tools to move data from a to another laboratory Manager data store?

do you know if it is 3rd third-party tool to move stuff from a data store to another with the Director of the laboratory?

What you are trying to accomplish, and we can help you if you can explain more details.  But for the Director of laboratory, there is a tool call SSMOVE.exe you will need to contact VMware Support for them to give it to you and its not available for free.  This tool allow you to move data from one storage to another Lab Manager environment.  I don't know if it is what you are looking for or you can watch Storage VMotion, but that applies only to the ESX host.

If you found this information useful, please consider awarding points to 'Correct' or 'useful '. Thank you!!!

Kind regards

  • Move data store leads to new host for DR?

I plan on implementing an ESXi host-to-host multiple virtual machines.  My thought is to install ESXi on an internal SD Flash card and then use RAID servers 4 HARD drives 0 + 1 for data warehouses to house the virtual machine.  This will be a simple configuration, just a host, and a few VM.  NIC teaming will be setup using 2 NIC - an edge and an add - on.

With respect to the Dr from a material point of view, I have several questions.

Scenario: Let say esxi host server becomes totally unusable (bad motherboard, cpu, etc.) but readers (SD flash and 4 HARD drives) are stiil good. Lets say I have another server available with disimular CPU and motherboard, but it can accommodate readers (a SD internal flash slot and same for the HARD disk controller)

    1. it would be reasonable to think that I could move the the HARD drive as the virtual machine on the disimilar, resinstall ESXi server and reconfigure the NIC, browse the HARD drive and reimport the VM from the HARD disk and be operational in say 1-2 hours?  I guess it would take upward of two hours?

    2. in addition, how ESXi would manage a hardware change if I were to simply move the SD flash to the disimilar server and then try to start?  ESXi has any means of welcoming cela or he would just break everything (that would be I think)?

    Thank you

    1. the challenge of moving the disks on different hardware will receive recognized disk RAID configuration. If different servers use the same RAID controller then you will probably be ok. If you were to say HP SmartArray Dell PERC, so the RAID array will be probably broken and unreadable data. The vsphere purely do side no problem with re-entry as you say it. Last comment just to be safe I would rebuild with no HARD drive installed, then press down hard disks when the build is finished (burned several times where on install a guest has been poorly read and fresh VMFS partitions created over existing data on the drive.)

    2. it is more than a "maybe", it depends on how the servers are different. Most of the time vSphere has something similar to Plug-and-Play in the world of Windows where new devices (i.e. a new NETWORK card) will be recognized at startup and added. I wouldn't bet on the possibility to take the card to a new server blade HP Proliant DL380 G8 and encourage them to do something useful in a server whitebox with a motherboard ASUS since 2005 for example...

  • Need code Win/XP boot.ini to boot Win7-System Restore from boot on another drive Manager

I'm migrating to Windows/7 Pro x 64 Win/XP Pro SP3 system on a tower of M58p 3063-B8U PC.  I would like to encode a Win/XP Pro boot.ini file line beginning on screen (choice of Windows 7 or system restore) boot manager which is located on a different hard drive, installed in the PC.   I find that F12 on the ThinkCentre BIOS screen is delicate and does not reliably to the top of the boot list, so for the weeks I'm going to need Win/XP Pro SP3, I want to select the hard drive Win/7 Pro SP1 via a Win/XP Pro boot.ini file entry.   As always, your help is greatly appreciated.

The end result is two panels 'boot' if Win/XP Pro is not enabled: the original boot.ini Win/XP Pro and the Windows 7 Boot Manager Panel and the restoration of the system that starts Windows/7 Pro in about 5 seconds.

    Thanks for your comment.

It is a forum of thinkvantage technologies, so the recommendation to move to win7 discussion group. Never, I said that there is a problem with win7

Your request can be resolved simply.

Help to change the file Boot.ini in XP does not work.  XP knows zero on a win7 bcd. Win7 does not have a ntloader.

You have 2 hard drives, 1 with xp, 1 with win7.

    Follow the link to sevenfourms:

    (1) set the bios to boot from hdd win7

You can see your screen. Now the BIOS is out of the picture.

    (2) use easyBCD to add your xp system to the BCD

    (3) during startup, you can select xp or all your options to win7.

    (4) when the transfer goes xp, it will present (second form), who will all be choices coded in the boot.ini file.

I think that will solve your request.

    (5) Note: the Bios selects the first active partition to find a boot loader, in this case, it should be win7.  on the HARD drive provided 1 in the boot list.

    (6) If you start to XP, you will also have the issue of win7 all deletion of restore points.

    (7) http://superuser.com/questions/225770/migrating-windows-xp-boot-ini-settings-to-windows-7-boot-loade...

    (8) personally, I unplug the Sata cable on xp then boot in win7 and vice versa.

    (9) Please stay on topic<>

The sevenfourns post also shows how to add win7 for start XP.  This also requires easybcd to add the loader win7 on xp system.

    Good luck.

  • LKM to move data from one schema to another in the same DB

    Hello

I am new to ODI. My question is simple:

I created a mapping to move data from a table in Figure 1 to another table in Figure 2 (the two schemas in the same Oracle DB.

What is the best LKM Oracle for performance to use in this case? Most of the LKMs using DB link... but is it really necessary that the two schemas are in the same DB?

Ive used SQL knowledge SQL module, but I guess it's probably slower strategy.

    Thank you!

    Vitor Moreira

    Hello

If two phyiscal patterns are on the same database, you want a Phyiscal server with two patterns of phyiscal under this server in your topology, this way ODI will recognize that you don't need a LKM (at all) and mapping will have to IKM / CKM only.

If ODI is to ask a LKM, looks like the two schemas to belong to their own physical server in the topology browser? In this case, it is not optimal.

Just make sure that your user has access to two objects in diagrams and you'll be fine.

If you really want to go Oracle DB Oracle DB then DB link or Datapump for large volumes of data, JDBC/Agent (SQL for SQL) for smaller volumes.

  • Best way to move data from one page to another within the app

Hi all as I started to write that and was way to complicated to explain in full without a novel.

Brief description. I use the query string that begins in the parent (from href in JSON) window must then be moved in the iframe url when moving to other pages to avoid security as a page and iframe is conflicting http and https. and are not accessible... It seems that there must be a better way.

So my question is what is the best way in a platform open to move data from one page to another?

You do it this way, it's in the menu.json, but when you work within the iframe and if your loading pages in applications using vairable relative URLS cross they come through.
Discovered only this framework using the browser and you can se the construction and scope of all URLS used.

The apps are sandboxed you cannot access aything in the parent frame, this is a feature of derliberate if something you can not do.

As I said, you have a few methods to your own data storage space.

  • Move virtual machines from a to another data store

Is there a recommended (or integrated) way to move propelled out of virtual machines from a data store? Or is it a cut simple and working of dough which can be done from any client PC connected to the underlying storage providers?

If both, store data Source and Destination are connected to the same server vCenter, do Storage vMotion. Make a right-click VM--> migrate--> change of data store and select the Destination data store.

  • Move a virtual machine from a to another data store

I ve just added a hard drive on my ESXi server and created a new data store.

I need to free up space on the original data store, what would be the procedure to move virtual machines within the old data store to the new? (and keep them whitout work break)

    Thanks in advance.

    Facundo.

to register for a guest, do a right-click on the .vmx file in the data store window and choose 'Add to inventory', follow the instructions

  • Whenever I have move photos from one folder to another file, the picture is no longer accessible.

I use Windows XP - perfectly up-to-date.  Whenever I have move photos from one folder to another file, the picture is no longer available and cannot be removed with using unlocker.  This has happened for several years.  I copy pictures and new folders whenever I want to move them, but sometimes I forget and move them and then I lose the picture I'm trying.  I also noticed that there is a strange file that opens in the trash that won't let me remove it without using unlocker. These files start with "Dd" followed be a number.  When I delete these use unlocker, another will appear the a different number on this subject.  It is a very maddening problem.  It is not possible for me to do a system restore because it lasts for quite awhile.  Please help - I'm tired of losing pictures that I can't replace.  Thank you for your help.

    Hi JB_11321,

    Thanks for the reply.

Have you tried methods 1 and 3 mentioned in my previous post?

We meet after completing the steps so that we can better help you.

  • Move the location of the VM swap file in another data store

    Hi all

Was in a task to move the 1000 to the file location of VM swap on another data store which is newly assigned to Exchange us to the existing store database file that will be decommissioned.

Eager to check if anyone has made movement swap of VM location of the files to a data store to another and that all measures taken to move.

    Require some VM downtime?

    Thanks in advance a ton.

Yes it is possible without interruption of service to virtual machines.

    1. make sure that your cluster is configured to use swap data store specified by host

    2. take a host in the cluster in maintenance mode, change the location of the VM configuration file to point to the new data store

    3. do this for all hosts in the cluster

When you vMotion a VM from one host to another the swap file will get moved to the new data store. Later when you take guests to the maintenance and return output mode, vMotion occurs for each computer in the cluster virtual and file is moved.

  • VMs migration from one to another on ESXi 5.1 data store (free license)

I'm under ESXi in my lab (for the Cisco voice servers and a few Windows virtual machines). Virtual machines are on a datastore iSCSI hosted by a Netgear ReadyNAS Pro Business. Due to major problems with iSCSI on the ReadyNAS platform and the inability of Netgear to resolve problems (blocking NAS requiring a hard reset), I decided to buy a QNAP TS - 569 L and use it to host my ESXi data store. Now, I'm migrating my VMs from the iSCSI data store hosted on the ReadyNAS to the iSCSI data store hosted by QNAP.

My VMs are supplied thin, and I want to preserve thin provisioning after migration. The data store Navigator ESXi can move (or copy) machines virtual data to another store, but thin-set in service virtual machines become thick-set service once they have been moved (or copied). Somebody advised Veeam to that end, I've installed and configured. Unfortunately, Veeam-error with the message that the current license does not have the migration of virtual machines from a data store to another. Just today, I learned that he must have at least the ESXi Essentials ($500) license to allow this type of migration of Veeam.

I also tried OVFTool (the MMware command line utility), using the following syntax:

    . / ovftool - ds QNAP-iSCSI - dm = vi thin: / / vi [email protected]/CUCM-Pub: / / [email protected]

    where:

QNAP-iSCSI is the name of the data store on the QNAP

192.168.200.10 is the IP address of my box of ESXi that is connected to two data stores iSCSI (the one organized by the ReadyNAS and the other by the QNAP).

CUCM-Pub is the name of the virtual machine on the ReadyNAS iSCSI data store I'm migrating to the QNAP iSCSI data store.

However, I get the following error message:

Error: Unexpected Option: vi: / / [email protected]/CUCM-Pub

This is probably due to the same issue - free ESXi license does not allow this type of VM migration. So, what are my options with free ESXi license? I'm not willing to pay $500 for the license of the essential at this stage.

    Thank you!

A few options, I can think of are:

    • export to the FVO and re - import
    • use VM explore Trilead and backup/restore virtual machines
    • Use the vmkfstools command to copy the virtual disks

  • Move a virtual machine in another data store

    Hello

On our ESX 4, we have created pools of resources and multiple data on SAN warehouses.

To move that a VM resource with Betclic is very easy, but howto move a virtual machine from a to another data store?

If I understand your question you should migrate your VM to the different data store.

Right-click on a virtual machine, select migrate..., select Change location of data, select the desired data store, select virtual disk format (end/thick)...

  • Ability to move songs from one playlist to another

I want to spend the songs in a playlist to another. It seems, that you can´t move the songs, but you can add them to other playlists. After that, I have to remove it from the previous list.

It is extra work that can be avoided, if "move" menu will be executed in ITunes. "

I'm not the first person who wants the same thing. See, for example move the songs in a playlist to another, -playlist-to-another-on-iPad/td-p/120348 https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-iOS-iPhone-iPad/How-to-move-songs-from-one

    I am running Windows, ITunes 12.3.2.35 64-bit

Yet another candidate for iTunes comments. That said if you have done the selection and used the right click Add to Playlist option is really so difficult to then click on remove, while the tracks are always selected in the original list?

  • How can I move notes from one folder to another?

I thought that some of my notes were missing, but it seems that some are stored in icloud and the other in different files associated with my personal email address.  How can I make sure that they are all on the icloud (in case I lose my phone, when I update my phone, etc.)?  How can I move them from one folder to another?  I not create separate records in the first place. I guess it happened when I updated to the current IOS.  Thanks for your help!

Slide left on each note you want to move to your iCloud folder. Move and delete option is available. The rest is simple.
