Tools/software on the recovery CD?

Hello!

A few days ago I received my new Tecra A9. It has Vista Business on it and was rather slow (especially startup) from the beginning, even if he has a 2 GHz Core2Duo and 2 GB of RAM in it.

There was a lot of preinstalled software, I didn't need and uninstalled (Norton Internet Security, etc.), but it still boots very slow. If I have any format and recover the Vista-recovery-CD/DVD, what software it will install? IF useful software like some Toshiba tools and Protector Suite are not on the Rec - CD, where can I get them? (I won't recover from the hidden recovery partition, I'm afraid it will reinstall ALL the software and divide the HARD drive into 2 Partitions (Vista & data) which I don't want).

I hope some of you guys know an answer :-)

Hello

When you start your laptop for the first time it has factory settings. Whenever you use recovery image, you will have factory settings with all software pre-installed as after the first start.

If the laptop is too slow for you can do two things:
1. you can delete all software, you don't need
2. many different tools and utilities start with Vista. Check and disable the autostart of all these processes that you do not need.
3. increase the RAM

Sorry, but I see no alternative here.

Unfortunately, you can't do that - generally, any changes made to the recovery Partition may cause its failure.

  • By using the Recovery Manager to repartition the HARD drive

I started a post a few days back on my pavilion DM1-3014AU netbook that runs on AMD APU-E350, 2 GB of ram and comes pre loaded with windows 7 Home Basic. I had a number of requests because I want to repartition the hard drive, do a fresh install of windows 7 my disc and I also want to keep some of the hp software.

After going through a few messages in this forum, I learned that we can use the Recovery Manager to do a minimal install, IE windows 7 and only the hp software. That's what I have to do unless I also want to repartition the hard drive.

I currently have 4 partitions, C drive, hp tools (hidden) and backup (hidden). I have already created recovery disks. Now, my questions are:-

    1. can I use recovery disks or Recovery Manager to delete all existing partitions and recreate my own partitions. This means that I would remove the recovery, tools and backup partitions.

    2. After doing the above I'll be able to do a minimal install (os + hp software) via the Recovery Manager or the recovery disks.

    3. my intutions are that I can accomplish the above two using the recovery disks and not the recovery partition. If the above two steps are possible using recovery discs, it would ultimately have no partition on my hard drive recovery. I will then be able to use the recovery disks in the future to make the same minimum install (os + hp software)

    4. I wouldn't really keep the recovery, tools and backup partitions if they can be of any complacency in the future but the reson why I want to delete them, is that windows 7 Home Basic allows no more than 4 partitions and I want to be able to create at least 4 partitions for my use.

Any help would be really appreciated...

Yes Vikrant... it is unnecessary to install UEFI to update BIOS.

Yes, if you install the update to the BIOS using the link I provided in my previous thead element, you can as a revert to a version of BIOS as soon as possible if you feel that the system is unstable.

Even if you reparition the whole HARD disk and do a manimized install, you can install the BIOS update in the future.

Updating the BIOS is independent if you did full recovery or minimizes recovery.

BIOS update will not affect the use of recovery disks and procedures. You can safely use them in the future without any problem.

You will use the ability to run F9 diagnostics incase of any software system crash, and you are unable to start Windows.

  • Make a copy of the recovery media which can no longer be ordered from Toshiba

I have Toshiba Portege M200 computer without recovery media. Because the computer is old media are not available to order from Toshiba.

If I found a person who is the original owner of these media I could make a copy of it to use with my computer when I have a valid license for Windows and other software on the recovery disk?

In General, you can use a recovery of other media laptop, but there is the same model of laptop with the same hardware configuration.

  • Satellite A300D - what I'm going to lose additional software using the XP Recovery CD

I'm a novice on this forum, so please excuse if the questions are naïve.

I just A300D with Vista Business installed and also have XP Pro recovery media disk.

I think of "downgrading" to XP Pro and are concerned about the software that comes with the Vista installation. For example, all is included:

    Drivers and utilities Toshiba
    ConfigFree
    Connectivity doctor
    Toshiba Bluetooth Stack
    Toshiba Bluetooth Monitor
    Toshiba Disc Creator
    The Toshiba user manual
    Toshiba Value Added Package
    Supervisor password utility
    Toshiba Assist
    Toshiba Speech System
    Chicony Camera Assistant Software
    Toshiba DVD player
Free 60 day trial of Microsoft Office Professional 2007
    Professional Windows XP recovery media
    Ulead DVD MovieFactory for TOSHIBA
    Toshiba face recognition
Google software (Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer, Google Desktop, Picasa, Google Earth)
McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008 - Toshiba Edition (including updates of free Internet for 30 days)
    Business Card Reader

If I change the XP Pro I lose all this software? If so, how do I get it back (for example for the camera, DVD. Bluetooth, speeches etc.). There is no separate these supplied software disc!

    Thank you

The last suggestion posted by Invader is very important info!

You must first create the Vista recovery DVDs using Toshiba tool called creator Toshiba Recovery prior to a new installation of XP.

Some tools called components software (McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008, Google software, free 60 day trial of Microsoft Office Professional 2007, Ulead DVD MovieFactory) are only available in the image of Toshiba and not on the Toshiba page driver and, therefore, you must create the first recovery DVDs.

    Best regards

  • Preinstalled software is included in the recovery media?

Because I'm going to create recovery CD using the Recovery Media Center on my Toshiba L750

It says disk only, no request for system recovery media. I'm therefore wondering if the software is included with the class of system recovery media or I'll have to do something else so I have to drive.

It says also on this site:
    Link: [https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2753749&pf=true]

Please can you give me a help please

When you buy the new laptop, it comes with preinstalled OS that includes all necessary drivers, Toshiba and public services, as well as some additional software tools too.

When you create the recovery disk so recovery image stored on this disk will be absolute same components after installing OS using this created disc, you'll have the same thing you have after the first start.

  • Satellite P100-119 - software after the installation of recovery

I use a Toshiba Satellite P100-119 since 2006. I want to run the original liveries Product Recovery CD after you back up all my data, so that with a vacuum system, the laptop gets even faster.

But as there were pre-installed software (office, Toshiba programms) when I bought it, I don't know if they went after the recovery. I do not have CD for these programs, they were just pre-installed and what my Windows xp, should recover fully with the cd?

    Hey Buddy,

After the installation of recovery, you have the same settings that bought the laptop. With other words recovery disk will restore the box settings.

Firstly the recovery disk will wipe the entire HARD drive and remove all. After this Windows will be installed all the drivers and tools. In addition, will be also installed software preinstalled such as office, etc. and you can use it again. :)

Backup all important data like the photo, music, etc. but everything will be removed for a clean install of Windows.

  • What happened to the recovery of the Options software Dfault factory to win 8.

We recently bought a C50 - B Satellite laptop for one of our boys to use at school (since they decided that the laptop replaces the need for text books) and needed to be implemented. It will be his only machine and it will also use to play games and surf the net. Past experience with his games, he done always something that slows down the system and finally makes it almost unusable, a State that I can't leave because it is necessary for school. I thought I would dualboot, one system for school only and the other for its games so that if its OS is messed up games he can still do his school work on the other OS.

Microsoft say that, since the OS will be installed on the same computer twice, but that an installation can be run at any time that it does not violate their license agreement, so no problem with legal issues.

System recovery, in Win7 under "Recovery of Factory Default Software" has three options.
    1 get out-of-box state.
2 recover without changing the hard drive partitions.
    3. recover a custom size partition. The memory option 2 or 3 allows a 2nd installation of the operating system even though I think as the BCD needed some changes to both work.

My problem is that the C50 - B comes with Windows 8.1 and the recovery procedure and options have changed. Win 8 / 8.1 seems not to have option 1, or an equivalent, as it says Win 8 s reset is similar to the recovery of Win7s, but this removes the partitions and the existing operating system, so I can't get two operating systems on the computer by using this method.

Does anyone know a way to dual boot to help to win 8 / 8.1 recovery partition?
OR is it possible to modify the script to allow options 2 and 3 of Win7?

Win 7 was not ideal for this, but the deletion of these two options, it is difficult to use other operating systems such as Ubuntu, Linux etc.

I would like to see the recovery for the other operating systems partition, do not assume that it will be the only OS that requires the user on the machine.

Help with this will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Install XP from the recovery part. Without additional software

Im trying to reinstall XP OS on my a1200a of Pavilion by using the recovery Partition HP, without any of the default software factory additional (HP Games, Muvee etc.). I want just the base OS XP. Is this possible?

    PLEASE HELP ME!

    Hello

Except if you see the minimum installation option in Recovery Manager (this option has recently been introduced) so I'm afraid there is no way to avoid the installation of all other HP software as part of the recovery process.  The only thing that I could recommend to avoid this in the future is when you have uninstalled all the software that you do not need after recovery, is to create a disk Image that you can then use to restore XP.

Deleted file recovery can recover incomplete files, i.e. the part of these files may be missing.  Recover deleted files is much more reliable if recovery of a backup, instead of using recovery software.

These things depend on the operating system and the file system.

One thing, you can see: open one of these files damaged with a text editor, and then make sure that the constant % PDF is somewhere in the first 1024 bytes.

No, recovering files is read-only. The only time I've seen is file recovery corrupted if HP issues a patch that is capable of writing to them_which rarely occurs.
