ThinkPad Tablet 2 - fingerprint reader

Hello

many ads and a first version of the technical specifications, was told that there is an optional fingerprint reader. It is somehow option has completely disappeared from the Lenovo Web site. At first, I thought that this option could simply not be in the final product. Now, I read again about this in an Australian magazine.

I was talking about the Lenovo sale cat today and I was told someone else that is not available right now, and it is not clear if it will be available in the near future and one that Lenovo still offers this option.

For me, it would be good to know if you have to wait a few weeks. I don't really understand the information policy of Lenovo.

  • X 200 fingerprint reader Tablet reads only in one direction

    Hi all

I bought an X 200 Tablet and I got free upgrade to Windows 7 from Lenovo. After I've manually upgraded from Vista to Win7 (not a fresh install), what's up.

The fingerprint reader works very well and he even kept my impressions of Vista. However, with Windows 7, I can just slide my fingers in one direction (from right to left, if you use the 200 X in the direction of the normal laptop). If you are a user of Tablet, you would know that there is a left and right 'tooth' that surrounds the player, allowing you to slide your fingers in both sense.

I tried to reinstall the software of fingerprint - as well as my stored reset reader fingerprints - but it only let me slip in one direction. If I slip my fingers from left to right, I get an error 'no match '. I erased my impressions and stored once again, drag from left to right with the screen to its normal position. Lenovo Fingerprint Software my impressions, but when I connect to Windows, I can still only slide from right to left. Is it a question of Win7?

I finally thought to it! I went to my device manager > biometric devices > one click with the right button on authentic Tech > properties. The pilot appeared to be outdated, so I tried 'Update Driver' for fun. Windows 7 has actually found an updated online version, and now it is updated to v.8.1.2.56, dated dated 07/07/2009. Now, I can slide my fingers from left to right or from right to left!

  • Fingerprint reader does not react anymore while the software seems to work (Thinkpad E530 Windows 10)

I used logg in via the reader of fingerprints (windows 10) with no problems, now the fingerprint reader does not react anymore when I pull the finger. I managed to remove all the passwords in the password manager (still not sure about it as I don't really understand how all the components work together) hoping that would solve the problem. Not the fingerprint reader software keeps asking me to register a new finger. Everything seems to work fine (I can pick a finger to be registered, type my password windowns) until I asked me to draw the finger on the fingerprint reader: nothing happens! The indicator that shows how the finger was scanned shows nothing at all. Looks like the software works, but the fingerprint reader itself is dead. However, looking into the information system the "TouchStrip Fingerprint Sensor' (WBF mode advanced) seems to work fine.

Help, please. I don't have any idea how to find out what's not here.

Thank you very much for the tip! He works in fact :-). Even if it does not seem logical to me, as I never put it in place a front pin - and fingerprint reader work very well even without PIN code. But who cares - the main thing is it works now! So thanks a lot again :-)!

    Hi Karlo,

  • ThinkPad W700 (2752-62U) and fingerprint reader

I got my new Lenovo W700 a few days ago and updated the preload system. Now, I had the problem that I can't record or use the scanner digital for anything whatsoever. I always get the message that "fingerprint reader cannot be initialized by this program, because access is denied' I've tried every username, administrator, same result! Can anyone give me a tip I can try? best regards Mike

Thanks for the tip, but also easy, it seems, an uninstall and reinstall of the software fingerprint on the scanner manually resolved the problem. It may be that uninstall it stops at the end and you need to cancel the process. Later, download the software from the homepage of Lenovo and install it. Who is and re-register fingerprints! Greetings

Now to your question... in addition to install the fingerprint reader driver, you must also install the Manager software security tools to protect in order to register your fingerprint.

  • Portege M700: Cannot use the fingerprint reader after update for Firefox 3

    Hey

I have a Toshiba Portege M700 Tablet and with the truesuite software on a fingerprint reader and password Bank plugin.

It's all working fine and dandy with firefox 2.
Then last night I went and updated for firefox 3 and now I can't log in to Web sites with the fingerprint reader.

No error messages, nothing. I can say that the truesuite or Bank password software is not detecting firefox 3. I've updated to the latest version that I could find, 2.0.2.0.

I found this thread by telling me the process of update of firefox it breaks and I should completely uninstall and reinstall firefox, which I did.
    That didn't fix it.

Then I completely uninstalled and reinstalled truesuite. That did not help either.
    Its still broken.

Anyone know a workaround or a way to fix this, or should I wait and see if there is an updated version of the password database? (I find it unlikely because this isn't really a standard program)

    Hello

I think that the new Firefox version is not fully tested and possibly it s not completely compatible with the 3rd party applications.
I remember the same problems with older versions of firefox. Finally, it has been resolved.

But why you don t use internet explore? As far as I know the fingerprint works without a problem

In any case if you want to continue to use the browser firefox 3 so I think that the only solution is to wait for an update.

  • Win 7 slow start - connection with fingerprint reader

    Hello

I have a T400s (2.4 GHz and 4 GB) with an Intel SSD and WIn 7 RTM with the last drivers beta of Lenovo.

I have the fingerprint reader enabled for the connection and my startup time of 35 seconds is now shared almost half in the connection of fingerprints and the other half in the rest of the startup procedure.

Or (the finger) described another way if the machine is turned off and I slide my finger to start the machine, it takes about 17 seconds before the fast logon is indicated.

Then the machine says 'pending' for 15-20 seconds during which my personal connection icon is flashing by until it ends the connection and almost immediately displays the desktop.

I am surprised by the very slow connection with my finger already slipped. It would be much faster to turn off fingerprint reader and connect using a password. Someone had this problem and knows how to fix?

Other problems with the boot, I found (and fixed) is the use of a solid as the Windows background color which, for some reason, costs about 15 seconds at boot time! I also had to reflash the firmware of my SSD to win 10 extra seconds at the beginning of the startup procedure.

    Carpet

    Hello again,

Sometimes I had to wait several seconds after sliding my finger, to the process of connection of kick. I checked the event viewer on my thinkpad T400 and found the security processes that are at work when loggin. I have excluded them from protection against viruses (Microsoft Security Essentials) and restarted the computer. When the logon screen appeared, I spent my finger and boom, the connection process began immediately.

    Excluded processes are:

    C:\Windows\System32\LogonUI.exe

    C:\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe

  • X 1 random behavior of yoga fingerprint reader

It is the second major problem with my X 1 Yoga. Not only the crash of driver touch screen "all the time" but the fingerprint reader does not about 30% of the time. Not sure what the cause/effect is because it is not consistent. For example, the light above it sometimes and you can unlock the device. Other times it is not and it either works or does not work. The light is so inconsistent that he is willing to unblock. Other times, perhaps from sleep or screen saver after having locked the machine, the only way is via the password.

As suggested by the support of Leonvo, I installed the latest drivers. But he has made zero difference.

  • W520 light by fingerprint reader

I just got a new ThinkPad W520 to replace my W510 and notice that I can't turn on with the fingerprint reader. My mark leads W510 is green when I opened the lid and not lit the W520. I can log on to Windows by using the fingerprint on the W520 reader but I have to turn on the power button. I compared the parameters between the two ThinkPads, and they seem to be the same. I have installed all the latest drivers and software for the W520, including the latest version of the BIOS. Any help would be appreciated.

You must install Thinkvantage Fingerprint Software and go to settings. There you can define market of fingerprints in the safety market.

Turn off completely. Comes on, then press Volume up a few times immediately after that.

Then use the options on the menu.

  • Want to fire green W701 fingerprint reader when the laptop is turned off

I realize the amount of electricity it uses is trivial, but unfortunately the accusation that carries the battery isn't much else. For the most part it's just because I don't have a use for the fingerprint reader. I completely uninstalled the software from the control panel. I thought that would get the light, but the "light on" survived the uninstaller not so complete.

I hope that there is a way to do it in the bios. If necessary I could re-download the software of fingerprint and do a from there, if possible.

It is possible to do anyway, please let me know. It's a minor thing, but I'm pretty annoyed that I'd make a sort.

When you turn on the computer (off-state), press F1 when you see the Lenovo logo (until the BONES start to load). "I think that you should find the fingerprints under security settings). It shouldn't be too hard to find.

Edit: Looks like that I don't remember it correctly. In the BIOS, you have the option to completely disable the fingerprint reader, but you do not have the option to turn off the green light only without disabling the fingerprint reader. If you want to disable the fingerprint reader completely turn off the computer, then turn on and press F1 when you see the Thinkpad logo (prior to the OS). When you enter BIOS click protection on the menu, and then select access to the Port of IO. In this list, you should have the ability to disable the fingerprint reader that I am sure that will also disable the go-ahead since the sensor is no longer in use. Press F10 to save and exit from BIOS.

To remove the green light only, or disable the option to turn on your computer by sliding the finger without completely disabling the fingerprint reader, in my view, you must reinstall the fingerprint reader software. Then, you must open the application after installation and type your password or by the finger scan enter enter parameters. Then click the settings button in the toolbar and you should have several tabs where you can turn off the green light or disable the use of fingerprint predesktop authentication.

  • Fingerprint reader is not detected

    Hello

I currently have a thinkpad T400 2767 and until a few weeks ago, it was working fine, but then I got an error device not recognized in windows and the fingerprint reader stopped working. I rebooted and it was gone. Not in Device Manager, or even in the BIOS options. I googled and can't find someone with the same problem.

I was wondering if anyone has recommendations, and if the purchase a new drive would solve the problem, because I know they're tempremental.

    Thank you

This seems to have solved the problem.
