Top of the page in the forum user?

You wonder how the "User top in the forum" has that qualification - the user apparently has '0' messages. ;-)

  • Why can't I see the forum user responses that use Facebook as a way?

    When I'm on a blog like Powerlineblog.com or AZcentral.com letters to the editor who use Facebook as their messaging support, there is never any comments from the user although if I use Chrome I can see them all. I tried to disable AdBlock +, but it does not help. This started about 6-8 weeks ago.

    You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

    Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

    Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

    Is - this intentional? A colleague also gets a "permission denied" error when you try to make a post.

  • A forum I visit has a 'Top' button that returns you to the top of the page - this feature works on all browsers except Firefox.

    This forum has a "top button at the bottom of each page." Clicking on it does the same function that hit the Home button, that is, it brings you to the top of the page. It works on other browsers, but does not work with Firefox.

    There is no element with a name or id 'top' on this page, and that this will not work with Firefox.

    I got the update & wanted to read exactly what's new/different. I saw the thread that has included the 'android 2.2 guide' & downloaded.

    I think that this guide is not specially for the Droid users because:

    (1) 24 page discusses the use of a "trackball".   Had my phone since December and have yet to see a trackball.

    (2) page 63, step #3 says press the wireless networks and Portable Hatspot .   The menu of my phone doesn't display wireless networks & shows no Portable Hotspot.

    Am I missing something or is - this guide specific user to another phone, possibly the Droid X? I wish I could use my phone as a wireless hotsopt, but if this is not possible, does anyone know where to find the version of the 2.2 user guide for the original owners Droid.

    In the pages of the coursera.org forum, there are different icons and buttons. They do not display correctly. I can see only tiny forms square with characters in them. Hovering on them can display information in some cases, but it is not very convenient. Although they recommend Firefox, I use Chrome instead. Chrome has no questions here so far. Is it possible to view these icons correctly?

    Many sites now use downloadable fonts to create their icons instead of the traditional image files. So, there are some Firefox settings that might be a factor, as well as the NoScript extension, if you use this (blocked objects).

    (1) in the dialog box fonts Advanced, unchecking the checkbox which allows the site to use its own choice of fonts. To check that:

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > content > button "Advanced".

    Here you must "allow pages to choose their own fonts.

    (2) on the deactivation of fonts downloaded in: config. It's less likely, or you remember probably not, but here's how to check on it.

    • In a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.
    • In the search box at the top of the list, type or paste the gfx and make a pause so that the list is filtered
    • If gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled preference is bold and user, set false, double-click it to return it true.

    This seems useful.

    I'm having a similar problem I think started after an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows professional 10. In my case, all documents are losing 1/4 inch of the top margin. When I print a document, it also loses the same 1/4 inch at the top. So if I copy a printed document again and again, I lose a 1/4 inch extra with each copy of the previous copy.

    I tried to delete the printer and then reinstall the software and drivers (HP site). There was no change as a result of this effort.

    I would hope that there is a simple solution.

    There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

    A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

    If I understand correctly, you can simply change the margin in the following rule:

    #contact-support-link {

    margin: 8px 0 0;
    padding: 0;

}

    to something like this:

    This problem occurs more often when you clicked on a link on a website to bookmark the site. Do not click on "bookmark this site" or a similar link/button on web sites.

    To correct each of the affected bookmarks, make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is selected/checked by doing one of the following:

    • Open the Favorites bar (Ctrl + B to open or close the bookmarks bar), right-click on the offending bookmark, choose 'Properties', last question at bottom above the buttons ' Save/Close.
    • In the library window (bookmarks > show all bookmarks), click on the offending bookmark, click on the button "More" at the bottom of the details (right-hand) pane, item is the last item above the word "lower to."
