TMS change Server 2003 to 2008/12

Hello

Could you please advice if we need to replace the old server with a new (setup IP, server name, FULL domain name will be the same). At what point should we physically replace the server and applies IP Configuration from the old server to the new?

Or better a new IP/servername?

Thks

  • Tecra S10 - 10F - need Server 2003 or 2008 LAN driver

    I'm looking for a driver lan for Toshiba S10 - 10F for Windows Server 2003 or 2008.
Or at least, I would like to know the model of network card.

    Thank you

Toshiba doesn't support an OS Server on laptops, so you will not find such a driver on the Toshiba site.

You can try to search for a driver on the site of the factory. As far as I know that the Tecra S10 has a Intel LAN card while you should search on the Intel site [www.intel.com]

In addition, you can try to use the XP Server 2003 driver and driver Vista for Server 2008. The two you can find on the Toshiba site:

  • What product Vmware is the best for several Windows Server 2003 and 2008 implementation

    Hi all

I am just wondering that if I installed VMware on Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and Windows Server 2003 Enterprize edition on VMware I was able to use more Ram installed, our server have 48GB of Ram but Server 2003 Standard allows only 4 GB max to use, to save money, I was wondering just if I can use the way I mentioned above.

Looking at it, I think you have a misconception about the limitations of VMware, RAM and operating system. Your problem is that you see no more than 4 GB of RAM on your x 86 Server 2003 install? This is a limitation of the operating system - to use more RAM you need an operating system that can deal with the RAM.

    • If you install VMware Workstation on Windows Server 2003 standard x 86 edition then you will only be able to use the 4 GB of RAM, Windows Server 2003 Standard x 32 can process.

    • If you install VMware Workstation on Windows Server 2003 standard x 64 edition then you will be able to use the 32 GB of RAM that Windows Server 2003 Standard x 64 can process.

    • If you install VMware ESX, you can adjust your full 48GB of RAM and install multiple instances of Win 2003 Svr Standard, each of which can address 4 GB of your memory live available.

  • Which laptop model can be installed in Windows Server 2003 and PIA?

    People,

Hello. The PIA (Weblogic and Tuxedo and SQL Server) and the PeopleTools are compatible with Windows Server 2003 or 2008. But it is not compatible with Windows 7. Because my HP laptop is installed with Windows 7 and can not be installed on Windows Server 2003 or 2008, I need to buy another laptop to install Windows Server 2003 or 2008 PIA and PeopleTools.

I need to know what model of laptop computer can be installed on Windows Server 2003/2008 and double boots several operating systems. Everyone installs Windows Server 2003/2008 and PIA in any laptop? Please tell me the model of the laptop.

    Thanks in advance.

    Lucy

Any modern laptop with lots of RAM (> = 4 GB) and hard disk space, within capablities of 64-bit virtualization should be well.
Even if you have Windows 7 OS to host, you can still install a virtual machine software installable on top of your operating system (for example, VMWare), then install an operating system supported as a virtual machine (called guest operating system). You will work on this virtual machine, exactly as it was a server, waiting for your host what OS is also running, no need to dual-boot.

  • Server 2003/2008 drivers for Tecra M11 - 11J

    Hello

I had to install Windows server 2003 on a laptop (don't ask) and cannot find a driver anywhere. Have tried all the windows drivers on the drivers page and had no luck.

Thought that I'd stick 2008 there to see if it automatically recognized but no luck there either.

Anyone know how I can get around this?

I also tried to figure out what model NIC is installed, so I can get the drivers directly from the manufacturer (Intel I guess), but Goggling it comes with anything.

    Hello

    > I had to install Windows server 2003 on a laptop (don't ask) and cannot find a driver anywhere

I guess you're meaning that the network driver.
    Tecra M11 - 11J seems to support the * pilot Intel 82577LC * LAN.

Maybe you could find the driver on the Intel page

I use Windows Server 2003 R2. We have about 100 PCs that are connected to this server and using the network connection. We are planning to upgrade to the latest version. While I was looking for the comparison between Windows Server 2003 R2, R2 2008 and 2012.

All items talk about new features like Hyper-V, Hyper v Replica, Active Directory, IIS etc. But I'm not using one of these. I mainly use it as a file server. So, I need to know the comparison of features related to it.

How are the 3 versions different server?

I heard that data deduplication is main feture of windows server 2012.Does it only reduce the file size when it is in drive? Or he gets advantage for network traffic when he copied the complete network of another way? Fact that these data are supported in windows XP in network

The former will be decommissioned and formatted.
Please note that I don't want to transfer the CAL of Terminal Server service but rather access normal Server CAL
