Firefox doesn't remember history.

When I use Firefox it doesn't remember not all pages. I checked it in the options to ensure that it was set to remember the story and also tried reseting. When I opened the watch throughout history the entire list is empty. List of bookmarks is always very good and he still remembers the closed tabs, but nothing is stored in the history.

Try to delete a file user.js possible and numbered files prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all default prefs, including the defined via user.js and prefs prefs is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting on the problem.

  • Firefox doesn't remember the settings of the browser.

Every time I open firefox I reconfigure my preferences (homepage, internet history settings). This only happens when I close all firefox windows and tabs and then reopen firefox. My home page is my igoogle page. When I reopen it firefox it take me to the login page General igoogle. Once I configured to never remember history of the internet then close firefox and reopen the Web history settings go to "use custom settings. I tried everything on https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Preferences%20are%20not%20saved without success. There is no user.js file in my profile folder. I ran my antivirus, antimalware, and antispyware programs, McAfee, MalWareBytes, SpybotSearch & Destroy (which are updated) and they are. I also uninstalled firefox and reinstalled without success. It is frustrating increibly. Help, please!

If you have Firefox put forever history remember it will not record your password for iGoogle (it's like using the incognito Private Browsing - use Firefox without saving history). So in this case Firefox isn't a bad thing. You want to register not history? In this case, you must either change your settings to remove just the history cache with pages, or simply log into iGoogle each time.

The problem is only concerts on FF and not any other browser since I have an another three (ie, google chrome and netscape) + FF, but I use FF mostly and rarely others.

I checked all the software that I installed and no product cleaning here as ccleaner and anti-virus settings are checked. I also completely uninstalled FF and installed the latest version and tried to connect to one of the websites before you install any addon.

seems OK, it was a bit of the virus or malware that keep the pc on its State (unable to display hidden folders and files, the gel firefox so not history or the active connection saved) I changed my antivirus and used combofix/ccleaner for all retrieve and ready again.

  • Firefox doesn't remember "user names". In addition, Firefox does not remember dashboard settings IE. Toolbars, etc. How can I fix this.

Nightly Firefox pours his memory of the names of users and toolbars.

Sounds you have cleaning software running which removes cookies and possibly other profile data.

The Bank Web site may use autocomplete = off to prevent Firefox to save and fill in the name and the password.
You can remove autocomplete = off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox ask to record the name and the password.

  • Firefox does not remember any history, even if the setting is "remember history". How can fix this?

I do not use private browsing and the setting ist "remember history", but Firefox doesn't remember the stories. What can I do to let Firefox remember history again?

One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

  • stretch image in html background working if "never remember history" is selected

I have a problem that did not exist in previous versions of mozilla. I found the problem after you have installed the latest version and after setting ever "remember history" of firefox

The problem is related to the CSS code to stretch a background image to fit the screen. The background image does not stretch if "never remember history" is NOT defined. That part of the image is displayed and the rest of the background is black. I noticed first with my website www.missionbayhighalumni.com and subsequently found that the same problem also occurred with this site:
    http://www.htmlite.com/faq022.php or http://www.htmlite.com/faqEX004b.html

I created several test cases with very simple code, all had the problem. The background image extend tests of code all work for other browsers and even firefox if "never remember history" is not selected. It also seems to be intermittent.

Looking very good for me and all containers have a height: 100%, which is also OK.

You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from that domain you don't want to lose then check that back up these data or make a comment.

You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • All my passwords are gone after the 32,0 even if privacy set to "remember history".

I used Firefox because it was introduced and he have to remember my password for as long as it was possible. Suddenly, last week, after the upgrade 32.0, all my passwords disappeared completely. I have the privacy settings on ' Firefox will be remember history. Why they disappeared, and how can I get back them? Is there anything harmful, I would be worried (could they were stolen)?

I am Windows 8.0 on a computer running 64-bit with 4 GB of RAM/1 TB HDD. Today, I upgraded to 32.0.1, but passwords are still missing. I have active Sync.

In an odd twist, I've updated to 32.0.1, restarted FireFox and still no password.

HOWEVER, after I restarted the computer, and then open Firefox, NOW my passwords appear (although, curiously, my open tabs were all closed).

  • Firefox 8.0.1 on mac doesn't save preferences - I put "use custom settings", but it reverts to "remember history".

    Firefox 8.0.1, OS X 10.6.8.
For example, when you fill out a form, I find that history of form does not work. I have check the preferences and find that it has been restored to "remember history". I checked that prefs.js is not locked. Add in preferences, like the colorful tabs preferences are not saved. The plugins are up to date.

I decided to use AppZapper to get rid of Firefox after registration, passwords, bookmarks and a screenshot of the Extensions before you reinstall - seems to have made the Explorer more stable that he now remembers preferences.

  • Firefox does not remember my cookies, even if I choose history does not forget and remember passwords for sites.

I choose to remember the story in the Privacy tab and remember passwords for sites on the Security tab in the Options, but when I close Firefox, it doesn't remember my cookies and I have to make the connections manually everytime I open Firefox.

In case you use "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • do not delete 'Cookies' and 'Site preferences.

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

If clearing cookies doesn't work, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other files to present as cookie cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

  • Firefox guard handed himself to "never remember history" even if I say "use the custom settings for history".

Firefox seemed to work fine until yesterday. When I used Firefox yesterday, my home page was changed to Firefox start page and did not open my tabs from the day before. I went to settings and changed the homepage back to google.com and told to "use the custom settings for history". I closed Firefox and opened it again and my homepage was google.com, as I put it, but it was back to "never remember history". I tried several times, yesterday and today, but Firefox keeps affecting himself never "remember history".

Choose the 'use the settings customized for history' parameter is not make changes to the parameters of the history and cookies.

Firefox displays the "use the custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one story and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that the changes have been made.

If all the history settings are default, custom settings are hidden and see you "conservation rules: (never) don't forget history."

Don't remember history"means that private browsing is active and"Always use private browsing mode"Gets a check mark.
