To remove a separator in bookmarks

I can't find a way to remove a separator that I created in the bookmarks. I tried right mouse click below of the separator, since I couldn't place the cursor on the separator and liquidation just delete the bookmark below the separator. I also do not see anything in the menu that allowed me to create the separator that allows me to remove the separator.

You must open the bookmarks Menu folder to view these separators in the right pane.

For problems with the file places.sqlite (bookmarks, historical) database, you can check in the Firefox profile folder.

If the extension of Maintenance of places cannot repair the database places.sqlite file remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder to rebuild the database places.sqlite latest JSON Firefox backup in the folder bookmarkbackups.

You may need to restore and old JSON backup manually.

  • Why sync randomly removes not so many bookmarks?

    Hello

I sync between 3 PC, but these last few months, it was not reliable.

I found it deleting various records, empty records, duplication of bookmarks into folders and generally being a nightmare.

I have an export that has fortunately most of my good favorites. I tried a disconnection, reimport bookmarks - everythings Ok for a day or two, then it starts to be again randomly.

I have over 6000 Favorites I've heard can be a problem - could it be?

    See you soon!

No point in trying of synchronization of bookmarks if you have more than 5,000 bookmarks.

Sync is not particularly good at managing the large number of changes in bookmarks either. Personally, I suggest that it is even more important to backup bookmarks manually if you opt for the synchronization of bookmarks.

These days, Firefox is quite well with bookmarks internal default automated but you learned Sync can be a nightmare if you manually back up at least you can then choose to save a set of bookmarks sync did not wreck.
You have found most of the kind of corruption, causes of synchronization are difficult, time-consuming or impossible to correct, and very probably Sync will be assigned automatic backup sets until you realize what has happened past.

If I understand correctly this is a long-standing problem and would require a redesign of the synchronization process and I don't think it is expected to do.

Note There are two different ways to save bookmarks.

    1. HTML is the export import ADDITIONS

    2. . JSON .jsonlz they REPLACE BACKUPS

I hope that some of this information will be useful in dealing with this issue.

  • Can I remove my exported html bookmark file after I re any and it merged with my restoration of my old favorites? Even with the json file?

I recently reinstalled my OS on a new drive and have just successfully restored my old favorite and imported all the new bookmarks that I had saved from the OS install. I just want to know if it is safe to remove the json file I have restored from since it was on the old disk I want to format and I can also delete the html file I created by exporting my new bookmarks until I started this process?
    Marc

You can keep a backup of the old file or make backups, backups JSON on the new computer.

You can decide for yourself if you would have a use of this file.

If all bookmarks have been restored successfully, then you won't need the backup, and you can create a new backup regularly if you have modified or added bookmarks.

  • Why can't remove the button long BOOKMARKS since the end of the right hand of the bookmarks toolbar?

This button is totally superfluous and takes place on my bookmarks toolbar. How can I remove it please?

To be clear, I have the "normal" bookmarks button on my main toolbar that opens to the top of my favorites in the Panel on the left. What is the purpose of the button bookmarks on the right end of the bookmarks toolbar that opens the same bookmarks in a different presentation, and how can I get rid of him?

There are two icons stars; We open the sidebar and the other opens a drop down menu, but the procedure to add or remove is the same. It's inflexible, you can try to keep it more firmly before by dragging in the window customize. Please note that sometimes this icon may jump to another location when you click Customize and can also do not show the text, it may not be immediately visible.

  • Anyone know how to remove the list of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar?

  • Find and replace the necessary assistance to the removal of several Word Bookmarks

I am importing a Word document sections. Word documents have favorites such as:

    < h3 > < a name = "_Toc226886762" id = "_Toc226886762" > fixed-variable < /a > < / h3 >

I would like to do at the level of the site search and replace, delete all bookmarks (they all start with table of contents) but keeping the title and the text format. I tried several options, but nothing works.

    Thank you.

I just copied and pasted the code in an HTML document, and ran the search and replace regular expressions. He removed all four bookmarks without problem.

I see that you say you copied and pasted my regex in the search field. I just do the same thing and see that when you use copy / paste, the cursor in the search field ends up on a new line. Press BACKSPACE to get rid of the new line. It should then work.

  • How can I remove separators in the bookmarks bar?

I inadvertently inserted separators in the bookmarks bar and now I can't get rid of them.

It requires a precise positioning of the mouse pointer to delete directly from the bookmarks toolbar.
It is easier to do in bookmarks (library) Manager and open the bookmarks toolbar folder.

  • I've removed a non-standard bookmark, I can get it back?

I deleted a bookmark by accident. It is not 'most visited' or 'most' anything. Is it possible to restore it?

You should have a button and back toward the front and three other buttons in the toolbar in the bookmarks/history Manager (bookmarks > organize bookmarks).

You probably need to restore from a JSON backup bookmarks.

This will replace all current bookmarks with those of the backup.

    • "Most Visited" and "Recently set bookmark" and "Recent Tags" are examples of what is called Smart Bookmarks folders and are not the real existing folders.
    • These smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores the history and bookmarks in Firefox.
  • How to remove the default Unsorted Bookmarks?

Older versions of FireFox had better feature: Add bookmark you need to click only once on the icon to bookmark and last used folders appear. "Unsorted bookmarks" appears now, without the possibility to delete. This greatly alter usability FF for the people doing the reading and intense research.

I don't use Unsorted bookmarks at all, nor bookmarks tool bar. Is it possible to restore the basic features of FF and delete these unwanted forced options?

    Thank you.

Unsorted Bookmarks in Firefox since version 3.0, which was released on 17/06/2008. He is missing for over 5 years now. The other "smart" folders can be deleted, but the unsorted folder cannot be deleted.

I have seen nothing over the last 5 years, which allows the old feature to restore the places bookmarks / history system. I guess that the folder can be 'hidden' thru userChrome.css code, but will not replace "Favorite places" to try to use this folder as his "first choice for a new bookmark. And unless you are very careful, you can end up with a ton of bookmarks in the shadow folder.
