This book has been returned.  Loan not on file

I used Adobe Ed dig on a Windows XP-based computer for years without any problems.  I recently opted for Windows 8.1 and reinstalled Adobe FROM and crossed the stage of authorization for the computer.  Then I downloaded two books from the library and read them without any problem.  However, the next time I tried I came across problems.  I am able to download the books to Adobe OF.  I can open the books in FROM Adobe (but it would be difficult to read in ADE on the computer, due to no formatting). I can copy the books in my corner, similarly I always, and they appear in my corner.  But when I try to open in the corner, I get "error dialog box - this book has been returned.  "Loan not on file".

I've disabled Virus protection and tried again, with the same results.

Any help?

It is an older issue with lunch to 4 of the ADE.  You will have to uninstall ADE4.x and revert to the version 3 of ADE.  Then you probably need to allow the verse 3 of ADE, out ADE, then come back and re - authorize.  Then it won't work.

We have forgotten the password. is there a way to reset the password or to disable it without the password?

    Hello

Download and run the http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/conadvpass.html program (if you are able to access the site)

    If not, perform this task:

"If you have forgotten the password of Access Manager, you can remove it by accessing this folder in Regedit (don't forget to back up your registry first):

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

    CurrentVersion\Policies\Ratings

Select the key called icon in the right pane and press on delete. Close Regedit.

Now, you can start Internet Explorer and goto tools, Internet Options... Select the content tab and click on disable. When asked a password, do not write, just click OK. This will disable access Manager, since nothing is more a password. You can enable it again as soon as invent you a more memorable password"

There is no file with this name in Windows XP.  It was probably part of a virus or spyware infection that has been partially removed. Run a full scan for virus/spyware.  If the problem persists, use the free Windows Sysinternals Autoruns tool to find and remove the reference to the file.

    Hello

You really need a little more information such as operating system, memory, etc.

Usually a mistake like this happens because a background process is running and interfere with the available RAM, not enough virtual memory (Windows), drivers of HW obsolete or just an incomplete installation.

Or, one of the biggest problems is add-ons in internet browsers.

Alternatively, another problem of Lightroom, no sufficient permissions on the directory where you import image files.

Please provide a little more information.

  • All the messages in my Inbox display a response message has been sent, even if no message has been returned. How can I fix it?

    Hello

I had set up a POP3 to my gmail account when I was away from the office to set up an office off so when I got home, because I is more necessary than this account and it was causing some problems for me, I deleted it. I think that's when the question began that I describe in the subject line: all messages in my Inbox display a response message has been sent, even if no message has been returned.

Is there a way to fix this?

A side-question: I used the POP3 account to respond to some emails so I was missing and since deleting that account, I can not longer see these details... message there at - it a way to recover these?

  • A previous version of Firefox killed Zone Alarm - this problem has been corrected?

During installation, the previous version of Firefox update, it showed a box on the screen saying that he had found a file mismatch in the ultimate security alarm Zone and has been deleted. Without more explanation - and no way for me to say 'yes' or 'no '. Of course, the ZA Panel showed that I was not protected. Unacceptable. Went to IE, with the MS Firewall and anti virus, crossed my fingers, toes, eyes, etc. and are back online. Finally managed to download Zone Alarm - took a big piece of my Verizon monthly data allowance. Switched to Chrome, it plays well with ZA but I use Firefox instead. So - this fester has been fixed. It is safe to return to Firefox? May 23, 2014

Firefox does not disable the separate applications such as firewall and antivirus. Yes, we know that Zone Alarm itself is not an add-on for Firefox.

The message said that the Zone Alarm associated Extension that you had at the time was not compatible with this version of Firefox, you got in time. Separate Zone Alarm should have been still very well.

It is also not the work of the Firefox browser to be made compatible with the thousand of Extensions out there, but reverse.

I burned my address book on a CD. When I try to open the file, I get the following message: "address book has been locked by another application. Please, close other applications and try again.  How can I find what is the other application?

    Hi JimSpell,

This problem occurs if the Windows address book file used by Outlook Express is marked with the read-only attribute.

Follow these steps to solve the problem.

    a. Click Start, point to find and then click files or folders.
    b. in the search for files named, type: *.wab.
NOTE: If you find more than one .wab file, make the following changes for all files.
    c. click file .wab you find. On the file menu, click Properties.
    d. in the Properties dialog box, under attributes, clear the read-only check box.
    e. click on apply and then click OK.
    f. open Outlook Express and test a new e-mail message or try to access the address book.

I'm trying to connect with my XBOX 360, and it said to open Windows Media Center.  I clicked on start, then went to where Windows Media Center has been. I clicked on that and it says "this program has been removed."  Huh!  Is there anyway that I can download the program, or something?  Or is it IN the Windows during the programming?  Info/comments will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

You could try to control Windows Media Center via Control Panel / programs and features / Turn Windows Features on or off / multimedia / Windows Media Center, make sure that it is checked.

System Restore will not uninstall or reinstall your entire operating system, take your machine over time until the selected restore point (you choose) and load Windows from this date and time.  Programs and updates that have been installed since that date and time are no longer available and need to be reinstalled.  System Restore will also leave you a "Undo" restore point which allows you to return to the present before the start of any restoration.  It also gives you an option to check what effect the return to a previous era will have on your program installed, etc..  It does not affect your personal data, applies only the settings, system files, programs, drivers, and updates.

    Title: original operation canceled
When I start right click then properties, this happens "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on your computer. Please contact your system administrator. "Same thing happens when I click on the taskbar and Start Menu. Also, there are very few programs listed in the start menu. Can someone find it?

If you see things like this:

You do not have sufficient security privileges to restore your system.
The System Restore tab is missing from the my computer properties.
System Restore has been disabled by group policy.  To turn on system restore, contact your domain administrator.
The System Restore tab is available, but the turn off System Restore (disabled by Group Policy) box is grayed out.

The "Run" option is missing from the start menu.
The option "Log off."... ' is missing from the Start Menu.

The usual advice are something in the sense of "something has been disabled in the group policy...". ", and it is probably true that something has been disabled, but you know what something is and what it takes to do about it.

If you are using XP Home Edition, you will get away with advice to use the Group Policy Editor, since it has no Group Policy Editor in XP Home and only
really does not tell you where to look in group policy, even if you run the Group Policy Editor.

You need a complete solution that works for all versions of XP and requires no hunting around in the Group Policy Editor or registry to find where things are that have been disabled.

Unless you have disabled these things on purpose, chances are good that your system has a malware infection.  The malware knows what tools you use to try to find and remove, for the malware disables the things you are more likely to consume and prevents them from running if you can't find the malware and remove it.

If your system has this kind of affliction, all malicious software tools you currently use or have used failed to protect your system so that you can expand your horizons malware detection and prevention to prevent these kinds of afflictions in the first place.

The malware will be happy you trick into thinking that you need to so something drastic to fix your system - as a facility repair, system restore point or a total reinstallation of XP.  This is what it would be like you, but these measures are not necessary.

You must solve the immediate problem of the tools does not, then scan your system for malware when you are finished.

No matter what kind of malware you've used analytical tools, they are unlikely to solve this problem, because they cannot tell if the changes made to your system have been on purpose (you or an administrator who makes them) or some malware changed them, so the analysis tools will let these things alone (it's usually a good thing).

If your system is afflicted in this way, there are probably other things that also do not work - like the registry editor, System Restore and the command prompt, so fix them all at once even if you have not discovered they are broken again.

These commands from registry removes the registry entries that are stop opening programs.  Although the registry entries do not exist, these commands are safe to run and will work for all versions of XP.

Before making any changes to your registry, back up the registry with this free and popular tool:

Open Notepad to create a new text file:

Save the new text file with extension .reg on your desktop or somewhere you can remember with a name you can remember, something like:

    enableit.reg

After you save the file, close Notepad.

Locate the file enableit.reg on your desktop and double-click it.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the enableit.reg file, choose open with... and select the registry editor.

Answer in the affirmative to the question... Are you sure you want to add the information in the registry?

You should then see a message that information has been registered in the register.

    Reboot your system and test.

You can delete the enableit.reg file when you are finished.

If the registry editor has also been disabled, we first fix (not a problem).
