ThinApp with a font file

I have a custom application that uses a EUDC fonts file attached to the Arial font.  When I have the app, part of the installation is to remove the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\FNTCACHE. DAT the file after the installation of the police and then restart to re-create the cache of windows police.  Running on the capture machine (a new Windows XP SP3 virtual machine) works perfectly.  On any other target machine, however, the application behaves as if it doesn't have the font file installed.  If I install the font on the computer file target outside of the package, the application thinapped works very well.  I tried: fusion and WriteCopy methods of insulation.

Someone with experience, including fonts in thinapp package?  Tips or ideas for troubleshooting?  I searched the forumn for fonts, the fonts and FNTCACHE with no useful result.

I use Thinapp 4.6, capture for WinXP.

Thank you

B.

Yes, you are right. Fontcache is load/re-created during startup.

I don't think that it is regular to refresh it fly.

If you want to use Thinapp with this application, you must perform the steps necessary to refresh the cache of fonts on all computers where app will be launched.

  • Problem with some fonts of symbols after the installation of the Sierra

    Hello

    I have recently upgraded the OS on my iMac late 2012 for Sierra, since doing so, I noticed a problem with several fonts.

    All symbolic symbols Apple to Wingdings fonts not correctly displayed in the font book. Apple symbols looks like a standard wheelbase of san, and other symbolic fonts just show as question marks '?' where the images should be.

    In text editing, that I can't even see the symbolic fonts like Zapf Dingbats and Wingdings in the selector. However, they all work well in Adobe Illustrator (CS5) and Microsoft Word 2011. Apple symbols still looks like a standard font.

    I already tried the following:

    1. check the fonts in font book

    2 fix the duplicates in the font book

    3. using the "Restore Standard fonts" option in the font book

    4 deleting a file in the folder Preferences plist Fonts

    5 deleted the cache of police and the database

    I'm out of ideas. Has anyone else had the same problem found a fix?

    Kind regards

    Greville

    I'm just to add that I used the recovery partition to do a clean install of Sierra on a hard drive external and then booted into it to see if it had the same problem.

    And he does. Wingdings and other photo fonts appear as '?' in boxes where the letters must be in the font book.

    So this seems like a problem with the way Sierra displays these fonts, not with the font files themselves.

  • Distillation/Printing Postscript files with TrueType fonts

    We have the possibility to include marketing inserts full pages (PDF format) in our documents/letters. These inserts put in the full postscript file that we send to a printing facility to print and send.

    Whenever a new insert marketing is created, I run an audit before the flight custom to ensure that fonts are included and transparent do not exist.

    The thing is, we use a few printing facilities, they have printing problems of resources/PDF files into postscript that have TrueType fonts. I also see some errors when I try to distill files with TrueType fonts: "Impossible to extract the embedded police 'JOLMKC + Times-Roman'."  Sometimes, I can edit the PDF to convert Type 1 fonts, but not always. Is it possible to convert TrueType to Type 1? Why TrueType fonts do not work? I did some research, and everything I've read says that TrueType fonts should work in postscript.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    What I use:

    Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

    Windows 8.1

    Police of example I used with the error:

    Times-Roman (embedded subset)

    Type: TrueType

    Encoding: Ansi

    It also came with Arial:

    ArialMT (embedded subset)

    Type: TrueType

    Ansi encoding

    Fix. In my view, that the file PDF is turned via Ghostscript.

    I did eventually find out using Adobe Acrobat 9 (only tried the reader, not Pro), I got all the fonts to Type 1 fonts. I followed the exact same steps as I did in the 11. I don't know if they both incorporate different ways, but each time I have incorporate into 9, it incorporate all Type 1 fonts, not just some of them such as 11.

    I get more concrete information on the technical process, but at this point, I have solved my problem. Thanks for the offer of help!

  • How to open an EPS file with embedded fonts / missing without losing the appearance of these fonts?

    I often work with graphics created by others in a variety of programs (Matlab, GnuPlot,...). Sometimes, they're sending me EPS files with fonts "embedded", but when I go to open them in the CS6, I get the box alerts missing fonts / substituted.

    I also tried ' site > flatten transparency...» "as you can do with a PDF file, but I encounter an error indicating"related work that interacts with transparency can be flattened. Incorporate the work (using the links Panel) before flattening. "When I try this, I get once the box alert missing fonts / substituted.

    Someone at - he encountered the same problem and find their way around it?

    I solved the problem, so I just came back to share:

  • Adobe Type Manager problem with Windows 7 and DIN fonts file extension appears not

    I have Windows 7 and for some reason, I can't install Adobe Type Manager on my computer.

    I need ATM to install the DIN font but I'm having no luck what so ever.

    I can see the police DIN in my Dropbox, but it appears like this: - ._DIN-"BOLD", no file extension. what I am doing wrong? What is Mac?

    Adobe Type Manager absolutely cannot be installed on Windows 7. In fact, even to try to install it may corrupt your installation of operating system and its ability to make properly Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts. The latest version of Windows for which ATM was compatible at all was Windows XP, 32-bit only!

    Adobe Type Manager is not at all necessary to install fonts, fonts, Type 1 on Windows 7 systems. Right click on the file of fonts for TrueType of OpenType CFF fonts or the. PFM file for Type 1 fonts and select the installation option.

    You try to install the font file is for MacOS. It cannot be installed on Windows.

  • problems with special fonts

    I was wondering the best way to deal with the non-standard fonts used in a project CVI?  I have an application that uses the "SWAstro" font for the up and down arrows as indicators in a table of the CVI.  When you run the executable file on a computer that has installed the CVI, the arrows appear very well.  On computers that don't have the CVI run time engine installed, the arrows simply show upward in the form of vertical bars.

    Is it possible to have my program to install a font, if it is needed?  I'm better off everything including the font with the executable file and having the user install themselves separately?  I tried to find a more generalized windows font that a up and down arrows, but the ones I found (like Wingdings 3) doesn't seem to be available in CVI.

    Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hello

    You may not be able to set the font as "Wingdings 3' of the IUR Editor, but it is possible from the code.

    Here's a simple example. It defines the label for a control on the symbol corresponding to the key 'a' on the keyboard.

    You just have to find the right key for the symbol you want.

    SetCtrlAttribute (NLP, ctrl, ATTR_LABEL_FONT, "wingdings 3");

    SetCtrlAttribute (NLP, ctrl, ATTR_LABEL_TEXT, ' a');

    Hello ncarter11,

    You could try doing an upgrade on the spot or repair before performing a factory restore.
    However, you will need installation DVD to repair.

    The upgrade in place will not affect the settings like photos, movies, documents, etc. that are saved on the computer. Although this operation will not remove or modify the files and installed programs, I suggest always that you back up important files before you do. In addition, you may need to reinstall the device drivers after this operation.

    The detailed steps are included as below:

    On-site upgrade
    ====================
    1 log on to the system first.
    2. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. Click Start and select computer.
    4. find the "setup.exe" file in the DVD-ROM and double-click it.

    5. click on install now.

    6. When you are prompted to enter the product key, please click Next directly without entering any key. The installation wizard will prompt and ask if you confirm to install Windows Vista without the key and choose please confirm.

    7. When you get to the screen ' which type of installation you want', click upgrade to upgrade the Windows 7 system files.

    Note: When running the upgrade on the spot, the system will restart automatically (several times) to merge the files and programs, please leave the computer alone and does not configure it until the 'upgrade on the spot"finished. The system should start Windows 7, once it is upgraded. Once the computer is running "upgrade on the spot", you can go and leave the computer and it completes automatically.

    If you are unable to do an upgrade on the spot, then I think that your other option would be to do factory restore and see if you can recover your fonts.

    Answer please come back and let us know.

    Thank you

  • Police fixed-pitch, or including the own font files

    Hello community!

    Is it possible to define the type of insurance a LabelField to a minivan one?

    I searched the forum and I could not find the comments about the font size...

    If this is not possible: is there a way to include my own fonts with the application file?

    Sincerely,.

    Patrick

    I'm not aware of any monospaced Fonts.

    You can add your own fonts in OS 5.0.  Prior to that, it is not supported.

    I guess that, if you really need to do it, you could model your own fonts using bitmap images or very careful drawing!

  • How to install the .lst and .afm on Windows font files?

    Sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it.

    My University tutor gave me a few fonts in the form of .lst and .afm files I assume these are the file types that you get when you compress InDesign documents.

    I wonder if there is anyway to integrate into Windows because changing the file .ttf or .otf format doesn't seem to help.

    Thanks in advance.

    You don't need this .lst file. But you need the .pfb and .pfm files to go with the .afm file (pfb and pfm files have the same name as the .afm file). Place them in the same folder, then right-click on the .pfm file, then choose install. (In fact, you need not file .afm under Windows.)

  • InDesign to break with book .indb file

    Hello

    I'm having a problem with the help of the book palette crashing InDesign everytime I try to change it.

    I found many people having crashing issues on Mac OSX and with export to PDF but can't seem to find an instance of accidents because of the book file.

    Basically whenever I try to delete, move, add a page of the book (file .indb), InDesign displays a dialog "update page a section numbers" and update the docs in the book. This works as it should until I add one of my chapters (chapter of the biggest: 26, 884 KB). He then proceeds to crash after trying to udate book whenever I try to change it.

    I wonder if there is a restriction of size of book or a chapter size restriction, because the only real difference that has this chapter is of size. All chapters equate all 108, 450 KB, which I thought only indesign could handle, which makes me doubt that the file size is the issue.

    The whole book is only 98 pages.

    It is a very large file to InDesign. You have a lot of graphics integrated or glued?

    There is a good chance there is a problem with this particular file. Save a backup copy, then try a vers.idml/.inx export to clean. See remove minor corruption by exporting

    It amy also be a problem with a font or a reference, if you use them. See the fonts troubleshooting | Mac OS X

  • Can someone help me with these fonts?

    Hi guys, im, building a website in dreamweaver and hoped to use the fonts - positive a, barnes and feather of truth.

    I know that there is something, you can with some copy and paste the code from google, but I can't seem to find it.

    Can anyone help?

    Here is my site - www.allroots.org

    See you soon

    Benn

    My bad, I forgot to add this in the previous answer.

    In your CSS, find references to this:

    Police-family: "fat CabinSketch";

    Replace:

    do-family: 'cabin Sketch ";

    because the definition in the google API font file is:

    {@font-face}

    do-family: 'cabin Sketch ";

    make-style: normal;

    make-weight: 700;

    SRC: local ("CabinSketch" BOLD "" "), local('CabinSketch-Bold'), the url format ('woff') (http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/cabinsketch/v5/ki3SSN5HMOO0-IOLOj069BAPw1 J91axKNXP_ - QX9CC8.woff);

    }

    So, whatever the name given to the police in the font family for a reference type of police , this is what you should use in your CSS to replicate this font.

    Do the same for rye as well.

  • Can I submit a book with all its files and graphics?

    Hello world

    Windows7, FM 10 Newbie here.

    I have to hand it to off the coast of a book in the format of FM.  Is it possible that all the files can be packed with their graphics? If this cannot be done automatically, as in InDesign, is it possible to identify what graphics have been used in the book (other than its use created to create a date limit)? There are graphics in my folder that were not used, or have been deleted.

    Can a book automatically copied with all its files, so if it is open in another directory, it is complete?  Or is that everything must be backed up separately?

    I'd appreciate any help you can give me, even if someone can tell me it's impossible!

    There is a free Extendscript that does this for FM10:

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/TECHCOMM/2011/07/create-a-book-Packager-using-ExtendScript.html

    Note that it is not collect fonts, however - but the licensing of fonts

    probably require that the person at the other end to buy their own copies anyway.
