ThinkPad W510 multiple displays.

First of all I would like to say hello to everyone. Jacek of my name and I really enjoy the use of Lenovo products .

My question is... What is maximum amount of LCD monitors I can use simultaneously with geForce Quadro FX 880 m and nView software. Should what accessories I use four LCD screens?

Jacek.

According to this:

http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/W-series-ThinkPad-Laptops/how-can-I-support-more-than-one-external-Displ...

... it is not possible to hang four screens in the machine. Three is a bad experience, two seems to be that the most he can manage comfortably.

Additional screens puts a large load on the graphics card and a mobile workstation, which is a lot ask.

  • Lenovo will replace their dead thinkpad w510?

I wonder if anyone runs into this problem before!

After purchasing thinkpad w510, less than 40 days there are a lot of problem with the machine. First of all, heat, squeaky noise, key board is not function and another problem. I had my machine send in 5 times and my main Board has been replaced 4 times. Not to mention many others changed during the repair period. whenever I got the back of the machine I found other problems occur. So I call ibm lenovo officials and said there is no point to send the machine for repairs because it continues to cause the same problem. Officials put me on the phone with the Manager, then the Manager put me on the phone with the task force ibm Lenovo to get this problem taking care. I told the Manager and the person of the task force, I am concerned about the quality of this machine because it was mentioned repair 5 times with all the parts that I can and I know some parts are redevelopment of parts. I fear that it is not the fact that I paid full price for the machine up to the standard of quality. If the person I spoke to at lenovo lthey said ibm will present this case with lenovo and will probably send me the new machine. I wonder if anyone has this situation happen before?

Lenovo decided to replace my machine with the same model, which will be the ship directly from their factory. I hope this one will work flawless.

Same Lenovo have such a problem with their model W510, I have to give credit to their technician to try to repair the unit, and their customer service is first their client. At least, it's thanks to my experience!

  • ThinkPad W510: No Audio output device is installed error

Hello and thank you in advance for your time!

Earlier this afternoon, I noticed that the sound on my Thinkpad W510 not working. I had not really done anything of note with my computer just updated Adobe Reader to v9.2, I can think about. When I checked the notification area, I saw this:

However, when I right click and click "Reading devices", I get the following:

Immediately, I checked the Device Manager and found that everything seemed to go well:

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers Conexant and NVIDIA, as well as update BIOS. Nothing seems to help,

When trying to use the mute/volume buttons on the keyboard, press mute speaker lights up when you press on, but the microphone mute and volume keys +/-do not seem to do anything. I also tried to plug in headphones, and which makes no difference.

All you people can do to point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello MTryder and welcome to the community,

  • Multiple display on N500

I tried to use an LCD tv as a second monitor without success.

I think that it the problem is that the graphics options is programmed for a simple screen only.  How can I enable multiple display option?

    Lenovo N500

Mobile Intel (r) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

    Thanks for your suggestions

Normal laptop, you would hang on the second screen to the back of the unit. Then watch you F key. F5 usually has a top screen. Press f5 and must be changed. Again and you can end up with two screens to work.

Good luck and may not be the f5 key, you see that we have monitors on it.

  • ThinkPad W510 display dies randomly and then machine shuts

the last two days, that my machine has suffered an accident with similar symptoms.

Firstly, the screen turns white. I can see some disk activity. It continues perhaps 20-30 seconds, and then the machine stops. Yesterday, I had to restart the machine twice b/c the first attempt has also led to a stop during the boot process.

I thought that maybe it was an overheating issue, but I'm not convinced of that because today nothing no hindrance exhaust evacuates (if they were a little dusty).

I'm runing 7 pro 64-bit windows. Have a NVidia card, but I don't know the details. Where can I find them?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think 60 c you would enter into the territory of thermal protection, but you can pull on the keyboard and give the machine a good PEAR dust blower. Be sure to hold the fixed fan blades using compressed air and the shot of the Interior through vents.

Edit: In addition, by pulling the keyboard bezel looks like it would give even better access to the fan / exhaust vent for a good dusting areas.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - multiple display after Exchange screen problem

My laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro PSPA6A-028017 with Nvidia GeForce Go 7900GS

OK, here's the story. I turned on my laptop about a week ago and the screen is blank. I plugged in a monitor external via AVI and tried Fn + F5, but nothing. When the computer reboots, the external screen worked. When I tried to turn on/off displays the external monitor is turned off and I found myself with an empty screen - I was obviously spent on screen of the laptop but working blind, I couldn't work out how to get the external monitor to start again. FN + F5 did nothing.

At that point, I called Toshiba for the support of the warranty (on-site, next business day). They had a technician with new monitor/display on site the next day (after a few calls me to follow up). It has replaced the screen but struggled to lift the screen up and running. He finally managed to logon Windows safe mode and get running but only display on 800 x 600. It has updated the Bios and drivers. He could then up to the 1024 x 768 resolution. Highest and the screen would be left empty.

At that time we plugged in an external monitor via VGA. It worked, but the technician couldn't get the each display to run on each resolution. He left him speechless and he acknowledged that things still are not good. Later, after that the technician had left, I managed to get views working so each to their own resolution. However, I could not always connect the external monitor via DVI (VGA only). I was at least temporarily to work!

The next morning that I turned the laptop on to find that I was back was started. No display on the laptop and on the external monitor only low resolution. It seems that the external monitor is simply cloning which should show the computer screen.

Under the display properties > settings the display shows:
    1. (multiple screens) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
2 Dell G2410 (Analog) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

I know that when everything is working properly, he said not many monitors. The only screen I see is the Dell external monitor. And when I identify the Dell screen is no 1, even if it's not listed number 2.

I don't know anything about the cards video etc, but a theory I have is that adapter is defective and is only show the analog signal. That is why I think that the screen of the laptop and external monitor (connected via DVI) works not done the external monitor connected via VGA (but it seems to be imitating the screen of the computer, allowing only the laptop screens range of resolution). Is that possible?

Someone at - it ideas? The problem is likely to be the video card? I'm puzzled. I'll have to get the technician on the spot back (which will probably still 2 days and several calls, follow-up) and I don't want to lose any time. I have a business to run and I have now lost a weeks work already. If I can offer some strong theories before the technician comes on the spot, sometimes we can get parts ordered in advance.

My warranty expires in a few weeks, so obviously I want this fixed correctly in the shortest time. I don't want to wait 2 days for a technician to come and have to wait another day or two for parts.

    Help, please!

    Thank you
    Ghjghj

It is not easy to offer the correct answer and explanation why this happens here on the forum. In laptop cases should be tested with diagnostic tools to ensure that what is the problem.
OK, exchange of display was a step in the right direction but, of course, this question is more complicated and doesn t happen due to the defective screen only.

I agree with Akuma and also thinking that there must be a hardware problem on the motherboard. Before the expiration of the warranty, you should contact the service again and let check portable equipment.
The fact is, if there is that no book of hardware malfunction should work fine preinstalled with delivered recovery image (Toshiba CD/DVD recovery facilities).

Please, don't wait too long and contact ASAP. They check your laptop. the warranty is still valid and your laptop needs to be repaired.

    Good luck!

  • Vista will not recognize the projector connected for multiple display

I'm under a system dual boot with Windows XP and Vista.  When running under XP, I doesn't hurt to connect a projector to my laptop and extend the desktop on the projector for meetings and others.

When I am running Vista, it does not even recognize that the projector is connected.  However, once I have connected the projector, if I reboot the system, it will then display on the projector.  If I disconnect the projector, the screen does not reappear on the screen of the laptop, I have to restart, with the projector removed for office reappear on the screen of the laptop.  I'm hoping to get multiple monitors to work with Vista, as it does in my XP boot.

For the purpose of the next presentation running in XP is not an option.

    Hi cptrigeek

Try these steps and check if that helps:

Method 1: We can try to perform a power cycle of the projector.

Remove the cable from the power of the projector and this continues for 5-10 minutes. Also do the same for the laptop, Dungeon, it off. Then put back in place and start the projector. Now, start the laptop as well. Connect now. Now, you will need to install the driver for it (if there is one). After which, you need to configure the settings of the laptop.

Method 2: Check the following steps:

    1. connect the projector to your Windows PC. NOTE: the following steps apply if you use your PC in MIRROR mode only.

    2. on the screen of the computer, right CLICK on the desktop and select Properties.

    3. click on the SETTINGS tab. If you want that your displays in mirror (what you see on laptop, it's what the public sees) you must make sure that the box "extend my desktop to this monitor" is DISABLED. If you see a box of "mirroring", remember to check it out.

    4. drag the slider to 1024 x 768 screen. As a general rule, the external monitor may limit this parameter. If your screen is higher, it might not display on the projector, then you want to test this until you're ready to take the floor. Drag the color to highest (32 bit) if available or medium (16 bit) quality if the first is not available.

    5. now select FN and press the function key. This key is usually given by a small screen icon, the CRT/LCDtext and is usually found on F8 or F5 even. Press the appropriate operation button ONCE and wait. After a few seconds, the second screen should light up. Be patient, it may take up to 5 seconds. On the projector, it may take up to 10 seconds for the projector to detect your system and switch. Note: a second press of this function (in general) will switch to monitor EXTERNAL only. A third press stop INTERNAL onlyand the circle for each push after that. Also note that some laptops can do this sequence in a different order, so learn your system so that you can quickly to the desired mode.

    6. click on the ADVANCED button. If 'apply the new settings to display without restarting' is not selected, select it. Under screen refresh rate, select 60 Hz. click APPLY and CONFIRM the choice. Click OK to close the ADVANCED options dialog. Close the display properties dialog box. You should now see a mirroring of your monitor on the second monitor.

    7. test: A test, disconnect the second monitor. put your mobile PC to sleep. He wakes up and let it fully come (login if necessary), and then reconnect the external monitor. On some machines, he needs to quickly display the screen in the last known state (you may need to wait up to 10 seconds). If it is not correctly displayed, press the switch function, ONCE. Yet once, note that it can take up to 10 seconds to view, so be patient. If only the projector display now, some pressure on the function switch key should provide for both screens again. If you can't get the projector to display, check all your connections and settings above.

8 Note that when you use the projector, after pressing the function for changing the monitor button, it may take up to 10 seconds for the monitor find and block on your machine. Just wait. Pressing on the keys new fkey can simply ruin your settings or turn off the projector.

    9. not all laptops work the same way. Please make sure you learn how your work before you get to your presentation.

    (Not mirrored)

    1. If you do NOT want mirrored poster (display of different internal and external), CHECK the box next to the line that reads "extend my Windows desktop to this monitor." This SHOULD result in the external monitor display an image which is an EXTENSION of the current desktop.

    2. in the settings dialog box, the internal monitor appears as a '1' and externally as a '2 '. Click ONCE on the '2 '.

    3. with '2' selected, drag the Screen Resolution slider to the left or to the right until the resolution reads "1024 x 768". Also affect the quality of the highest (32-bit color) if available or average (16 bit) if the first is not available.

    4. click on the ADVANCED button. If 'apply the new display settings without restarting' is not selected, select it.

    5. Select the MONITOR tab. Under screen refresh rate, select 60 Hz. click APPLY and CONFIRM the choice. Click OK to close the ADVANCED dialog box. Your system is now set for an extended desktop. When it is connected to the screen, you may need to use the function switch key to turn once more on this option, but on systems that I tested, the extended desktop comes just when the monitor is connected. Yet once, I suggested some tests with this mode of knowing how your laptop will perform when connected to an external monitor before coming to speak.

    6. notes that, in this mode, items moved to the extended desktop can be "lost" it if the external monitor is disconnected because they live on the extended desktop is no longer available. Also note that if the extended desktop is turned on, this part of funds 'second' can continue to live, which means that the cursor and the object can be moved off the screen in this sector and not be visible on a single internal monitor. To resolve this problem, do a right-click on the desktop, select Properties, select settings, click on the '2' box and UNCHECK the extend option. Items left on the extended desktop should now align the right edge of the internal display.

  • Problem with the extended help display option for multiple displays.

I have a laptop with an internal (#1) designated as my screen main screen. At work, I like to use the 'extended display' option for several screens to use the external desktop as #2 display monitor. However, at home I have the screen internal one on my laptop. So when I open an application like Excel at home, the window does not appear, but the application is running, as I confirmed with the Task Manager. So far, the only way I know to solve this problem at home is to change my display settings for multiple views to show on display #1 only. Is there a practical way to deal with this issue in addition to change the display settings whenever I move from work to home and vice versa?

    One way is
Create dynamic content of PL/SQL and enter the source of the region, something like

    BEGIN
      htp.ulistOpen;
      l_arr := APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(:P51_EMP);

  • Satellite Pro C50 - A PSCGBE Multiple display

    Hello guys,.

I've got Satellite pro with processor Intel i5 and GeForce GT740M, I'm having difficulties with the help of 2 screens outside and built in display, I mean, I should be able to view via Intel HD4000 on two and via GT740M on the other hand, it does not work, I installed the drivers for two video cards, but still it does not work , are there any other specific drivers that would allow that?

Thanks a lot for your help

    Master brewer

Without additional devices, you can use only 2 screens simultaneously.
    Internal and external display.

If you want to use 3 monitors (1 x internal x 2 external) at the same time you must connect an additional device: something like Dynadock U3

In fact, I have a VGA screen and the second on DVI. I have a DVI splitter on who I like TSE would connect display a third

    Thank you

Radeon HD 3100 can support three screens.  Using a divider on the DVI, if it works, only give you the same as the other DVI display shows.  A choice to add a 3rd monitor would be to use a INSTRUMENT SIMILAR to THIS.  It connects to the computer with the USB and then on screen 3.

  • T530 multiple display configuration

I have the T530 with NVIDIA Optimus option that should allow a triple (two external displays and laptop LCD) display configuration.

I was able to get a job with computer configuration portable LCD and two external displays on DisplayPort through the docking station.

I found on some startup programs, I'm either stuck with just the laptop LCD as the view-only or that I am able to turn on a single screen. Sometimes a reboot it will change, sometimes it won't.

What is strange, is that the NVIDIA Control Panel and the Windows display settings show all three screens LCD, I'm not able to turn on one or both of the external screens (even if I turn off the laptop LCD).

Someone at - he found a solution to this problem?

    Thank you!

    Hi, admarsha

There are available for your BIOS and Optimus updates that can help with this. The update of the BIOS can be found here and the Optimus update can be found here. Research on the file Readme for the Nvidia update, part of the update help issues related to several screens via a docking station, so it may be useful.

  • Multiple display IMac?

I think to buy a new iMac to double as a work computer and a media center. Can I connect a 2nd monitor split screen and also the iMac hooked up to my TV to watch media. Also can the iMac screen turn off while the TV is the main screen?

Audit of the new iMacs technical specification,

    21 "include at least:

"Support simultaneous native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840 x 2160 pixels on an external monitor.

"Extended support to desktop and video mirroring modes.

    27 "have at least:

"At the same time supports the native resolution on the built-in display and up to two external displays 4096 by 2160 or a 5120-by-2880 double-cable external display.

"Extended support to desktop and video mirroring modes.

    http://www.Apple.com/iMac/specs/

You will simply need DisplayPort and DisplayPort Cables for HDMI cables to go to the second monitor or HDTV.

I'm not sure about the iMac screen turning off while watching on the other screen.

  • Lenovo Thinkpad x 201 display problem

OK so I probably never have the strangest problem with this laptop, so the problem started when the screen no longer works correctly and would work only at a certain angle or when you apply slight pressure on a certain part of the screen, the correct faulty monitor? evil. When I uninstalled the drivers of gpu back on the display adapter and intel standard microsoft all of those problems disappeared, screen would work at all angles and the display would be no problem, so that amounts outside the ability of the monitor being faulty. The display begins to have these problems every time that the intel display drivers are installed, it blows my mind just how it is still something. The screen blinks twice and turns off after windows is done begin when intel drivers are installed and works perfectly without them, Ive did everything and spent more than 10 hours to the issue of fixing, I don't know what's wrong.
IM ready to send the laptop in case I need to.

I find it strange that a driver will react at the corner of the screen. That's why I tend to think of a hardware failure.

Can you put the drivers you are using? I check tonight against those I have in mine X 201
