• Help to install Encarta 2000 on the Windows 7 computer.

  I bought a whole new, retractable Encarta 2000, assuming it works on Windows 7. After being told several times that it was installed when it wasn't, that I came across a "compatibility" option Now it is installed and it works - except for the help file, which is "incompatible".

  My real concern is that I have to run from CD. I was not offered the ability to copy all the files from the Windows Explorer. Is there a way to get there now?

  I vaguely remember doing this many years ago.

  Sorry I don't know which category this would be, but I recently was looking through old records and fell on encarta that I had on my old windows 95. I felt a sense of nostalgia to find that I spent many hours playing through the mindmaze game. I felt a little sad that this drive no longer works on any PC I have. I tried to load it on XP and almost killed. I had no choice but to throw the disc away. Is there any disk with labyrinth mind on or a download online which is compatible for windows 7 or XP?

  I have a copy of Microsoft encarta premium suite 2005; and I tried to download this edition to my new HP laptop with windows 7.

  Now, I feel really so frustrated that this copy of MS encarta does not on my laptop - MS encarta 2005 is not compatible with windows 7.

  I want to buy a premium of encarta 2009 but I can't find any reliable online retailer that sells - anyone can Microsoft please help?

  What do you suggest to me what I should do? I can't afford to buy another laptop and my system upgrade to windows 8 I recently bought a new laptop - hoping that I could install my encarta on. So frustrated that they are not compatible with each other! :(

  According to the description, you can't run a program in Windows 7.

  You can run Microsoft encarta premium suite 2005 in compatibility mode and see if it helps.

  Make older programs in this version of Windows (Windows 7)

  Yes, you are. According to the website of Windows Vista compatibility, only versions of encarta from after 2005 work with Vista.

  Try typing F8, all as the leaves Sony logo and before Windows starts to load and watch and see if you see any kind of system recovery options. Most OEM PC (Dell, HP, IBM, Sony, etc.) come with a hidden restore partition. If you can find look for an option to restore the computer to factory default specifications. Good luck!!

  The place where you install the Encarta software?

  You can try the following:

  1. open Internet Options applet in your control panel. (You can locate the control panel through the Start Menu).
  2. click on the tab 'Advanced' and scroll down to the section called "security".
  3. check the box "Allow software to run or install even if the signature is not valid", and then click OK.
  4. repeat your download. You should now see an option to "run" the file.

  Problem solved on 08/27/2009 by installing Microsoft Windows 7.

  PS: As far as I know you can resolve it by installing Microsoft .NET Framework, whose absence in the system when you try to install Microsoft Encarta is the reason for this problem (you may need to perform a clean installation of Microsoft Windows in order to be able to do).

  I didn't know that encarta World Atlas 2001 listed in the Windows Vista Compatibility Center. So it probally is not compatible with Windows Vista.
  You might see if the compatibility mode to operate.

  If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
  Use the following steps:
  Run the program compatibility Wizard

  1. Open the program compatibility Wizard by clicking the start, clicking Control Panel, clicking programs, and then clickingUse an older program with this version of Windows.

  2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

  If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation for the program and, using the wizard disk, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

  To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the icon of the program, clickProperties and then click the Compatibility tab.
