  @Matt: it took me a while to find the check box "Show passwords", because in my version, it's hidden in "edit - preferences - security - passwords - passwords saved.   Your topic says that there is a new supplier. I can assume this account has never worked? You typed this here or copy and paste error message?

  Do you have triple checked your PW for spelling? Remove and type again. Even a stray space can cause this.

  I use Cox on the West Coast myself. Did you call their tech support and asked them to this topic? Maybe reset your password? They are very good and there is 24/7. 1-800-221-4188.

  Switch PC to a macbook pro. Downloaded Thunderbird 38.2.0. I am trying to add new folders, under local folders. Trash and Outbox are in local folders, but I don't see how to add folders to organize my mail.

  Since 4 February I get new emails in my thunderbird (version 31.4.0) to my gmail account. I can send emails, however.
  I have 2 other e-mail accounts and that they do not have the same problem. If I have access to my account gmail since the browser or my phone, I can see the most recent messages without problem. I have reviewed the configuration settings (IMAP) and they seem correct, incoming and outgoing.

• Running Windows 7, the new version of Thunderbird crashes my whole system about 90 seconds after its launch.
