Today my Macbook Pro could not start.  He showed me the ban or no symbol.  I was able to access disk utility and run first aid on the SM0256G of SSD Apple media successfully.  Cannot start in normal/safe mode.  Should I delete/install so I can?

MacBook Pro 13 '' end 2015.  256 GB SSD drive. El Capitan last version 10.11.4. I turned on the Macbook Pro and it could not start.  The progress bar with the Apple Logo would be present but would end not showing the symbol «»  I tried to boot mode safe - no go.  I have not reset PRAM help.  I was able to access disk utility and run successfully the first aid. No help. I was unable to restore two separate backup.  The utility show me backups however when I would go to the next screen and no backup is available.  Disk utility displays the SSD.  Can I erase the disc and download OS X install?  Thank you.

At this point, there is no need to delete. A new copy of Mac OS X can be installed directly over the old copy. This process replaces the components of Mac OS X on a file by file basis and adds missing ones, there will be no major throwing away what anyone, unless there is a power failure.

You have already run disk first aid.

Now use mode of recovery (command + R to start) to "Re-install Mac OS X. It should install the latest revision of the main version that you ran last.

What you need to do, is start in the XP Recovery Console and run chkdsk/r first.  Is is possible that the blackout damaged your NTFS file system and a chkdsk/r is to clean it.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu you want to see, he has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

See what the BSOD said would be interesting, but I would still recommend that you run chkdsk /r from the XP Recovery Console to make sure your file system is not damaged.

Answer the questions and we can see what to do next.

You can try the following, but it is quite possible, you had a hardware failure such as the HARD drive.

This will reinstall OS X without erasing your drive. Please make sure that you have backed up.

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime hold down the COMMAND and R until the Utility Menu appears.
    2. Select disk utility, and then click continue.
    3. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the volume of the list to one side.
    4. Click the first aid tab in the toolbar. Wait that the button is active, and then click it.
    5. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    6. Select reinstall OS X and click on the button continue.
  • Satellite L300 will not start even in safe mode

    Hello.

Whenever I turn on my laptop, it shows me two options: start windows normally or perform a system repair.
I tried both of these options, but I can't seem to access the page where I have to enter my password to access my desktop, I tried a number of things by pressing F8 during startup, including startup repair up to and restore to the previous point, but nothing happened.

I have the vista operating system and it seems to freeze immediately after loading (the long rectangular bar with the Green thing from left to right, saying Microsoft Corp. below). It freezes... the page is all black and my cursor is there, I can move the cursor, but nothing is there to click on. HDD/ODD lights do not Flash indicating that the laptop is not all 'work '.

In addition, it took me to a page where he was "collection of data for the crashdump"... don't know what this means but yes and it also took me to a page where it says 'one of your disks should be checked for consistency. He also posted a message saying that the registry file failure does not load. Systemreboot/System32/config/system

I start it in safe mode and it shows a bunch of files and says please wait.
After my computer goes on a blank page (all black) but I can see and move my cursor and it is bigger than usual so I guess he's about to go to safe mode, but just, he remains on the screen and does nothing else.
He was about 35 minutes and it's still at this screen, that nothing has changed.

    Thanks for your help :)

    Hello

Try to recover the device by using the drive HARD recovery option.
I hope you didn t change anything on the HARD drive recovery partition.
HARD drive recovery allows you to reinstall the operating system without the use of all disks!

Turn on the device, press F8, choose repair my computer and choose the option to drive HARD recovery.
Usually, it would begin the new installation of the OS. But note; HARD drive recovery option would be to format the whole HARD drive, which means that you will lose all files stored on the HARD drive.

  • Acer Aspire laptop bluescreened, will not start even in safe mode, running vista

My roommates son asked me to help him to be on the internet, which I did, ran unusually slow in doing so, I noticed it when I checked, I found that the notebook had three solutions of different software protection, antivirus, Norton, McAffrey and AVG 2011 version for free. Also I noticed he had some solutions that provided a diagnosis, list of problems found and wanted to pay for the product before they would allow acccess to the fix. I uninstalled Norton and the McAffrey and improved the AVG free version of 2012. I also uninstalled the pesky diagnosis/buy me for the correction and the ask.com toolbar software. I installed ccleaner from piriform as well. The laptop seems to run a little faster, but the next morning he projected blue and when I tried to start it in safe mode it not loaded so far and then frozen, always in the same spot something AVGi and then it crashes, it will not load the rest of the necessary drivers. I tried to boot to the last known good as well. I even tried to downgrade to Windows xp home edition sp3 and when I do it it says there is no hard drive detected, and do I have to make sure that it works correctly.  I am at a loss, my sons friends bought the laptop (Acer Aspire 5315) for $50.00 and did not get a recovery disk so that the option does not exist or the other. What can I do to solve this problem. I'm sure that for some reason, it has to do with the BIOS and I went to the Acer site (from my laptop) and downloaded something to repair the bios on a flash drive, but me is not good because I can not start on either flash player. I am at a loss here and have no idea how to solve this problem. I am practically self-taught and I am a beginner when it comes to repairing the problems. This one is right behind me, someone has an idea what is my problem?

I even tried to downgrade to Windows xp home edition sp3 and when I do it it says there is no hard drive detected, and do I have to make sure that it works correctly.

If you tried to install Windows XP, and it says that? Do you have any installation CD? I don't want to say this, but maybe the hard drive went kaput. Maybe a little rare, but it can happen and so he bought the laptop for $50, which I am sure he did not a store. You hear a clicking sound from the hard drive? Have you checked for the hard drive in the BIOS?

as for what caused this problem?  I recently gave a USB external hard drive, but had not written for her.  did a chkdsk of the external hard disk without error.   When the problem was first happening, I removed the battery and the power cord of the acer laptop then pressed the power for 30 seconds to perform all memory the power button.  He got rid of a problem that I had been meet in which received start-up error message not "adapter acer". with battery removed, laptop power problems have disappeared.

as the system is now, when I try to start everything now alt F10, I get a screen that reads "change windows startup options for: microsoft windows vista ' ' path: \windows\system32\winload.exe" "partition: 2" "HDD;". " d404533e' "[/ noexecute = optin /deteecthal]"

    "windows memory diagnostic"

(diagnosis of memory showed no problem) by pressing TAB toggles between Vista and the diagnosis.

I tried to boot with external USB hard drive connected and not connected.   the touch pointer was not working, but was erratic.   Sometimes, I could use a USB wireless mouse when it is started in safe mode.   recently the media player would not charge unless I restarted.  (before the system does not at all which is the theme of this original problem).

When I try to start using f10, I get a screen that seems to ask for entry. the cursor is held after the detecthal of the line as below. What could of entry to enter the boot to continue?

    Winload.exe

    / noexecute = optin /detecthal

me. surprised... the problem was that my power supply was low.   the adapter provided enough power for the laptop, most of the time.  but sometimes for laptop needs more power that the adapter could supply... so the laptop would be closed.   When I tried a different power adapter in a store, the fully charged laptop and my problem was solved.  lost a lot of time because I didn't know that the power supply was the problem!

Hi, I have a MacBook pro that won't start. When I turn it on, I hear the ring of priming, but then the screen stays black. I tried all possible troubleshooting recommendation, that I could find on the internet, but nothing makes a difference. None of the startup option keys (start in safe mode, mode disk target, selection of the boot drive, etc.) anything. I can reset the PRAM, but nothing else has even made a difference. MacBook Pro mid 2012 does not start. Getting the various screens of gray. When trying to make right boot, get flashing folder.

Other things does not: recovery of OS X, without failure, verbose mode, Boot Manager, single-user mode. IRA to the re-establishment of the Internet, enter the password, stall (error - 2002F-).

Tried to reset the memory NVRAM and SMC, but nothing.

Tried with the new hard drive, but accurate results same with the old hard drive (I thought that the old hard drive can be damaged, so got a new one, but get the same results).

Any ideas? Could go to the Apple service center, but closer to here where I am is 3 hours away.

Should note that there are many attempts Mac starts up fine (by divine intervention I think), so saved all all on, but after computer use as usual for an hour (especially Internet browsing using Safari and Chrome), computer slowed to snail pace, so tried to restart but still got results above.

If the drive is "verified", then select your OS X volume in the list on the left (subentries under the entry for the road), click the first aid tab, then click the repair disk button.
