Thank you very much!

Have you checked whether the zone at the OS level setting (for example using systeminfo or look at the register) is compatible agent time zone setting.

To check the setting of the agent time zone:
emctl config agent getTZ

If necessary, consult the following doc or support Note 825933.1 to reset the time zones:

  • Time zone offset problems

I use a system where I have a Linux server and Windows clients.  The software is running is for security cameras, and it compares between the server and the client time zone offsets to determine what time to display for the recorded video events.  The problem is that Linux thinks I'm in GMT - 05:00, which is correct, and Windows think I am GMT - 06:00, which is false.

Both are set up for Central time, and the two report the correct time despite the different offsets.  I'm assuming that Windows maintains the offset based on the time zone, and then applies in addition an advanced time of savings (DST) offset because if I turn off the DST, the offset is the same.  In any case, something is wrong.  He is not much of interest to mention the system that I'm under because it is obscure and who will not help.  But the time zone difference time lags is the problem.

For what it's worth, this happens on several Windows XP and 7 computers.  An Android client works correctly, but is based on Linux, so not a surprise.

Anyone know what the problem is with Windows time zone does not properly?

This bug has been fixed in Oracle DB 12.1.0.1.6 patch bundle which can be downloaded from My Oracle Support (MOS). After you download the patch bundle, you'll notice that it's a pretty important download. There is no need to install the patch to the entire group on your target computer. Instead, simply extract the managed provider and just install it.

If you do not have access to MOS, ask your DBA that should, or you can wait for the next version of the ODAC for the fix.

  • U410 - cannot connect after Windows Update after restore factory when the time zone is not UTC-8.

    Steps to reproduce the error:

1 use OneKey recovery to restore the initial factory settings.

    2. on the initial setup of Windows screen, select a time zone to UTC - 8, UTC (London)

    3. connect to Windows, open the Windows Update control panel and click on "Install updates"

4 restart the computer to complete the update.

    5. on the login screen, try to connect or shutdown the computer.

    Result:

Computer is blocked with the only desktop wallpaper and mouse pointer visible. Does not meet all the keys. By pressing the power button sleep machine. Press again on he wakes the machine in the blocked State.

I have reproduced this problem 3 times for initial help restore every time.

    Wordaround:

Before starting the factory restore processes, set the clock of system by 24 hours. After the end of the restoration of the factory, set the system clock to the correct time.

Otherwise, wait 24 hours between a factory reset and try to install the Windows updates.

    Analysis:

This problem is caused because of the way that Windows stores time. It assumes that the system clock is set to local time rather than UTC. When you use the OneKey recovery system he doesn't know what time zone of the system clock is set on, and so it assumes that it is set to UTC - 8. If it is in fact the UTC value, OneKey Recovery creates files with a time stamp of 8 hours in the future. This causes the Windows Update to fail.

One step that I forgot to mention, that may be important:

After the installation of the plant, during the initial configuration screens, I updated the time zone GMT London.

Since the OneKey recovery uses GMT - 8, this can cause some files to have a timestamp of 8 hours in the future. Maybe if I waited 8 hours before the update of this problem would not occur. I'll test this by setting the clock system for 1 week in the past, make reset factory and then it retroactively to the correct date before the update.

EDIT: Test successfully. This workaround works.

  • Validation XSD using XS: DateTime with time zone without xdb:SQLType

    I work on code that performs XSD validation on an XML document in an Oracle database. I managed to get the validation running code, but Oracle complains about the way in which an element xs: DateTime is provided with the 'Z' at the end stating that it is the hour UTC. The error I get is;

ORA-30992: an error has occurred in Xpath [Xpath of the element xs: DateTime]

ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting all of the input string

This has been resolved by removing me the 'Z' of the time, which will make "2013-08 - 06T 12: 29:15Z' in ' 2013 - 08 - 06 T 12: 29:15'." After spending a bit of time to research, I could identify if I included some Oracle XDB namespace and specified the "xdb:SQLType =" TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE "' for this item it will happen the XSD validation correctly, allowing for the marker of the UTC at the end unfortunately for me, it means I should get a XSD which is maintained on the international stage in many organizations changed to include the" specific annotations Oracle, which won't be easy. I was wondering if anyone knows anyway I can specify using code that the timestamp must understand the marker of the UTC, rather than having to get the XSD document changed

I know I could make these changes only the local copy of the XSD, but I would consider it as a last resort because it would add an additional human step to any update and we know all the error-prone how we fleshy meat bags are.

Thanks for any help or advice, anyone is able to give to this topic.

I know I could make these changes only the local copy of the XSD, but I would consider it as a last resort because it would add an additional human step to any update and we know all the error-prone how we fleshy meat bags are.

It does not necessarily require someone (human) make the changes.

For example, you could imagine including the amendment as part of the standard installation process and use something like this to do the job:

  • Forms crash/throw errors in forms when fmx is copied from one environment to the other.

    Hello

    Version 11g R2 forms

We have 2 environments, Test, and Production. When fmx are copied to UAT to Production, some programs work, some up errors in forms. It works fine if the program is compiled in Production.

Forms must be compiled in respective environments so that it works fine?

Or is there a way to fix this?

    General question:

What would be the best method to release forms?

    Appreciate any help.

    Concerning

    Ajith

As already said Oracle is recommended to recompile against the target IAS on the target database. However, this can be also be desirable if you have 100 + customers with who knows how many systems (test, prod, what) out there like us. For every customer that would mean at least 2 recompilations. As for now, our generation of forms process takes 2 hours (for a version; we have a single byte 10g, 10g AL32UTF8 and 11g AL32UTF8), then when this at installation time it wouldn't be nice.

As already said if you are careful, you will not have to recompile, but of course, you have some limitations (if you want to spare yourself compilation orgies with different combinations of target OS/db charactersets etc..)

-limit the OS versions you support

-the database character set is crucial; If you have several outside charactersets in production which do not play well together reflect to will AL32UTF8, otherwise you will need to compile against each characterset that support you

-do not use % ROWTYPE constructs or select * (...) built in your forms

-Be particularly careful with the NLS settings (I think the NLS_LANG and NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS) at compile time and execution and installation of database. I remember having a DURATION 10 g with NLS_NCHAR_CHARSET = UTF8 form crash, even if you did not use the national character set at all, but it was just the way of the database has been installed (gladly the NCHAR_CHARSET can be changed very easily if you do not use).

It took us some headaches, but for the moment, we have a compilation, once race everywhere solution (with 3 installers for 10 g and 11 g with the respective charactersets form); We have implemented a generation routine that ensures that all things are correct at the time of compilation and installation/database update tool which ensures that installation is correct to avoid human errors. To avoid the trouble caused by facilities database or different shapes, you can use the silent installation of YES option and feed it with given data models and response files to ensure that your settings are correct.

If you have just an application on one or two of your servers, it's not worth; However, if you have a lot of customers out there (maybe also embedded with the license as we do), you might think to standardize your installation/build/deploy as mechanisms in the long time, that it will save you a lot of trouble. I have to say that I haven't seen an ORA-4062 and their companions out in production for some time, and we do the compile once, run everywhere for quite a while

It must of course take into account the fact that oracle is recommended to recompile. so if you encounter a problem that may be fixed by recompiling Support Oracle will tell you to do.

    see you soon

  • Time zone in Javascript conversions

I've gone through some of the previous posts on the issue of time zone conversions, but I was hoping someone could reduce it to someone not as familiar with Javascript.

My task is to create a form that will calculate hourly pay for a business trip. I have written code to calculate the hours between the hours of departure and arrival. The question that I have is to make the form more user-friendly, I have a drop down menu of all major cities with zones that the user will be able to choose because most of the routes are local time which facilitates travel on difficult zones. I want to write code that automatically set both (internal and not visible to the user) to the hour UTC or GMT, based on the time and the time zone entry, will do the calculations that I created in the script, I've already written and then display the number of hours. As you can see, I plan in my head, but I'm not sure how to put it to 'paper '.

I only need help with time zones, because I'm over my head, but I don't need someone to write the code for me just if all goes well will explain how can I implement these tools in an existing program that will calculate the hours between the departure and arrival without compensation in time zones. I have a feeling that I will need to use the Olson database and possible GeoNames or Earthtools.

    Olson database

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/zoneinfo

    http://www.Twinsun.com/TZ/TZ-link.htm

    GeoNames

    http://www.GeoNames.org/export/Web-services.html#timezone

    Earthtools

    http://www.earthtools.org/webservices.htm#timezone

I'm not sure but maybe if you were to set the offset of the time zone for the items in your drop down list you can then use this value to correct the UTC or GMT or other. Then on the link for your DOF tab, you must set the values under specify point values, so you have, use the boundItem() method to retrieve the offset value.

It's just off the top of my head, I'm not sure I would try to write something like myself!

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro can not handle time zones?

I normally work in Texas, but at the moment I am in San Francisco. I've updated the time zone on my Mac OS X 10.6.4 system accordingly. When I try to certify a PDF with Acrobat Pro 9.3.3 my digital signature (which I just created on the PDF) is considered invalid by Adobe Acrobat because it "seems to be in the future."

The best I can explain it, here's what seems to be the case:

    1. My computer is set to the Pacific time zone. It is 11:44 AM PDT
    2. I digitally certify a PDF document.
    • Signature properties say the date is 2010-07-28 13:44:36 - 05 '00'.
    • The time stamp included with the signature is dated 28/07/2010 13:44:36 - 05 '00'

For some reason, Acrobat Pro thinks that the signature is not valid because she seems to be in the future. Why

is not Acrobat Pro smart enough to handle time zones?

  • I am uncertain as to how this error can occur. I use a timestamp server (http://tsa.starfieldtech.com) in my digital signature timestamp. There seems to be no preferences in Acrobat for support for time zones, so it must determine the local time clock system, but without the context of the zone.
  • Hi Sasha,

Acrobat turned when you reset the time system? If the time original system (actually the GMT offset) has been loaded into memory at launch and doesn't not reset itself when you changed the system preferences. Acrobat should be able to get the new GMT offset, see you are at - 7:00 (PDT) and make the changes accordingly.

As you may have noticed, in what concerns the digital signatures, all times are "generalized time Format." Many people confuse this "hour of Europe" because the month comes first, but it's an ISO standard, where the time starts to the year.
