Toshiba Portege series 7100 recovery

Please can someone help?

I have a laptop Toshiba Portege 7100 series has no recovery disk that does not work properly. Can I reset factory default? If so, how?

Can I restore laptop without the disc?

Yes you can set it to factory settings, but for this you need original Toshiba Recovery CD for this laptop model. I presume that you don't have, but you can do your own installation of the OS. The drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page.

Sorry, but your question is is not clear to me.

If you are a lucky man, you could get the EPA recovery disc in your country, but in very rare cases the recovery disc may be pronounced if the series laptop is too old.

  • Portege R700 - original recovery image re-failed installation

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Portege R700 for years.
As I have already some difficulties, I did a reinstall it a few years since the recovery partition. Directly.

But, a few days ago, I had some problems with my portege.
HARD drive seems to be broken because it making the noise and was really, really, really,..., very slow.
Yes, after you perform a backup of the data for hours and hours (remember, it was really, really slow), I run a complete reinstallation of "recovery partition". It seems to be good, but... never finished the process, with the same noise from HDD and slower HARD drive IO.

OK, my own diadnostic: change the HARD drive.
This done, and by using the recovery DVD Toshiba just bought (Yes cannot find the DVD of burn of factors), I have the same question.... The recovery process does not end even if im waiting for days...
And I have the same HARD drive noise. With the new!

In order to have an MSDN license, I installed a Win7 Pro 32 bit, but not the Toshiba one.

And he is running for days without any problem!

But I have to reinstall all the drivers and software supplied by Toshiba.

Obviouly I prefer to find what exactly is the problem with this Portege and reinstall the version of Toshiba Windows 7 Pro.

So, if someonre read the story until the question is: NO IDEA?
How to do a HW diagnosed? How to identify the exact problem?

    Thanks for your help.

    Joel

It is really strange. You bought brand new HARD drive or you use a old and used as a replacement?
Have you used recovery disks in the past with success? I mean maybe it's the recovery disc a troublemaker.

  • Toshiba Portege R500 - external display display problem

At my work, we have a number of series laptops Toshiba Portege R500. All laptops are home in a Toshiba Slim Port Replicator II. Laptops are all running a version of Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 applied (and of course a few customization business).

The problem is with the display on the external monitor. The laptop starts according to the normal and connects to the fine. The Fn + F5 key and so we can switch between the external LCD screen and the laptop monitor. We can also extend the desktop on the external monitor without problem.

The problem is that when the disconnection of the laptop computer to the port replicator, when the laptop is brought back, the display of the external monitor does not display anything. The monitor receives a signal that we don't get errors about "cable disconnected" etc. By bike by Fn + F5, the monitor will go to sleep (as the adjustment is only to be on the laptop screen). By pressing Fn + F5 again, the monitor seems to wake up but there is no display on the external monitor.

The only resolution we have found because so far, it's to stop & restart the laptop and the external screen works again. However detach and the problem occurs again.

Thought this might be a driver problem or a problem of Toshiba Utilities, so have updated the drivers accordingly. The drivers installed by default are the Intel 945 Express 6.14.10.4837 driver version. I tried to update the drivers for the next version (using drivers from the Web from Toshiba site) and changes to the version of the driver 6.14.10.4631. I also tried the Intel driver version 14324.

I also installed the Toshiba screen utilities and shortcut keys to see if this may have an effect, but unfortunately not. I also tried to change the BIOS settings for the display of 'Automatic Selection' to LCD + CRT RGB, and once again it has no effect. I also tried several configurations in the "display settings" does not.

Is this just a design problem? Is anyway to fix that?

    Hello

I Portege R500 in front of me with the same port replicator and 21 "Toshiba TFT display (connected to the DVI port on the Port Replicator).

Please open "Toshiba Mobile Extension" utility (you can find it in Control Panel), then click on the second tab > change of display service.
If please activate this service and choose your preferred display output.

I tested it 10 minutes ago and it works perfectly.

    Good bye

  • where to find windows vista 32 bit OEM Toshiba Portege laptop

I need the OEM version of windows Vista 32 bit for Toshiba Portege M750 - 10G.

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

With a Toshiba, you press 0 (zero) to start to start the ro process of factory of the recovery Partition recovery.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

Who should download the installation diskettes? You must download the installation diskettes if all the following conditions are met:
    • You install a new version, full of the retail Windows XP.

Note An upgrade to Windows XP installation does not require the installation diskettes.

    • You have a working CD drive, but you cannot start your computer from your CD-ROM.
    • You can start your computer with a floppy drive.

someone of you can help me with the original recovery CD Toshiba for my Portege P2000. My unfortunately does not work and I have to re - install the system.

Thank you very much in advance for those who might be able to help me.
    Greetings from Paris
    Rainer

  • Too old to send the Toshiba Portege recovery CD

I bought a Portege R100 on eBay, which came with W2k Pro installed. The aircraft had a Windows XP Pro COA sticker slot, I thought that I would install XP instead.

Toshiba, however, tell me that they are unable to send me a recovery CD because the device was shipped with SP1 and Microsoft "will not allow" Toshiba to send CDs of recovery of these units.

Is that what I can do, other than buying a new copy of sale at retail of XP?

It seems that it's not possible!
But you can install the OS from the original CD of Microsoft and may download all necessary and important page of the Toshiba Europe driver XP drivers.

  • Product is complete recovery - Toshiba Portege M300 does not start

    Hello.

I have a Portege M300 Toshiba I got again in 2006. It has progressively slower over the years, so yesterday, I thought I would use the product recovery CD to reinstall the factory settings.

Put the CD in restarted with F12, selected CD player, follow the instructions on the screen, he went through unpacking process... but once completed and handed over to market get you the Toshiba welcome screen then it seems that it will start, but it blocks just with a white screen... nothing not even a cursor flashing.

The hard disk does not even appear to be spinning?
I tried this process now 6 times and I'm starting to pull my hair!

    Anyone got any ideas?

    > The hard disk does not appear still to be spinning?
Well, it looks like a disc is defective.
The blinking cursor is a typical sign of a malfunction of the HARD drive.
I think that you need to replace the HARD drive and should reinstall the OS once more

    Good luck
