one.

Make 3 or 4 cleaning pages - in the menu, configure device, menu printing, cleaning page to create/process quality.

Remove fuser - door back comes, little blue clips, pull it. out - rotate using the green button and you might be able to gently remove something stuck in it.

If you can get to an another 4250 / 4350 you could borrow from the fuser and know.

For this machine, I find used ovens and dirty printers more often these symptoms.  Good next is of poor quality after market cartridges.

Hopefully I can help you here

  • Black line on prints/scans using HP8620 ADF

A thin black line down the page appears on the documents copied or scanned with the ADF on my 8620. Copy/scan from the flat bed is very good. All the ideas of cause and cure?

This is probably a small spec on the thin glass to the left of the bed main scanner.  Specification can be difficult to see, it can be useful to hold a flashlight light parallel to the bed to hilight the spec.  The document here can help solve the problem.

  • OfficeJet 6500 all-in-one - black line down page

Our newly purchased Officejet 6500 all-in-One is the production pages with thin black lines down the page about 2/3 of the way through the page (right side of page).  Is there a solution to this problem?

This was only happening with ADF.  After several cleanings with no changes, I found this forum.   After reading the plug on the glass, I went back and really clean the glass.  This has allowed the problem.  Thanks for the forum.

  • Black line appears in the export of F4V

This is a screenshot of my attached video .f4v. The thin black line at the bottom of the image in the image appears on my export .f4v, but it does not show in the export tab "output." I tested similar export settings in .flv format and the black line does not appear.  The project requires separate format use .f4v.  Does anyone have an idea how I could fix this?

477 is not divisible by 8, which these types of encodings normally work best with.  I would recommend using 848 x 480 for the export and editing in a sequence that matches the sequence.

  • thin horizontal black line down page what scan on HP Officejet Pro 8600 more

I've owned an HP Officejet Pro 8500 and scan was perfect.  I recently bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.

When I scan from the ADF HP 8600, I get a thin (several pixel wide) black along the lower edge of the analysis that results.  This line will be sometimes slightly twisted or appear only through half of the page, in which case, it tends to become thicker towards the edge of the page).  According to me, this line is an artifact of the analysis of the edge at the bottom of the original document.  I think it is to show where the bottom edge of the page was when parsing.  If the document is that a little offset, then the black line down will be a little twisted, probably following the edge of the page.  This issue is consistent and reproducible.  It is in the mode "Scan mail" and in mode 'Scan To Network Folder.

When I scan from the flat bed, I get a very narrow black line along the side of the analysis resulting very superior, but the background seems in good condition (although I have not tested this widely).

These fine black lines occurred when scanning the HP 8500.

I wonder if there is a setting to adjust it, or if it is a firmware difference between printers needs debugging.

    Hey KenAlker,

There are a few things I want to check if you have lines when scanning using the 8600. I see that mention you that lines appear both through ADF and flat glass. There may be something both of the glass sections used by this printer, but more often that otherwise, this isn't the case.

I would check if the printer is connected to a surge protector. If this is the case, then try plugging the 8600 in a direct outlet. Often the surge protector can cause this problem appears because the printer has a built.

    Also, try a hard reset:
    * Unplug the unit while the
Disconnect the other end of the wall socket direct
    * Wait 30-60 seconds
    * Plug the unit to the top

Also, try to take a look at the steps in the document found here.

    I hope this helps.

  • Several black lines horizontal onprinted Photo

I have a HP Officejet 8600 Premium with Windows XP SP 3.

When I print the PICTURE on paper ordinary it seems beautiful, but when I use the HP Photo paper it shows several thin black horizontal lines that apart about one inch from each other horizontally. There are 9 total lines on the 8.5 "X 11" Photo.

    Help, please.

    Hello RLOH,

After reading your post, I see that your HP Officejet 8600 Premium will not print a photo without horizontal lines using HP Photo paper.

Please take a look at this document from HP: fixing of the streaks of ink, faded prints and other common print quality problems, in my experience, it is usually the paper type is not defined the correct paper.

Let me know if this helped.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620 shows a black line on scanned documents

I have an Officejet Pro 8620. Just bought two months ago and everything was fine. I scanned just, however, an element through the feeder and it has a verticle black line subject to halfway, going down the whole page. What can I do to fix this? This is not the case again using the dish.

The question that you see is caused by a small spec on the glass of the scanner ADF, thin glass just left of the main bed.  Clean this area as on the solution three of the document here.

I found that shining flaslight parallel to the glass of the ADF can highlight the spec, it may be difficult to see.

  • Office Jet Pro 8600: Black Line on my 8600 Pro JO

Im having the same problem as many have had over the years. I was getting several lines back when I scanned and copied files (not when you printing from the computer, seems to only happen when I use the feed. I did what others said and it disconnected a surge protector and left it unplugged for two hours. After, lines of light disappeared but a dark one is still there. Ive cleaned the rollers or at least tried. How to hide the car for him give a good clean, if that's what continues. Thank you.

The document here can help solve the black lines to scan using the ADF on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  From my experience this is almost always caused by a specification on the thin glass on the side left which is used for scanning using the ADF.  Cleaning of this area as described in the above document should solve the problem.  If the initial cleanup does not resolve the problem, it can help to shine a bright flashlight almost parallel to the glass.  For a line on the left side of the printed page, the place will be toward the front of the printer, if the line is on the right side of the document, it must correspond to a specification to the rear of the printer.

  • How can I remove the black lines that prints when I use my ADF?

When I use my ADF my copies have 2 black lines going down the middle.  How can I remove them?

OK, the 8600 Officejet Pro has two pieces of glass used for copying, the glass of the main copy, and a thin (~ 1 "wide) section of glass on the left side.  If there are black lines vertical on copies or analyses both flat glass and ADF, and then the question would be caused by a defect in the sensor scanning.  The most likely hypothesis is that copies of the scanner glass flat are OK but there is a vertical line on the pages sent through the ADF.  This is caused by a small spot, perhaps as small dust on the cutting Strip.  Holding a strong flashlight on the front of the unit to the position just above the t in the logo HP Officejet Pro on the front will highlight the region.
