  I am attaching a link to a screenshot to show what I mean. I have three problems trying to get the layout the way I like it. Basically, I'm trying to get all toolbars in one line to maximize efficiency and screen space.

  1: (shown in blue on the attachment)
  The navigation bar is too wide. In a previous answer, someone suggested modifying the userChrome.css file, but I don't have such a file in my Mozilla Firefox program folder.

  2: (shown in orange on the attachment)
  Even when I put all the toolbars on one line there is a large space under my toolbars. FYI there is no object (e.g. spaces) in this area when I go to 'customize '.

  3: (shown in red on the attachment)
  I have 5 webpages I want to access quickly, next to the navigation bar. Firefox list 4 of these pages, and then a drop down containing the rest of a page. If I delete one of these bookmarks it displays a drop-down menu for a more, while the navigation bar grows to consume even more space and 3 pages (!?). There is enough room for all 5 pages next to the navigation bar if I could get this drop down menu to disappear.

  Global Firefox seems to have done a good job by allowing the user to customize the toolbars, but it seems there is to do.

  Is that space empty of the bookmarks bar? If you click the Firefox button, go to the arrow next to Options and uncheck bookmarks bar, who goes there?

• Three problems needing help

  Hello out there, I have Windows 7 home and office on an old Dell that is six years old.

  It seems that if I have three problems maybe not connected.

  I installed the update simplified Chinese but do not see it as an option in the taskbar. It STILL shows only English for the US or Australia in option. The elanguage Chinese update was ranked managed in my updates BTW.

  I have Skype and every time I do an Audio check the microphone does not work. For some reason any driver for the microphone is not listed as an option, although the speakers work now. Maybe I do need to update the drivers for the Dell printer, but I don't know how and I don't get live chat with Microsoft.

  I have run a check of the hardware (which has not yet finished), but I am aware that everything works fine. Here are software problems.

  This is usually caused by the Palm spraying it on the touchpad. Disable the touchpad, the problem will be solved.

• Windows 8-three problems that can actually be a problem.

  Ramesh.Kudar. before I read your email.  I have somehow stumbled upon a fix for all of my questions - a mystery to me.   I could always make changes in other areas of the management of Add-ons, but I could not activate my three search engines.   I decided to try to make these changes in Mode safe and noticed that there was only a single listed search engine and I was able to remove it.  At the bottom of the management of Add-ons is the link "more about search engines.  When I click on this option it took me to www.iegallery.com.  I then clicked on modules and added Yahoo, Google, Bing and was finally able to connect to internet in Mode without failure.  While still in Safe Mode, I tried KB2871389 & KB2917499 because these are the two files that my computer said that I needed to go to 8.1.  I was able to download the files but couldn't install them because I was in Mode without failure.  Previously, in Normal and safe mode I could make any changes to Internet Options.  I was now finally able to make changes in my LAN settings and check the box 'automatically detect connection settings' and uncheck 'The Proxy Server... ».  This time, when I hit apply and Ok the changes remained.  I restarted my computer and when he returned to the top updates have been installed.  Given that I could now use the internet, and the necessary files have been installed, I was able to access the Store and download 8.1.   Thanks again for your help.   Given that I spent the last months of struggling to solve a problem after another after receiving bad updates, your information on change just TCP/IP settings could be useful.

• Reading itunes through stereo problems

  Phono may be amplified as decks usually have a built-in preamp have other devices. Try other inputs "line level".

• Scanning takes forever

  After update to Sierra, Photos is scanning through the 'people' in my pictures of 190 000 +.  According to some pictures of thousand, he finished on the first day, it could take eight weeks or more to complete the process.  It's crazy!

  Me too. I love the Photos, but face detection is not something I want. Now here I am with my iMac scanning day and night. 26 000 scanned and 160,000 to go

  I'll accept that, ultimately, I have more options in organizing my work. BUT! My MacBook Pro runs pretty hot to burn me and the battery drains fast!

  All my photos are on external hard drives Thunderbolt and I hope that it won't take more than a week :/ What about people using hard drives slow? It's not really feasible. What constraint is applied to these hard drives with the excess heat of scanner and then time full connection once scanned?

• Access to Aperture library is corrupted

  I (accidentally and stupidly) disconnected external hard drive of my Macbook Pro 2015 (El Capitan 10.11.4) without eject after downloading pictures from a card in a 3.6 Aperture library. So I now can't come back in the Aperture library. I use a Capsule 2 TB for backup

  Here is what happened:

  • After you import the images successfully in a library Aperture since a card SD camera, I clicked on the dialog box to remove the images from the SD card and eject it (my normal routine).
  • Then, instead of removing the SD card, I accidentally unplugged the external hard drive instead.
  • When I opened opening (with the reconnected JEP), I got the following message:
    • There was an error opening the database for the library ' / Volumes/PCSP PROJECT PCSP/HD Image Library.aplibrary.
  • I leave Aperture and then it reopened and now pressed the keys Option and command (as shown).
  • This produces a dialog box with three repair or rebuild options. By clicking any option produces the result:
    • "Image Library" is Time Machine backup.  " Image Library" only opens for Time Machine to finish.
  • Time Machine did not back off. To be on the safe side, I then did a back up in Time Machine. I got the same results once more once the backup is complete. I tried again with Time Machine off. Always the same result.

  I tried power off of the laptop computer and the Time Capsule and restart them. No luck.

  I have now three problems:

  1. I need to change something in the system that says opening that it's OK to repair/rebuild the library
  2. I need to recover/repair my library
  3. And, absolutely, I want to get the pictures of 8-10 I was trying to download in the first place.

  I need some instructions very simple to achieve. While much, I use a computer for regular applications, I have instructions for treatment of difficulties on what is happening in the background - which guess I know what I want to. When I get a dialog box with options to choose from, unless I already understand what it is, I have some really bad. I am a retiree and there is still a lot of stuff tech that goes over my head.

  • I read somewhere that the program is being fooled by the existence of a file which makes mistakenly think Time Machine is in fact always save something.
  • I saw the reference to .plist and. InProgress files - but I'm pretty confused as to what & where they are and what they're doing - and what I would do with them.
  • It occurs to me that if I just restore a previous version of the library (from Time Machine) I will probably not recover photos that I had just downloaded.

  If anyone can give me some step by step instructions, I would be most grateful. These images relate to a project of the childhood care and means a lot to me (and others, too). In addition, all images have detailed metadata stored with them and so I'm eager to preserve it, too.

  Check, if there is a lock file in the Aperture library:

  • Select the library to open in the Finder, ctrl - click, and then select "view the contents of the package:
  • In the folder that opens, navigate to the Database/apdb/lockfile.pid folder.  If this file exists, move the file to the trash. Dn't touch anything else.
  • Close the window Finder and try to launch the opening.

  Does it work?
