  Well, I reinstalled windows xp pro sp 2 on my grandfather's old ibm thinkpad models Z60t, because he gave it to me and I didn't need half of the stuff on the hard drive.   On my newly purchased W530, a cable VGA-causes a crash or a black screen on my Thinkpad.

  Accidents seem to occur more often when I closed the lid and insert the VGA cable. If I open cover more often get a black screen (which remains black even when I leave the cable again).

  Yes, as I mentioned, accidents have disappeared after installing the latest driver Nvidias own site.

  Remaining problems are small problems which I can live with to what NVidia fixes if all goes well with an updated driver.

  But it was really great to see instructions on how to start in safe mode on Windows 8. I always wondered who. Thanks again Adam! :-)

  I really need help. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army who served two tours in Iraq and a deployment in Afghanistan. I am also a single father of two with a daughter in 7th grade and my oldest daughter in her first year of collage. Recently, my daughter in collage had his car broken into and they stole his mobile phone. I can't afford to buy him a new one, but I have a lenovo thinkpad e430, but when I turn on it will display the thinkpad and logo on the bottom of the screen says to stop start normal hit enter. After one or two seconds, the screen goes white, except for a small lock icon and a cursor flashing in the upper right. IM assuming he wants a password but I have no idea what it is. Can someone please walk me througj how this thing works for my child?

  I plan to upgrade my Thinkpad X230s memory up to 8 GB. I have a few questions, it would be a great help if anyone can help me.

  (1) is it better to use the configuration 2x4gb or 1x8GB? What are the benefits? (Configuration of Thinkpad X 230 support dual channel does?)

  (2) CPU - Z shows my current RAM is running at 1.5 V. I put two 4 GB RAM running at 1.35v? (Thinkpad X 230 supports type DDR3L memory?)

  (3) what happens if I use two RAM with different CASES of latency?

  Hi, I have an amd thinkpad model x131e 3372 runnning windows 7 and I have problems with the ThinkVantage fingerprint software. Whenever I try to register a fingerprint, I get these errors:

  

  I really need help. Its driving me crazy that I am not able to use my fingerprint to unlock my pc or check the passwords.

  I also have the x131e model 33722. It does not come with a fingerprint sensor, then any attempt to use the software would result in such a mistake. You might be confusing the middle button of the mouse with a fingerprint sensor.

  OK, removing the updates does not solve my problem, so reinstalled. I solved the breaks down by turning the bottom of my screen Hardware Acceleration 1 notch. Always try to understand the underlying cause.

  Press Fn + F8 and be sure that it is enabled. It tends to turn off without reason. Hope that works for you.

  OK, so I just got a thinkpad yoga S1. The that I had was the one without the digitizer pen automatically installed in the side of the computer. The pen came separately and it is the same as that exact one used with the version that comes with the pen. I do not know the product code or even what her name. Which driver should I install and how can I register the product? Also, because the version I have has as a black spot where the digitizer normally goes is there a way I can get out and be able to accommodate the supplied stylus separately?
