• Graphics ThinkPad Edge e520 problem

  So I got my new computer laptop and for some reason any graphics card is not working properly. Whenever I try to play starcraft2 on support (which even the chp to intel is able to do), it looks like this when you use the radeon:

  I emailed AMD about this and they told me its probably a problem of drivers, but their CCC does not support switchable graphics books and I should ask for drivers lenovo. But I can't find anything but the drivers of the chip intel. I don't have a phone available right now and I can't seem to find a support email address and it gets pretty frustrating and I wonder why they use this switchable graphic thing, if they can't even operate

  I tried to turn the chip intel offshore but used CCC recognize the same when I do this, also for some reason any disable one of radeon graphics cards seems to be another one works does not more properly be :/

  Hi guys,.

  After 2 and a half years of satisfactory using this laptop, I decided to finally the 320 GB HD a 120 GB SSD in this little boy. I am aware that SSD connectors differ from normal laptop HD connectors. I want to know what follows-

  1. My laptop is upgradeable to a SSD?
  2. If so, what kind of SSD and how to replace the drive (there mSATA for this laptop)?

  I don't have any personal experience with your machine.  Here are two documents that should help you:

  According to the HMM: the computer comes with a Mini PCI Express for wireless WAN or an mSATA SSD. If the computer is equipped with an mSATA SSD, it is installed in the housing of the wireless WAN card.

  removable, expandable, hard drive mounted shock,.

  I don't know what you mean by "SSD connectors differ from normal laptop HD connectors.  I expect a SATA SSD (not mSATA) to have the same dimensions (7 or 9.5 mm thick) and the connectors as your current HARD drive.

• ThinkPad Edge not charging WITHOUT REASON APPARENTE

  Hello! I have a ThinkPad Edge 15. He had a problem loading the day I bought it. The people I bought it returned to IBM/Lenovo that apparently tight area where the charge lead goes to the PC? (I'm obviously not PC literate, sorry!)

  That has NOT fixed the problem, so when I got my laptop back, I called LEnovo, they sent me a new battery (even though I told them the "Power Manager", said the battery was in good condition) which did nothing. Then they sent me a new charge lead, once again - nada. They sent me a box to return the laptop to them. As I find how to put the laptop in the box, I looked more @ my PC and this is; shone the light that tells you if he is in charge! I never returned - it was last August.

  Last night. I looked @ the loading icon; 15%, no charging current!" Oops! Oh dear, not again! I went to the power manager, everything is fine. All my connections, same verified. Darn it all. I have a business. that is 90% SEARCH! MY PC DIED on me. I called Lenovo, they said - send it us.

  I still had the box since last summer, then he is out. I left the laptop plugged in my thoughts only, something might happen like last summer! HA! This morning I find how to pack, I watch over @ cell phone & guess WHAT! He has been in charge, the light was on.   First: I did what I thought, it was a decent amount of research before buying this laptop Lenovo. (I thought I was buying a ThinkPad Edge E520 - but that's another story) I really thought that "Lenovo" products have a good reputation. Yet, when on this Forum, I read a lot of posts on the problems of charging with the Edge series. What is everything? I buy another computer soon, but is reluctant to even look @ a Lenovo. If I had a case opened last night, I would have been freaked out! This is not acceptable! Lenovo has a good rep, or not?

  Second: What happens after my warranty expires in five months and it is ALWAYS the case? Is this PC a lemon? I've had a few laptops, and I have NEVER had anything that gave me as much hassle as this! My friend as a 15 years old song VAIO, which must NEVER, not once seen any problems! It has Windows Vista, same! 15 YEARS, not a single bump on the road! I got this SEVEN month, and if you add up, it's more than once a month! ARRGGGHHHHH!

  Third: If someone can make a good argument for staying with Lenovo; I need to look @ your desktop all-in-one or small. I used to say 'battery' has been my need to #1 to a computer, but now I realize that the 'reliability' is my requirement #1!  Maybe, a PC will be fast, one will be reliable? Sounds like a plan to me!

  So whenever you're ready to put the computer in the box, it starts to load, it seems that it is really a physical connection problem.

  It looks as if there is a loose wire, something may have slipped out of place and could be postponed.

  I recommend that you go ahead and send in your unit, regardless of whether it begins to load before you place it in the box.

  There is none of course say until you send it and let the repair depot look at him.

  I have a Thinkpad Edge 14, bought in 2011, it's a core i5 460 M, the model is 0578, I want to upgrade the processor as its just becomes too slow to perform new music software I have. Any ideas what processors it would fit?

  I7 - 620 m is the highest, you can go, but I don't know if that would help you or not. Since the increase in performance of the i7 arrandale is not that much compared to the arrandale i5.

• ThinkPad Edge 14 Bluescreen - cannot find the cause

  I have my new Thinkpad Edge 14 about 2 weeks ago! It worked very well for a few days and then all of a sudden blue screen appeared and he did it again! I'm not sure that it is connected or not, but the day before I upgraded to Windows 7 with the latest patches and updates!

  After the first blue screen, it began to restart or show the blue screen every few minutes. I also got bluescreen in safe mode.

  Try to stay away from the unit updated driver provided by Windows, install only the updates of security. Looks like it was a MS update device driver that caused it.

• Problem of CPU ThinkPad Edge 14

  So I had my Thinkpad Edge 14 since the end of last summer.  I keep putting it off, but now it has got to the point where I have enough of him.  Here's my problem:

  I connect my Thinkpad Edge 14 in the charger, which is obviously plugged into an outlet.  Usually, it is while the system is still working, but recently I tried to l ' first.  Now, about 1-2 minutes after I plug the laptop, the processor begins to FREAK OUT.  I put Rainmeter in place so I can keep track of my RAM/CPU/network and others.  So my little graphic of my CPU starts to spike and it goes from 0 %-> 26 %-> 0 %-> 78 %-> 100 %-> 0% and so on and so forth.  This does not happen over time, what is happening at all times.  The CPU just guard jump and fall.  It's killing my performance.  Everything becomes nervous and slow.  Opening a folder or my browser (which should take 2 seconds, if that) now takes about a minute.  Before, I could just turn off my phone and turn it back on, no problem.  Now, I disable and turn it 3 - 4 times and it is always jumping so I just let it stay there until the machine is loaded.  I got used to load just from one day to the next just so I don't have to deal with in the morning.  I don't have any idea what the problem is or how to stop it.  This has also nothing to do with going to Task Manager and ending a few process.  I tried and it does nothing.

  I hope someone can help me with this problem because I have not seen anywhere.  I looked through the Lenovo Web site and got nothing.

  
  

• Blue screen when you try to install Windows XP on Intel ThinkPad Edge 520

  I have a ThinkPad Edge 520 type 1143-B5G with a clean disk and I need to install Windows XP on it, for reasons of inheritance. I read on the pilot of the technology Intel Rapid store being necessary, but this seems not to apply to the 520, only to 220 and 420. The recommended settings are not available on the 520 (nor is the driver itself), and the driver is listed by n/a for the 520 in the list of drivers of Lenovo.   Hello and welcome,

  What settings are you looking for?  It seems that there is a problem with the mode of operation of HD.  The E520 BIOS has an option to change the SATA compatibility instead of AHCI mode?  You will not be able to install a version of "Vanilla" of XP without adding the correct AHCI driver or compatibility mode.

  What version of BIOS do you have?  I see this rather cryptic reference in the BIOS 1.20:

  "[Fixes problem] problem reading/writing data to the SATA compatibility mode."

  It is possible to dual-boot XP and 7, but the best way to do is to install XP first and then let the 7 Installer put in place the configuration dual-boot.  You would still have the problem of compatibility (IDE) vs AHCI mode.

  Ah, lookinng a little further, there is a driver AHCI for XP in Lenovo driver matrix.  The readme file includes instructions on installation.

  Hi again,

  The way I read the specification, it is not a graphics card in your machine.  The graphics are part of the CPU chip.

  GMA HD is the best that I can get to so far.  The details are in this Intel link I posted.

  I see a few references on the interwebs calling it a 5700HD.  Cannot be verified until now.

• Keyboard comes out on my new Thinkpad Edge

  My wife has just received its new Thinkpad Edge (0196-26U 13 "screen, Intel processor, matte black). While not as energetic as our boosted T61 or T400, it is much lighter and adapts to its needs.

  Most of the keys on the keyboard feels good, but our model seems to have a flaw. The upper right corner of the keyboard tray pops out regularly. I can click it back in but there is a visible bulge and with a slight flex of the body it comes out back. In addition, the right side of the END key is depressed compared to the rest of the keys.

  I provide Lenovo today to inquire about a replacement part.

  Anyone else having this problem?

  Received the replacement keyboard today (the day after). It was a simple swap out. The original was clearly misrepresented in the upper right. The replacement unit has a millimeter to give in the same corner, but the framework comes out with an audible 'click'. Not perfect but does not interfere with my typing.

  The keyboard is attached to the frame by tabs at the front and two screw centered on a third of the way left and right. This keeps most of the keyboard firmly in place, especially in the middle where you press the small head of gum. The corners are only kept pressed by the rigidity of the frame of the keyboard. Thus, given any incompatibility with the chassis, there got to be some give.

  That's life I guess.
