ThinkPad T60

Hello all,.

I'm having a problem with the T60, Type = 2008, model portable 2 = CTO, ID 2008UX7 S/N L3-* an L3-*.

The error on boot - Expansion Rom not initialized-PCI on the motherboard

Bus: 00, device: 00, function 00.

The machine continues to operate correctly once you press ENTER to continue.

Should I try to load the default values in the BIOS, and then upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS.

Kind regards

Chris.

Moderator edit: hide the serial numbers to prevent improper use.

Hello

I try as you say, he has allowed the error, but that still left card us with one LAN which has corrupted the firmware, I have had to replace the Systemboard T60 an update of the BIOS for a fix for this error.

As the machine is still under warranty, it was the way to go.

See you soon.

  • Radiator and fan on Thinkpad T60 T61

    Hello

Its time to change the fan on my Thinkpad T60. I thought to replace the entire cooling system (fan and heat sink). Is it possible, in terms of compatibility, use a T61 radiator and fan? I mean having a FRU:41V9932 and FRU:42W2820. I've heard that T61 cooling system, is better than the T60, his cooler etc and more completely.

What is did anyone of you experience this nature? Are they compatible physics?

    Thank you

  • ThinkPad T60 Max memory

    Hello
I have Thinkpad T60 2007 and Windows 7 32 bits of the operating system installed.
My computer only does support max 3 GB of RAM?
If I install 4 GB of RAM in my Thinkpad, would he recognized by the OS and if not it means my computer uses only 3 GB of it?

    Thank you

This is a hardware limitation of the generation of machines.

  • ThinkPad T60 Bios problem

At startup, my Thinkpad T60 shows fan failure message, but the fan seems to work very well.  Before replacing any hardware, I thought it might be useful to update the bios to see if that solves the problem.  Unfortunately, I'm unable to access the bios.  When I press the F1 key, the computer beeps constantly and I cannot get into the BIOS configuration utility.  When I stop to hit F1, fan failure message once again appears on the screen and the computer fails to boot the operating system.  Any suggestions to fix this are greatly appreciated.   Thank you very much!

Thanks for the information. I have some Arctic Silver thermal paste #5 flying over the replacement of a heatsink / fan for a friend. Of course happy that I kept it!

  • ThinkPad T60 8744 will not stay in mode 'sleep'.

I apologize if this question has already been addressed elsewhere in this forum; I looked at some length and any mention of it is found.

I had a problem recently with my ThinkPad T60 8744-5BU running Windows Vista Business SP1.  Whenever I put my laptop sleep (whether by closing the lid or using the combo Fn + F4), it will remain so for anywhere from 30 minutes.  At one point during the transport, the laptop comes out fashion 'sleep'.  It is very good and everything except that it is usually in one of these sleeves neoprene inside my bag Targus, which means that at the time when I get where I'm going, I could use it to make pancakes.

Because it always seems to happen while I'm away, I figured that maybe it was a problem with an Active Protection, but neutralizing him did not resolve the issue.

Has anyone run into this problem or heard of something similar?  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Ben

    Well, welcome to the forum,

There are several discussions on the subject or similar. I searched using wake-up and sleep and I hope that this thread will have some useful information for you.

  • No sound - unknown devices on Thinkpad T60 (with xp sp3, sp2 no)

    Hello!

I have reinstalled xp on my T60 (sp3, sp2 no) and there are 2 unknown devices in Device Manager (1st: ACPI/TPM1200 2nd: HDAUDIO/FUNC). There is no sound on it.

I tried the drivers on the internet and I read: atmel tpm for the 1st, audiodriver (or modem!) for the 2nd.

I found (barely) and I have installed atmel/TPM but the yellow circle with an exclamation mark is still there.

I n "t see any audio driver for xp on the T60 (only audio features...) on the lenovo site.

What must I do to get the sound on my laptop?

    Thank you very much.

    h.v.r.

You should maybe download Lenovo Thinkvantage System Update and let it download the right driver for you.

  • ThinkPad t60 mouse who whines bottons

Hi my t60 has developed a cry in the mouse pad buttons is a common fault and is there a solution?

    Ok.

is this the buttons themselves, or the plastic of the palmrest right below the buttons?

the reason I ask this is that the plastc under the buttons on my t60p cringed when he contacted the lowercase. I fixed it by castration a little silicone on a cloth and wipe the two areas of contact on the bezel and the lowercase. not more than plastic on plastic squeak.

    Cheers.

    Hello

    What now?

For unknown reasons, could my laptop speakers no sound.  In addition to investigation of Device Manager, noticed that this sound card has the installed Bluetooth headset.  In my anxiety to solve the problem, I accidentally uninstall and remove the Bluetooth driver headset & microphone.  Although I "return" my SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio drivers after reboot, I am now faced with the question of the peripheral device bluetooth is not available and the pop message each time that I reboot.  I tried to install it, but in vain.

What should I do to install the bluetooth device driver?

    Thank you very much.

  • T60 Portable appears on-screen Volume after has Hotkey of integration update

I have a laptop ThinkPad T60 (2008-HC6) running Windows 8 Pro (32 bit). Today (24/01/2013), I installed the 'Hotkey for Windows 8 features Integration' update which was released January 18, 2013. After the reboot, the display indicator pops up when I change the volume on my laptop by pressing the volume up, volume down, or disable the keys does not appear. The keys work fine, but the indicator does not appear.

I tried looking for an online solution. A common solution, installation of Lenovo Energy Management, does not solve my problem. No other software has been changed on my laptop between when the last power worked and when I installed the update of keyboard shortcuts.

I found the problem was with the "On Screen Display" of the update part. This particular update is in two parts to it. First, it adds the "Lenovo Patch Utility" program. Second, it updates the "On Screen Display" program, assuming that an older version was already on the computer updated. Adding the "Lenovo utility Patch" caused no harm, but the update of the "On Screen Display" prevents the on-screen indicator of volume display.

In the end, what I ended up doing took off the "On Screen Display" with the same utility as I used to be updated. Then I downloaded the latest next version of the utility and installed the version of the utility of the program "On Screen Display".

My volume indicator screen is now back and works well.

  • Problem with playing MP4 on a T60 1951-46U; problem does not exist on a T60 2623 - 4

I have three renovated seller ThinkPad T60 systems running XP Pro/SP3: two of them are T60 1951-46U, the third is a T60 2623-4.

A T60 1951-46U exposes a problem using VideoLan worm 2.0.7 to read MP4 files: video and game ok background music but the superposition voice is scrambled.

This problem does not exist on the two other T60s. All these systems are (more or less) the same setup.

Any help to fix this would be appreciated.

    Best regards

Hi, thanks for your response. Sheeplishly I have to say that I found the problem- and it has nothing to do with the T60 in question. Through several pluggings and unpluggins of the speaker cord while the problem has continued to exist at last, I found that the plug of the power cord 3 mm was did not correct contact then that in the audio port. Very strange problem. The background music in the video was ok, but not the vocal part of the audio. The one good thing that comes from the question is that I have found this community is and found that it is both active and reactive. Yet once, thank you for your reply (and I'll look into the ThinkVantage System Update for the driver updates). Best regards
