Topology of Nexus 5 k / FCoE extending between 2 campus

Hello

I need help to answer the following questions related to the interconnection of 2 campuses (top and bottom in the attached diagram) using the ports of FCoE Nexus 5 K:

Please check the attached topology.

QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

Multi-hop FCoE:

·         The link (10G, SFP +) between pairs of N5k, interconnecting 2 campuses, carry FCoE traffic (Ethernet and FC on the same link):

·         Can servers with the adapters of the ANC in the lower Campus, store access the CF in the upper Campus?

·         Can the server with HBA FC adapters in the lower Campus, store access the CF in the upper Campus?

·         Can expand us the tissue 2fc between the 2 sites using this link of FCoE?

·         This link can carry the traffic of Ethernet between 2 LANs (between Upper and Lower campus)

Thank you.

It is therefore 3km for FCoE traffic. "but in the case of traffic FC (via FCoE)(, ce que je veux dire si nous avons deles de serveurs avec deles de adaptateurs HBA FC dans le Campus inférieur, accès àle stockage FC dans le Campus supérieur) binding, is it always 3 km limitation? or less?

-> 3 km, independent how the initiators and targets are connected. (Limitation is for a single jump of FCoe)

About using the native CF option to extend this link (of course withouth ethernet), to go for an MDS switch? or module of the simple use of the CF to the Nexus 5 k 2?

-> You can do it directly using CF Module if you run the N5K in switching mode (not in NPV Mode)

do you have a referral link, mentioning these distances?

-> Sorry I also had this information via Cisco SE

    Hi all

I am fairly new to the world of storage and now I'm working on the FCoE multihop test laboratory. I have a few questions that need to be clarified and some examples of caonfiguration that need to be corrected. I've also attached the logical topology for my lab. Here is the information on my topology:

    • Blue = line ethernet
    • Red line = CF
    • Green = line FCoE
    • 2xN5K with NXOS v5.xx
    • 1xFI 6120 with UCSM v2.1
    • NetApp FAS2200
    • I activated fcoe and npiv pn my 2xN5K function

What I want to do done VSAN (VSAN 360 and 361 VSAN) NetApp 2 and connect it to CF link to my 2xN5K as FC and then continue downstream, it my FI and UCS blade via link FCoE. Here are some questions I want to ask questions on:

    1. From what I read, we must separate FCoE traffic ethernet traffic in this scenario, that's why I use 2 FCoE links separated beside 2 ethernet (on vPC configuration) link, from 2N5K to FI. Is this true?
    2. To activate the FCoE, we map the VLAN-VSAN, and from what I've read, there are separate VLANS for this VLAN mapping VSAN that carries the normal ethernet traffic. Is this true?
NB: I have 2 VLAN on blade UCS (260 and 261) and for this FCoE connectivity, I create 2 VLAN more (360 and 361) map to VSAN 360 and 361.
    3. This question have a link with #2--> from what I've read, the traffic of VLAN than carry FCoE traffic can not pass vPC link Peer, that's why I created different VLAN so that on vPC Peer link I can filter FCoE VLAN (VLAN 360 and 361). Is this true?
    4. By N5K links that are connected to the FI must be configured in F mode, what links that connect directly to NetApp (Interface type = CF)? On which mode is it?

I think that's all for now, I hope that you guys can guide me in this world of storage. I await your response. Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

    IJE Hello,

    (1) Yes, you must use the uplink dedicated for FCoE when you use vPC between FI and N5K. If you do use VPC (IE FI has <---->N5K-== directly via the mode), you can use rising unified (FCoE + LAN) on the same physical links.

    (2) Yes. You will use same ID VLAN-VSAN on FI and N5K to be part of the same fabric.

    (3) Yes, don't allow VLAN FCoE links counterparts vPC.

  • Double room Nexus 2348UPQ / Max ports for vPC links

    Hi people,

Cisco Nexus 2348UPQ has 24 to 10 GB uplink interfaces. Supposedly on the distribution layer, we have a pair of Cisco Nexus 5548UP, how many ports we can group about 2348 for vPC for double-homing links.

-If you decide to use the drop cable instead of the 40 G uplinks, please note the following limitation:

The 2348TQ of Cisco Nexus and Nexus 2348UPQ FEX, if a port channel is used to connect a switch parent with a tissue Expander device, the port channels can have up to 8 ports.

Nexus 2348 FEX devices have a total of 6 * 40 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports to the parent switch. If these are used with native port of 40G uplinks on a switch of parent, there is no limitation. 6 ports can be used in a hosted configuration only hosted or double. You can also use 40 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports on the extensor of N2348 fabric with 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports on the switch to parent when it is used with the appropriate wiring. A maximum of 8 ports can be added to the string of port between the parent switch and the fabric Extender. If it's a double hosted configuration, VPC for the extensor of fabric, only 4 ports per switch are allowed in the channel of the port.

  • How to import contacts to android

After I reset my one touch heat e I re - import my contacts from my old nexus of Galaxy, which extends from cyanogen with local contacts.

I can export the ther contacts in different formats - the last time I did, I does in vcf, csv and xml - but only csv has worked to import.

but: all metadata was messed up.

This is my vcard format that I get Android (CSV):

    -no name
    BEGIN:VCARD\nVERSION:2.1\nN:; Test; ------nFN:Test\nTEL; CELL: 000 - 000\nEND:VCARD\n

    -with lastname
    BEGIN:VCARD\nVERSION:2.1\nN:Tester; Test; ------nFN:Test Tester\nTEL; CELL: 000 - 000\nEND:VCARD\n

Filed any not all names and 'CELL' is not interpreted as a phone number, indead all numbers listed as "NULL" (nice to see on every phone call.)

also N and FN fields where not interpreted completely or correctly. After import, I had ~ 10% contacts without name field filled in.

What is the right way to import contacts from an account local android (whithout proprietary components)?

    the problem was:

Android has stored contacts in vCard 2.1 format.

by following the instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-manage-and-share-contacts-firefox-os#w_import-from-phone-memory-or-memory-card, I managed to convert contacts to vCard 3.0 format.

    Once the import worked!

This morning helped the nightly update manifest. However, he hung Mid-implementation to date. Noticed CPU has increased substantially to about 85%. Tried disabling add-ons, safemode, reboot... • Time capsule assigned IP but no internet

I'm in a two-story house where the wireless network may not extend between the upper and lower floors, so I bought an additional TC A1470 in addition to my express A1392 to connect via ethernet cable from 25 meters from my router upstairs.

When I hang up of the time capsule bridge of the GET a IP assigned from the router, but does not have an internet connection. I can not even the IP Address of the router.

When I connect the express in bridge mode, everything is great. Connection of low latency to the router with no packet loss.

When either one is put in via a cable short 2 m, they work very well, although the TC does not seem to turn off 5 GHz when I told it to.

Have you tried cycling the router while the TC is connected to nothing does not. If I move the cable between one and the other express picks it up instantly.

    Any suggestions?

What you have described the router down is an another Time Capsule, is that correct?

In bridge, the TC can better work with the ethernet connected on the LAN instead of WAN port... have you tried that?

Then, I suspect that your 25 M ethernet cable is not good... If it works on a 2 M connection cable, there is a chance that the 25 M is made of twisted... cables this wrong... the code for (full gigabit) ethernet is max 5 M flat cable... the rest should be in full soul.

It can run on the express because it has only 100 Mbps ports... the TC with gigabit ports fails because it attempts to get the gigabit speed but fails.

  • I need autoscaling on a graph XY to ignore a parcel

I'm doing the autoscaling to ignore one of the three locations on a XY Chart.  My program trace a set of data points, that approach and exceed a critical level.  My chart has three parcels: under the limit points are green points, points above the limit are red dots, and the limit is a horizontal dotted line extending between two points.  Initially, endpoints of the line have been established in the vicinity of the x-values of data.  Autoscaling worked very well, of course, but the line analyses as well as the data they are traced.  This limit is a fixed value, I like the line to stretch completely on the screen and stand still.

To this end, I put endpoints beyond the limits of the x values.  Now, auto-scaling of the tracks with the endpoints of the line and the actual data are compacted in the middle of the graph.  Is it possible I can forward the autoscaling only with data points and ignore the line, or is the best option, just write my own code, autoscaling?

    Thank you!

You could wirte your own automatic scale, but I think is easier to do something to change your horizontal line of a parcel of a cursor. You can use the list property of cursor or active (the control graph) the cursor property to control positioning and the color of the cursor, and you have not to worry ever its end points (there no).

  • Analysis of multiple files

I am trying to parse data that extends between several files on several groups of PDM and channels.

The files are contiguous blocks of the same sampled signals (i.e. they are split only to allow the viewing and effective storage).

I need to analyze each of the signals individually and therefore plan concatenate the data of each channel for all the files and then run an analysis of waveform "en masse."

I generate 288 cases per day, each with about 200 channels. Each daily analysis will therefore contain approximately 8.6 million samples.

However, due to restrictions of memory, I need concatenate each channel individually, rather than using a single continuous file.

I use multiple readings to the same files to extract the information from each channel.

What is the best way to read same files multiple times?

Is it better to open all the files in an array of references PDM and then do a reading for each channel, only the closing of records at the end of the analysis?

Or he would be better open/read/close each file for each channel?

Sorry if this is obvious or answered before!

So getting back to your question, my advice would still be just open/read/close files once. I also recommend to check if it is possible for you to change the data type (for example from double to single data type or even raw). It would be much smaller file size, and therefore increase the read performance.

  • Need help on the parameters v1 WRT160N

Recently upgraded to the higher speed package from comcast, but haven't seen any increase in speed for wireless connections.

Firm ware upgrade and then downloaded the user manual to go with the default wireless settings.  And it ran very slow.  Paid $30 for a Lynksis tech support session and my wireless connections is getting worse.

When I run the speed test (speedtest.net) through the PC connected via ethernet cable to the Linksys router I get 28 Mbps download, 35 Mbps upload... it's cool.

All the machines and wireless phones, barely running.

Windows 7 PC - shows 130 Mbit/s connection to the router, but it extends between. - 3.5 Mbps down load (Yes they are the decimal points). 6 Mbps to the top

High MacDesk (have no idea of his Apple connection speed and they don't want you know).87 Mbps download, upload 6.45.

    MacBook - download 1.2, 6.46 upload.

iPhone 4S barely operate the wireless turned off and run the data on the AT & T network to maintain peace in the family.

Current settings are in the owner's Manual:

    Wireless Configuration: manual

    Network mode: mixed

    Radio band: Auto

    Scale channel: Auto

    Standard channel: Auto

    SSID Braodcast: enabled

    Wireless security: WPA2 Personal

    TKIP or AES encryption type

Any thoughts would be appreciated, because I'm barely on the internet at home with this router...

    So here's the fix:

Go buy Apple Airport Extreme and the Lynksis of junk.

Set up took about 2 minutes and like products apple does not have many settings to trashing holder / or about with.

Download all devices wireless in the 15-18 Mbps.  We could get better in charge of speeds, but all three computers family are now on the internet and family is Happy!

    IPhones are really happy too.

Sorry, products cisco should be easy to use.

  • PowerConnect 8132 routed Port

    Good morning/afternoon everyone,

I come from a world of Cisco, but we decided to buy Dell PowerConnect 8132 because they were cheaper. In Cisco, I can easily make a port on the router, for example:

interface GigabitEthernet0/2 no switchport ip address 10.3.0.1 255.255.0.0

How do I do that in these switches? I tried searching google, but seemed to have come up with nothing that has helped me. I would assume it'd be something along the lines of:

    #> configure(config)#> int tengigabitethernet 1/0/2

    (config-if-te1/0/2) # ip address 10.3.0.1 255.255.0.0

However, that Ip address command isn't available under interface for me. The few websites I have found indicated it should.

Any help would be great, thanks!

You are right there is no command on physical interface to set an ip address. When usinh series PowerConnect you put the physical port (te1, 0, 2) mode for certain a switchport VLAN.

    switchport mode access # (config-if-te1/0/2)

(config-if-te1/0/2) # switchport access vlan xx

Access the xx interface VLAN, and then enter the required IP address.

    Console (config) #interface vlan xx

    Console (config-if-vlanxx) #ip address 192.168.10.10 255.255.255.0

VLAN you configure it is the network that extends between the 2 devices which you connect to layer 3.

Here is a link to the manuals available for the 8100 model.

    I hope this helps.

Manage ports Uplink Fiber Channel FCoE traffic between the interconnection of fabric and the next layer of the

SAN storage network. All FCoE network-related traffic is pinned to one of these ports.

By default, the Fibre Channel ports are uplink. However, you can configure them to work as Fibre Channel

  • allow traffic through remote client

    Hi friends,

    I'll explain my setup.

I have an asa in datacenter with the static ip address, then site Office also having static ip, these two sites are connected via VPN and I configured the remote client to the data center.

workers of remote client needs to access the network of site office. It's my setup.

the problem I faced is that remote workers they cannot access the site office network.but if I try to ping the ip vpn site office pool and then if I try

the remote client, I can able to access the siteoffice of the remote client.

Please provide me with the solutions experts

I understand that you have the following topology:

    (1) Lan-to-Lan VPN between data center and site office

    (2) VPN Client that connects to the data center and here also join the site Office.

There are a few things that need to be configured for the VPN Client to access the site office:

    On the ASA Data Center:

    -command "permit same-security-traffic intra-interface"

-Tunnel of Split ACL must include the site LAN Office

-Crypto ACL for LAN-to-LAN VPN must include the following:

    permit ip access list

    On the ASA site Office:

-Crypto ACL for LAN-to-LAN VPN must include the following:

    permit ip access list

    -NAT exemption must include:

    permit ip access list

    Hallo,

I would like to know why the methods that I create in the request Module cannot be exposed to the client if they return a simple type or serializable.

If the method returns a custom class object I solve the problem by simply writing next to the defining class "implements Serializable.

I would like to know if it's still OK, or for a custom class with some features I really need to implement the serialization (de).

    Thank you

    Federico

Return values must be serializable nexus him must be transported between servers and memory a store if your module gets passive

Is normally enough tto implement the serializable interface. But in doing so you do not make the class serializable automatically. To do this, you must check if each attribute or class variable is serialized or to be transitory if they are not serialize the value.
