Thunderbird doesn't remember my profiles

Thunderbird is giving me a very strange problem, when I try to load, I get the following error message:

"Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

I can solve this problem and get Thunderbird to load by opening the Profile Manager and recreate my profile. HOWEVER, once I've finished and close Thunderbird, the problem comes back as soon as I open Thunderbird again. Even if I reopen it immediately after closing.

In other words, Thunderbird can't remember I actually did a profile of job and he forgets as soon as it is closed. force me to go in the Profile Manager and recreate it every time that I want to use Thunderbird. Is it possible to fix this?

Deleting profiles.ini caused Thunderbird to open normally, from there I was able to create a profile that Thunderbird now properly remembered when I close and reopen.

  • Windows 7 doesn't remember the folder views.

original title: Windows 7 doesn't remember the folder views. Microsoft is pathetic.

Once more, I find it quite pathetic that Microsoft Windows 7 as Vista, such as Windows XP and all other operating systems M$ has developed can not EVEN remember the layout for the records.

What is THE POINT of having more customization options in solution for users to set, Explorer if your code Explorer STUPID don't even BOTHER to remember. Users bother to customize their desktops and file only to discover that their work is broken as soon as the PC restarts or in Windows 7 Decides to forget or to crush stuff in the registry.

It is also pathetic that M$ has removed most of the "individual" customization of Windows XP folder now opt for a "point of view fits all approach!". (Ie the deletion of the folder option "View tab / remember this layout of records"). I can't decide if a file opening should have the "Navigation bar" to the left. Now, if a folder has the navigation bar, hey look, ALL MY FILES open with the navigation bar now! Yay! NOT.

Even with this, HE has YET to forget every customization that you made to your files!

Things going on in my head when I'm on Windows 7:

Mmmm. I'd like my account to have this icon or bitmap image please. There we go, very nice. Reset. Mmmm. Why is he returned to show all the file type icons in this new folder. Oh God, worst yet! NOW ALL MY FILES ARE RETURNED TO THE DETAILS VIEW. B * llocks, I've spent hours a lot, a lot, a lot (over time) establishing this batch! Gee thanks to shake me more M$. You've obviously spent a lot of money and many hours asking your BETA users which would p * ss them off the most when you use Windows Explorer. Voice of tester beta geek: "uh Yes, I think I was very p * ssed if all of a sudden he returned for more details on all my folders in Explorer. Microsoft: "OK, we're going to take care to include that then...". "Everything what is p * ss you off." Geek: "Yes, while your at it, if the navigation bar appears on EVERY issue and doesn't even have a shortcut key, so I had to reach for my mouse and go to a menu rather than quickly display and hiding cases of need, which would probably be p * ss me off really bad." Microsoft: ' hey this is a great idea!

Folder view settings should be remembered INDIVIDUALLY for the love of God, on a folder by folder basis.

I think that the removal of this option, and becomes the fact that Microsoft have removed code rather that actually fixing the code first place is a sign of how pathetic software from Microsoft.

I hope Apple start to develop their PC rather than just Apple Mac operating system sometime in the future.

It will ultimately be the nail in the coffin for Micro$ and personally, I'll be happy to see the back of them.

I'm a PC and I am upset that Microsoft Windows Explorer doesn't bother to remember how I presented my files.

If you want to know what I'm talking about m $ look the Apple Mac operating system and copy what they do (you know, the usual).
At least they seem to know what I'm talking about.

If you think I'm the only one who is upset at this by the way: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&source=hp&q=windows+7+remember+folder+settings&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=0&oq=Windows+7+remember+folder&fp=a60718907b4ba39b

    DESIRED EFFECT

To have a folder and its subfolders all use the same view model AND having the view model to reflect the disposal of one of the folders.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

First, you must realize that Win7 treats these two very different applications:

    1. make subfolders use the same model from view as the parent folder.

2 configure how a view model is laid out.

My confusion is I thought that changing the layout of the folder parent by clicking on 'Apply to subfolders' it applies to the layout of the parent folder, but all it's means "all look to the model of display as well as the parent folder.

Understand that when you say "optimize this folder for: * music *" IT IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE THE LAYOUT of the folder! Only it it's a music folder (or general or images or other) and ALL TIME NOW ON the time the * music model is changed (via right click on any * music folder > organize menu > folder and search options > view tab > apply to records) THEN the layout PAGE ONLY will be updated.

So unfortunately, Xaero_Payne solution by itself will result in the 'problem' that everyone here seems to have. You do BOTH steps to make it work. (I know it's easy to chatting about M$, but instead of pi$ $ in the wind at home, we can as well get into their heads and understand how to use what we have).

    STEP BY STEP

You can do these two processes in any order, but I want to do such as this, because I can then more easily see changes. For the example below, I'll do their music files and I'll apply the Details view template.

R process: make subfolders using same view model

Right-click on the Parent folder that contains all of the subfolders > properties > Customize tab > check also apply... subfolders > select * music * (for this example) > apply then OK

Process 1: Customize and apply the provision of fashion model music

Find or create a folder you want to use the view model.

Select them * details * view (or list, large icons, etc.) and then customize the layout as you wish. Add new desired columns and rearrange them as you like.

Organize the menu > folder options and research > display tab > apply to records. THIS MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THIS PROCESS because otherwise he doesn't know you want ALL the * music * files to be like this.

  • Orchestrator device doesn't remember newspapers of Workflow

Our unit version: 5.1.0 build 2725

    Hello!

It is sometimes necessary to write information to a workflow with the Systems.log () method in the Logs Section of an Orchestrator Workflow. But unfortunately orchestrator doesn't remember the entry of these newspapers after logout?

    Example:

Very simple WF: enter text and save this text... nothing else, see pdf attachment

Then I entered 'Text1' and run the Windows Firewall:

    orchest-log-after-run.PNG

as you can see in newspaper it is my "Text1".

This log entry is recorded in the journal orchestrator:

    28 2013-03- + 0100 INFO [performance] 12:15:09.450 run workflow "paper method.
    28-03-2013 12:15:09.747 + 0100 [SCRIPTING_LOG] INFO [Log method (28/03/13 12:15:09)] Text1
    28 2013-03- + 0100 INFO [WorkflowHandler] log method 12:15:09.834

now I close orchestrator and you connect again and go to my previous WF run

    orchest-log-after-relogin.PNG

    The newspaper went! ??

I remember that newspapers must be in the orchestrator database as long I did not remove the completed wf run... and with the old version of the orchestrator unit, it was the truth... but now?

Any ideas to save the journal entries?

This is normal. If you want to keep the newspapers use Server.log

  • Multiple profiles can be addressed by running multiple installations of Thunderbird; rather than put several profiles on a plant?

Please don't laugh, but I'm running three quite separate mail programs Eudora on a PC; each one with a different email address. I have three icons, and emails are completely separate. I'm just trying to determine if I can do the same with Thunderbird. I know that you can configure multiple messages in a single installation, and then switch back within this facility. But I'm trying to see if I can keep doing what I'm doing now. I know that I have to open a new Eudora program for each email address, but I'm OK with that. Any thoughts?

Eudora becomes old and unstable, so I would go if I can.

    Thank you very much.

Although I don't really no why you must run multiple instances of tuberculosis, especially since the TB program folder and the profiles folder are separated, to do so are described here:

  • Why my new account Thunderbird doesn't see my migrated files, e-mail and account information?

Say goodbye to Win XP and installed Win 7 own. Have you tried 3 dif methods described in
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Profiles-TB#w_restoring-to-a-different-location (Restore
a profile backup, restore to another location, move a profile) to transfer my email
files/settings/accounts, but nothing comes up except for the account that is configured to install the
Thunderbird. I closed Tbird and restarted the PC, but none of my backup files.

    I read somewhere:
Find the 'Mozilla' (for Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey 1.x), "SeaMonkey" (for SeaMonkey 2),
'Firefox' or 'Thunderbird' folder in the path to the profile folder that contains the registry.dat
file or file profiles.ini and the folder "Profiles" (Windows and Mac)...

My understanding was that everything I was supposed to save the profile folder and everything below and transfer it to my new location Thunderbird Win 7. I have no registry.dat file or the file profiles.ini.

I came up with a method that has solved my original question. It is displayed in

  • Thunderbird not to remember a password by e-mail

All of a sudden today Thunderbird requires that I got my password by e-mail before it can connect and send an email. I checked the "Remember password" box and restarted Thunderbird, but again, it will ask for the password. I checked in the security settings to display the password and my password is there, but for some reason any Thunderbird just decided not to use the information that it holds. I have run Windows 8 and haven't added any new software or updates in addition to the automatic antivirus updates done. Is it possible to get Thunderbird to go back to the way it was and does not require a password every time I restart it. I have no interest in creating a master password. Thanks to anyone who can provide a response.

The Delete method and to return the password usually fixes the problem, but discussions mentioned above deals with situations more "disastrous."

Press Alt or F10 to display the Menu bar, and then select the toolbars under view/toolbars. Or use the AppMenu (3 bars horiz.) button.

  • Firefox doesn't remember the settings of the browser.

Every time I open firefox I reconfigure my preferences (homepage, internet history settings). This only happens when I close all firefox windows and tabs and then reopen firefox. My home page is my igoogle page. When I reopen it firefox it take me to the login page General igoogle. Once I configured to never remember history of the internet then close firefox and reopen the Web history settings go to "use custom settings. I tried everything on https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Preferences%20are%20not%20saved without success. There is no user.js file in my profile folder. I ran my antivirus, antimalware, and antispyware programs, McAfee, MalWareBytes, SpybotSearch & Destroy (which are updated) and they are. I also uninstalled firefox and reinstalled without success. It is frustrating increibly. Help, please!

If you have Firefox put forever history remember it will not record your password for iGoogle (it's like using the incognito Private Browsing - use Firefox without saving history). So in this case Firefox isn't a bad thing. You want to register not history? In this case, you must either change your settings to remove just the history cache with pages, or simply log into iGoogle each time.

  • Export as that doesn't remember the last used settings

Trying to get used to the use of export as instead of the old economy for the Web. However, it doesn't seem to remember the last settings I used. Save for Web still don't this, no problem. It's quite embarrassing and I have always used save for Web for this reason. Is there a way to remember? I have changed my preferences to export but it was just for the Quick export. Any ideas?

    qmatt wrote:

Do not. The new export module is not finished and it still lacks a lot of features (like the color management and the support of metadata). IMO, it was shipped prematurely.

The code of save for Web is based on the old ImageReady and certainly need a review/rewrite, which I do not know "export as" will provide beautifully. But until it's over, using SFW.

  • Thunderbird crashed after checking the profile folder, now no accounts

I was checking the troubleshooting to locate the Profiles to save folder. I clicked on "about plugins" to see if there was any plugins installed by default and TB crashed. It will not re-start until I rebooted the computer, and then at the launch he wanted to set up an account. The two previous accounts created had disappeared. I found file profiles and there are 2 folders with random numbers in the titles. I tried the command line profile manager and creates a new profile with the choice of the copied folder, I had. TB would not start. When I chose a subfolder under profiles he started and my 2 accounts were back with emails and folders that I created. I went to the resolution of problems again and clicked on the link and it happened again!

Should I delete and reinstall TB again to be sure? What is the best way to save e-mail? I couldn't find where you would be important old mails from TB or Outlook. We have a backup of emails from our computer to work, we need to import on the laptop afterwards. I need to work it before install TB on our portable computer with an e-mail account with several old emails that must be maintained. We try to escape using the AOL Desktop application!

  • 4th gen Apple tv doesn't remember connection

I bought a 4th gen Apple tv to replace my 2nd generation it about 3 months ago. My girlfriend and I have a id iTunes and one account and both are set up on the new Apple TV. On the older, we could switch between his ID and mine, based on content, we wanted to see (each of buy us our TV shows or movies). With the 4th gen ATV, it requires the password whenever we change my account to hers, and vice versa. How can I configure the ATV to remember (not required) our passwords each time we have ID?

Maybe it's not possible, see https://help.apple.com/appletv/#/atvb0753b37d. Family sharing might work, but their 'parent' allows you to pay for everything.

  • Why thunderbird don't remember e-mail addresses that I posted, except if they are in my address book

    Hello
It was once I used or that you have entered an email address in thunderbird it would be seized semiautomatic even if she was not in my addressbook, but just used before.
due to unreliability of the Government and the industry, I've never used the addressbook. This has prevented me and friends of some software malware and crippleware that is designed to steal my email addresses.
However in the thunderbird new edition autocomplete no longer work and that means I have to create an addressbook.
What does the Organization mozilla with my email addresses? I see no other reason to force people to this action as to accommodate criminals or Governments.
Please explain to me why it is done and how it allows the user (that's me, not the nsa) because after 10 years I'm now seriously dumping Thunderbird as a mail client.

Thunderbird has since V3 automatically added to the collected address book addresses of outgoing mail, he then Auto filling when you type. If you used the address book.

    You may disable this option?

BTW, it may have escaped your notice, but Thunderbird stores its data on your computer. I have no idea where the paranoia on Mozilla having or wanting to your address book, but only those who have access to your computer have access to your data to Thunderbird.

Already, the NSA have each email that you have sent, or do it, if they want. They certainly have access to which you mail as it is impossible to deliver the mail to an address if it is not available for the software to do the routing.

The Government have access to paper mail passes through the sorting machine and have access to anything written outside of the envelope. Yes! It goes the same for e-mail. From and to match the information written outside of an envelope. The big difference is that the email is sent in the clear, so it's the digital equivalent of a postcard. Someone snooping transmissions (read up on Wireshark as an example of how it's done) has access to the complete transmission without any form of encryption.

    See
    S/MIMe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S/MIME
    PGP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pretty_Good_Privacy

For more information about encryption of e-mail messages.

Sounds you have cleaning software running which removes cookies and possibly other profile data.
