Thunderbird 45.4.0 does not

I TB 45.4.0 by running on several platforms of Win10 (each with multiple e-mail accounts), but with one platform frequently goes "not responding" or tells me that my IMAP server was disconnected when I try to access the Inbox folder for a particular account on this platform (but I have no problem with this same box of reception/account on other platforms). Other records of this account on this platform are functioning normally, and other accounts on this platform are functioning normally. I tried to restart TB in safe mode on this platform with the same results. I have rebuilt the database world... with the same results. In order to reduce the workload, have limited synchronization for this account on this platform to ensure that the current day more and unchecked "Keep Messages on this computer". Yet, when I try to open a particular message in the Inbox folder for this account on this platform as TB tells me it's the download message XX of AAAA and numbers do not have any meaning. Looking at tools-> Activity Manager, I see that TB is indexing on several occasions various files sent from xxxx size, which do not correspond to all files sent to accounts in TB on this platform. Apart from the removal of the offending account and recreate my IMAP server, is there another way to fix this problem?

Have you tried right-clicking on the affected file (> properties), and then choose the File Repair?

Hi Sara, why did you install Thunderbird? What e-mail program you were before (for example, Outlook Express)?

  • Windows Mail-> Thunderbird. Online help does not program. How to import?

I'm trying to take the Thunderbird (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird#w_switching-from-windows-mail-or-windows-live-mail-to-thunderbird) online for converting Windows Mail to Thunderbird (no Live Mail). I'm at the stage of import. The instructions say:

"In Thunderbird, go to tools | ImportExport | Import all messages from a directory. Also to its subdirectories. »

Under Tools, there is import, but no footage. When the import option is selected, it does not allow a directory location, only what to import (Eveything, Mail, Contacts, etc.). When choose "Import all" and pressing 'Next' nothing is on the list to import. The button 'Next' does nothing and the Cancel button cancels the entire import.

Can you explain (or point to an article accurate and up-to-date on) how to import all messages (including local mailboxes and the structures of files kept intact).

    Thank you.

In the first paragraph of the section "Import Windows Mail Messages", it says you need to download and install the ImportExportTools add-on - we. Once installed, the relevant menu options will appear in TB.

  • Thunderbird 38.4.0 does not generate emails in response to the invitations

When I receive an invitation to an event in an email, Thunderbird identifies that it is an invitation and said "this message contains an invitation to an event" and shows the buttons allowing me to 'accept' or 'decline '. If I accept, the event is added to my calendar.

In Thunderbird 38.3 and previous, Thunderbird automatically generated and sent emails to the inviting, so that their calendar program knew who had accepted, refused and has not responded. Since the update 38.4, Thunderbird generates is more these emails.

It will generate an email if you delete an event on your calendar.

Thunderbird is our corporate email client and is very annoying.

Thunderbird version channel on Windows 7. I have not tried to reproduce this on other platforms.

I had an another add-on and removed. It made no difference.

    [EDIT]
As an experiment, I uninstalled 38.4 and installed 38.3. The behavior is the same, so there's something of 'broken' on my T-bird install. It's like something got put somewhere in my profile. Anyway, false alarm.

  • Hanging of Thunderbird 38, gel and does not question. 17 accounts pop (Win 8.1, MalwareBytes and Windows Defender)

Since the update of Thunderbird to 38.* I had nothing but problems with Thunderbird wedging (spinning wheel waiting), a "Mozilla Thunderbird (not answer) ' in the header bar, whiting of window application out and possibly TB box in hell - a small box to appear asking if I want to - close the program, expected so he can resolve itself , or check the internet, then close. I now give the floor it the box to hell (B2H - call it all you want, but I'm cursed every time he pop up!)

I did everything proposed here and nothing suits. I have used Thunderbird for years with all the same files and Add ons WITHOUT problem. On the first day of the 38 update everything has changed. When Mozilla realizes that it is in the upgrade and find the problem!

Here is what I tried with nothing working...
    1. I don't have AVG, the only malware bytes and windows defender
    2. it still happens in SafeMode with no active add-on.
    3. I stopped saving function which slows down the frequency of the sinking, but did not eliminate the problem.
    4. I have deleted hundreds of older emails, thinking it was that but who have done nothing.
    5. I changed some accounts of POP at the thought of iMAP that was the problem but nothing has changed.
    6. I made several attempts to patch both Mozilla support and outdoors on the net. Nothing works. Looking at all the people who have the same problems, I have to say that the problem is handling of file. I noticed that as the issue with others who have multi files and emails. The answer is not to reduce these volumes but to understand why thunderbird managed their fine before and what has changed to make the program hang now? Who should be on your end, taken responsibility. Keep us faithful and solve the problem...

    Here are my tips...

    A. I have several files and thousands of e-mails longer and have manged fines, as matter of fact, Thunderbird has been great. Then like a good stooge I approved the moz and did my upgrade to 38. Never had a problem before the upgrade. After the upgrade, everything went to *.

    B. the 38 version upgrade was a big change. When I look in the folder that has been labeled the envoys or Inbox folder (where all emails from each account is collected), all the emails listed would disappear when I moved my mouse over them! Emails disappearing! They were there in records specific e-mail below but not but in the case of head as if it were just a day earlier and with the upgrade. I thought that as an addition on the question and waited for the difficulty that happened not so long ago. Again, which could be a problem of record add-on.

    C. the upgrade to 38 were other issues, but if the madness going no problem was not bad enough, the problem seems to be growing with each ' update or bugfix that followed. Don't hold me to it but I think it was in 38.1.2 or 8 (I think that's it. I wasn't paying attention, but if I had known that I would have to tell it, I will!) That's when hanging interminably long. When the program closed at least I got a project saved, then I read on line that the problem was the registration of open messages, I turned the auto reduction. He did change the frequency of the hanging (white screen pause) and timing (where the B2H appears), but he was always there and always!

    D. I had hoped with 38.2 there will be improvements. Nothing has changed. I didn't know that 38.3 would make this change/fix, but it's not. If I write all this, so you have what I know as a loyal user since 2007.

    E. here is what you need to complete the picture. I'm on a PC running 8.1. on an Intel i7-4770, with 32 GB of ram, now you tell me when you will issue the update to fix the problem! Once again, Mozilla, I suggest you start by looking at how TB 38 manages several emails, files and archives. Not all of us have only one e-mail account. Most of us have been really happy with TB before 38. If you can't find the question, can you show us how to get back to a version prior to 38?

Thanks for listening and hope that helps!
    @v @.

  • Thunderbird 38.2.0 does not check for incoming mail, freezing

I used Thunderbird for years without problem. Update 38.2.0 was so bad for me that I had to uninstall it. Questions:

    (1) would not check for incoming mail
    (2) popped up the windows of information that had no text and even not closing "x" in the corner (although I could click the right superior whiteness and she closed)
    (3) screen would freeze. At least the closing 'x' still - working but it's the only thing that makes.

Every update I've ever had until this has been perfectly integrated. This one was painful.

My question is when there's an update to correct these problems?

Please update to version 38.3.0 which came out today. Will probably solve your problem.

    Is this better?

  • Thunderbird 38.2.0 does not export the addresses in any mode using a Mac. Yosemite

Thunderbird 31.7.0 doesn't have this problem, that is, I can export address .ldif, .text, or .csv. Export to 38.2.0 leave all fields empty in all cases.

In addition, there are the top bar half cut into 38.2.0, not so in the 31.7.0 previous version. . Finally, I wanted to add a screenshot here, but could not do. the wheel turned.

    Thank you.

You must select the address book each time you do the export.

  • Thunderbird 38.2.0 does not automatically check messages

After the upgrade to Version 38.2.0, Thunderbird checks is no longer automatically messages even if it is set to do so every 10 minutes and the fact that very well since "forever". When the update was offered, I told TB to perform the update, but the process did something weird I got a message in the sense of «cannot find Mozilla» executable So, I downloaded a copy of 38.2.0 and installed on the old TB. This process completed correctly, and the program seems to run after that. Later, I realized that the program was not automatically check for messages. I get messages manually. I checked my server settings and they are unchanged since the last version that worked well. I restarted the computer (running Windows 7 Ultimate) several times in the course of a week or two, and the problem persists. I don't know what to do next. Although it is a simple matter of convenience, I would still enjoy the back of functionality. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Greg

A problem in this area has been fixed in version 38.3.0.
Someone at - he still sees the problem when using 38.3.0?
If this isn't the case, then we can close this topic.

  • Update to Thunderbird 38.1.0 does not support SMTP authentication (at least for me)

Not so much a question but a comment for other users. After having to turn Thunderbird for years. Great program. Updated to 38.1.0 this morning, after prompting and my ability to send electronic mail was immediately compromised (ability to receive was not affected). Tried a bit of tinkering (more disabled firewall, etc.) in vain and had to reinstall 31.7 to retrieve features. You will need to disable auto update the program tries to update itself again, I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone else encountered a problem.

Christ1 says offline believesthis add-on, installed in Thunderbird can offer a working connection until your get the rest. At this point it is all speculation on our part largely based on the bug report. But if you mind being the Guinea pig. Install it and let us know how it goes.

  • Thunderbird 31.5.0 does not work, I went back to 31.4.0 that works very well

This morning 27/02/2015, Thunderbird automatically upgraded to 31.5.0. When I tried to download emails it stuck at "connecting to Server" and never went further. I have now done a system restore and went back to the 31.4.0 version and everything works fine. I have in the meantime disabled the automatic upgrade feature until I am assured that this problem won't happen.

It seems that your firewall accepts even the old version and not the new updated version.

    Example: I use Norton Anti-anti-virus/firewall.
Sometimes, after an update, Norton still thinks it can afford than the previous version, so that you get the kind of error that you are experiencing. I then close Thunderbird and go to Norton. Settings > network > Smart Firewall > program rules localize Thunderbird and position the 'allow' once, I had to block, ok then reset allow.

If you are using another firewall/antivirus program, then there will be similar parameters. In order to check this first.

    > How much time your staff control these issues?

Maybe that's where the misunderstanding arises. We do not have a staff. Thunderbird is open source, everyone here is a volunteer support overworked on their own time and dime. Yes, I'm a moderator. But I have no authority, nor the additional powers nor the additional tasks and responsibilities. I have this up to allow me to do special things in the forums.

Thank you for hanging there with Thunderbird. Feel free to hang around and help other Thunderbird users. We welcome your contributions to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/thunderbird small or large.
