Think Acrobat Pro XI (cc) a bug - need to uninstall immediately

Under the date limit - work on Saturday. Acrobat Pro XI update Wednesday or Thursday noticed Friday when I print PDF had documents containing Calibri fonts on PCL printer several random text are MISSING.

This happens both when I create post script file in InDesign, and then disill with distilling to PDF AND ALSO when I print using the printer Adobe PDF from MS Word.

I'm on the new HP laptop with Windows 7 OS and running any new installation (06/01/14) the creative cloud (indesign, acrobat, illustrator, photoshop).  I have already uninstalled Acrobat and ran the cleaner to completely uninstall and then reinstalled Acrobat late yesterday afternoon. Print Calibri problem still there - guess the update now included in the download?

Can I roll back to before the update somehow?  Thank you for giving detailed instructions and please hurry... Thank you very much

Shelby :-(

Too bad!!!  Whatever... installing the Acrobat 11.0.06 update FIXED, HE... Halleluja!

I hope I'm posting in the right place.  Please let me know if I should spend it.  I'm so desperate - I have tried everything I can think and hope that someone has another idea, I can try.

I use Acrobat Pro.  When the problem started, I used Pro X.  I tried upgrading to the test XI Acrobat to see if that fixes the problem, but it didn't.  I don't care which I use as long as it works.

The program starts, but I can't click on any one of the choices on the 'splash' screen (where you can choose to open a recent file or select a task).  When I drive on the choice I see the overthrow of highlight, but nothing happens when I click.  I can open a file in the FILE menu, but when I do I can't do anything with it.  None of the tools on the toolbar window works.  Then everything crashes and I have to force quit to close the program.

I'm on a Mac under OS Mountain Lion X 10.8.5 with a 3.2 GHz Intel Cose i3 processor and 12 GB DDR3 memory at 1333 MHz.  When the problem started, I used Lion 10.7.5, so I tried the update to Mountain Lion, but it does not solve the problem.

    Here is what I tried:

    > Uninstall and then reinstall Acrobat X Pro repeatedly

    > Install, uninstall, reinstall Acrobat Pro XI

    > Installation in Safe Mode

    > Uninstalling all other Adobe products I got (after effects Trial, inDesign 5, Adobe Reader)

I also tried different things, I found in the Forums - as long as I do not remember now.  We had to do with moving some preference files and opening the program again, one was the fix for a problem of conflict CS6.

When the problem started first, I discovered that my Time Machine backup was not working because my backup disk was full and Time Machine was not delete older backups.  I didn't have a recent backup so I didn't want to do a system restore to before the problem.  I got a new external drive of 4 TB for Time Machine and got a 3 TB external drive to clear a bunch of large documents on my main hard drive.

I'm willing to try anything.  Help, please!

Well, after two weeks of pulling my hair I finally thought to it last night!  The problem was a bad mouse driver.  I use a mouse move (which I LOVE) but it is an older model and I guess that the update of OX 10.7.4 to 10.7.5 punt just driver incompatibility.  I have tested the mouse a week or two ago and my Mac wireless mouse worked but does not solve the problem because when I did the test I actually didn't unplug the mouse move.  Once I did that last night and used only in the Mac wireless mouse, Acrobat returned to work correctly.

I just ordered the latest change mouse that is compatible with OS X.  I can't wait until he comes tomorrow!

Thanks to all those who, looking at this issue and I tried to think of a solution.

  • Acrobat Pro XI's Japanese - I need English

I have a new computer and I am trying to transfer everything from the old to the new.  When I install Acrobat Pro XI, it installs successfully, but everything is in Japanese.  I tried twice.  What did I miss?  It is always enabled on the old computer - I'd rather not turn off until I know that everything works well on the new.  Could be the problem?

I ended up re - download the installation file.  This time, he has been successfully installed in English.

    Thanks for your help.

  • What I do with outdated Acrobat Pro? Continue to use it or uninstall it?

I need to update my Acrobat Pro 9.5.3 for use with my Creative Suite CS5. You say that is no longer possible? So how to stop this darn Acrobat Update Installer from popping up all the time? Should I worry not upgraded (spend more money) when I am running Yosemite 10.10.2 on my iMac?

    Hi Deboah,

You can download and install updates to Acrobat 9 to: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/9.x/

Acrobat 9 has not been tested on Mac Yosemite and you could face problems of compatibility with it.

  • I need to go back to acrobat pro xi

This "update" and the "complete reinvents ' which calls Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is a complete failure, in many levels (not clear where are edges of paper against a background in tools that have been hidden, inability to 'lock' the interface into something that works really, etc..). It is obviously not designed for anyone who needs to get the real work done. I tried several times to return to Acrobat Pro XI and have been satisfied with the request for a serial number (don't think I've ever had one of these for CC...?) and so on. With the growing negative comments appear on Reddit and other places, Adobe needs to display clear instructions and links on how to restore Acrobat Pro XI so those who need to get the real work done can actually do (as opposed to 'imaginary' ideas Adobe work and users).

  • Acrobat Reader can co-exist with Acrobat Pro

I have Acrobat Pro XI installed. I need to test forms with Acrobat Reader. In versions, previous two products could not co-exist; install one would remove the other. Now, I've read that they can coexist. Y at - there no procedure for the installation of Acrobat Reader which ensures she will not erase Acrobat Pro?

    Hi Martin, Michael

You can certainly install Acrobat Pro and drive at the same time on the same machine.

Try to do the same thing on your side and let me know what exact issue you are facing.

A version bought the current version (Acrobat DC Pro) can be exchanged, so you should be able to run on Windows or Mac. But never both. You can then run it on two machines for your own personal use (do not share).

A subscription version can be installed on two computers. Windows or Mac. For a person.

More complex arrangements are pointing to a need for volume licenses.

  • Need help: Acrobat Pro XI - reduced size PDF vs PDF optimized

I hope that some of you people can help me, I can't contact Adobe customer service.  I've recently updated to Acrobat Pro XI.  In my old version of Acrobat Pro, I used to be able to take a large PDF file (let's say 10 MB) and shrink considerably down with relative ease (less than 1 MB).  The file could then be easily sent, share, read, and especially don't take tons of hard drive space.  With this new version of Acrobat Pro XI, this same file of 10 MB barely reduced up to 7 or 8 MB.  I played with different settings in either the file-> save as others-> PDF of reduced size and File-> Save As-> optimized other PDF.  No matter what I try, I can't reach anywhere near the same compression results than what I used to be able to achieve with my older version of Pro.  I can get the file size reduced, but the reduced quality of the file is trash.

Has anyone else has this problem as well?  Anyone of you have any suggestions on what to do to fix?  I have mainly to scan a document in PDF with my HP OfficeJet Pro and then reduce the size of the PDF file after the scan.  I could scan the document with DPI lower initially (currently scan 300 dpi in grayscale), but then I have not the quality of the scanned image I need to reduce the file down so that it can later be reprinted at a good enough quality.

Leonie... I could have thought of it!  Don't have time to play with it now, but try this out.  Open large PDF you want to shrink in size.  Go to view-> tools-> processing of documents.  There should be a toolbar that opens on the right side of the screen next to the document.  One of the selections will be in PDF format to optimize.  When I did, I got a 12 MB document reduce less than 1 MB!  You can play with the slider to choose a smaller / more low quality vs a bigger / better quality.  I don't know why they hid this feature here, but I think that's what we are looking for.  I highlighted the command and dragged to my main toolbar to make it easier to access next time.

Hope this helps!  I would like to know how it works for you.

  • I have Acrobat Pro DC Office license, does not accept my key.  Think that my key is for Acrobat Standard DC.

I have a seat of office of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and I tried to activate it with my Acrobat Pro DC license key.  The system rejected my key and said that the key is for Acrobat Standard DC, not for Pro.  I know that the key is certainly a key to Acrobat Pro DC.  How to solve this?

How can I add white space between areas that contain text fields?

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015.

I'm trying to change an existing PDF. I need to add white space between areas that contain text fields to allow these areas to be developed and do not overlap the text and the text below fields.

    For example:

    1. 1.

    Progress/strategies:

    1. 2.

    Progress/strategies:

    1. 3.

    Progress/strategies:

    1. 4.

    Progress/strategies:

The space between each 'progress/strategies' increasing needs. A text field is under each of them. If it's a Word doc, I could just press on enter. What is the best way to do this with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?

There is no easy way to do it. You need to move the text fields more apart and if there are static elements, then you will need to use the tool edit text & Images to move them, separately.
