Thunderbird is invites me not my smtp password if I removed it

I have reset my password on my server, so need to update my password on thunderbird. I removed all of my passwords by using tools > options > Security > passwords > delete all. Then off thunderbird and rebooted the system. Now when I open thunderbird, it is not simply connect to the server. He never asked me my new password.

I use Dreamhost, and there has been some problems with the certificate. Don't know if this could be related to the problem.

My iPhone (and Mac) has recently started inviting me to enter my password of e-mail occasionally, even when my password has not changed. I always receive my email if I do not reintroduce.  I sometimes take the message pop up on the home screen.  It happens about once a week lately.  I'm a little worried that so often on my iPhone.  The same thing happens to my Mac too, but less frequently.  I noticed that this happens for Gmail, email from work (Exchange) and iCloud, but not all other accounts.  Potential virus?

    Not necessarily

When the mail (especially sent) is rejected by the server - for some reason - server busy or too large attachment or even unstable connection - the first step is to ask for authentication

I would see if there is a model in terms of contacts or attachments that you can discern

  • Why thunderbird changed the way it uses the passwords of gmail accounts?

I had put Tbird in place to always ask for a password for each account. That's always good. I could get into my gmail accounts by entering a password every time. My passwords on Tbird have not been registered. A couple of days, I had to reinstall Tbird after a computer problem. I logged into my gmail account and said not to save the password. When I logged on today it cowardly to remember passwords. I deleted them. When it tried to access accounts instead of simply ask a password he has known a rigmarole of 'connection via the gmail account' and I had confirm that Tbird is allowed to access gmail. An extra step every time, boring, but not terminal. BUT Tbird and then SAVES PASSWORDS, leaving my email accounts exposed, it's much more serious. I tried to remove the passwords, but then we went through the whole process and he did save yet. I don't want to add one master password (yet another thing to forget). I don't want Tbird automatically connect to each account every time that I load it. I DON'T want to control what he reads, and when he reads. What can I do to return to the configuration of the old?

Since the version of Thunderbird 38 uses OAuth2 for authentication of Gmail accounts. It is the only way to be considered "safe" by Google.
    http://TechCrunch.com/2012/09/17/Google-OAuth-2-0-for-Gmail-and-talk/

Basically, you authenticate with your Gmail account, once, and Google provides you with an authentication token. That's what Thunderbird records under "password". It is not your Gmail password. The token will expire at some point, you will need to again in the future.

If you want to revert to the old behavior allows Google you jump through some hoops.
You must allow 'less safe apps' in Google, or turn your settings on 2 stages of authentication in the context of a specific application password.

In Thunderbird, account settings change "authentication type" "normal password" for your Gmail account.

I have THUNDERBIRD for my email. Very happy with it. My computer is dead, new computer purchased Windows 7 on purpose. But no one can help me load Thunderbird because we can't find these passwords... they ask? Any help would be appreciated. WindowLIVE mail drives me crazy. I'm old and not stupid 65, but the computer is stressing me without end I received over 70 emails per day. I really don't want to give up my bellsouth account. I don't want to go through att. I like the look and feel of thunderbird. Help... Thanks in advance. MaryLOST

They are stored together... so you will find them all at once.

Tools menu > options > Security > passwords > saved passwords > show passwords

However, I think that your problem is more likely your anti virus/firewall blocking Thunderbird. Often, when your request a password that's not incorrect settings, it is anti virus did not cooperate. It is with ATT security suite powered by McAfee and Norton suite.

Turn off email scanning in your anti virus program. Component check and firewall allows Thunderbird explicitly. Car is not good enough apparently. If this does not work for you. Please add the troubleshooting information to your post

  • How can I change my password for connection of Firefox? (Not the master password for the Firefox links saves itself)

    (1) how can I change my password for connection of Firefox? (Not my main password for things Firefox stores)
    (2) how can I change my password for connection of Thunderbird? (Not my master
    password for things Thunderbird stores)
Just answer (Email removed by mod)

You don't have to log in to Firefox. Firefox is just a browser, such as Internet Explorer. Everything you have to do is double-click it and open it. It's like Internet Explorer. If you have some sort of password extension protecting your Firefox, it's different and you need to contact the developer of the extension.

  • Windows 7 does not remember a password on the LAN

At home, we have two laptops running (1) Windows 7 Home Premium, and Windows 7 Professional (2). There is also a desktop PC running Windows XP Professional, and Windows 7. Are all the facilities of Windows 7 SP1 and XP SP3 installation. Three of the PC is connected to an Ethernet 100 Mbps and the Netgear DGN2200 ADSL router, a WIndows 7 laptop is connected via a wireless connection to the Netgear router. The router's DHCP server, gateway and Wi - Fi access point on the network.

To account for Windows XP, we have defined the same workgroup on all PCs. The network is configured as a home network in Windows 7.  The same users are loaded on all PCs and the respective users passwords are the same on all PCs.

Carnets save everyday on the Windows 7 Desktop on the network.

The problem is with the Windows 7 Pro notebook. When you try to access the Windows 7 PC desktop, it requires a username and password. When the user name and password has been entered, the "Remember password" box is checked. The PC can then access the shared files on the selected computer. When Windows Explorer is running, I can browse the files on the other PC, but if Windows Explorer is closed and opened later, the same PC requires a user name and password once again, despite having chosen to remember the password.

While in this case, I can access to the desktop of Windows 7 from the other laptop Windows 7 without problem. He remembers the password that gave you a few months ago.

I do not allow the network connection to be turned off to save power to prevent this as a reason for the problem, but it does not solve it.

It won't let me watch all documents. So darn frustrated. I've been with Firefox for a long time and NOW it has problems. WHY? Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Thunderbird consists of a program (installed under Program Files) and your data, which you can find in your profile folder (explained here.
As long as you still have your profile data, it will be once you reinstall Thunderbird.
You can even run Thunderbird on a USB stick if you wish.

  • I just installed the latest update to win7, thunderbird and firefox do not, print

I opened my computer today and he wanted to install updates. You see not the warning messages I allowed it. Since then the thunderbird and firefox won't print or preview before printing. I tried to reinstall thunderbird as, after checking the windows update said it will remove the various drivers etc of 34 and 33. the printer will print ok test page, of various words programs etc.

    Try this:

Tools > Options > advanced > general tab
    Click on "Config Editor".
At the top of the search page: print_printer
    Scroll down to print.print_printer.
Right-click on the print.print_printer line and click Reset.

Make sure you have the right printer set default on your system.
    Restart Thunderbird.

    Also:

If that fails, see if you are using an add-on which is the origin of conflicts.
Help > restart with disabled addons.
If it works with addons disabled and then one of the addons is the cause of conflict.
You will need to work through the addons disabled until you find the one causing a problem. Perhaps add it needs updating.

  • Installer does not accept my password

Ive tried to install software for music on my macbook pro, but when it comes to enter the password to access icloud to actually start installing it does not accept my password. Signed cloud online with no problem, so I changed my password, is out of the installer and tried the process again but made no difference.

Did I miss something blatantly obvious? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The installation of the software usually requires the password that you use to connect to your MacBook, not the password to iCloud.
