Too old to send the Toshiba Portege recovery CD

I bought a Portege R100 on eBay, which came with W2k Pro installed. The aircraft had a Windows XP Pro COA sticker slot, I thought that I would install XP instead.

Toshiba, however, tell me that they are unable to send me a recovery CD because the device was shipped with SP1 and Microsoft "will not allow" Toshiba to send CDs of recovery of these units.

Is that what I can do, other than buying a new copy of sale at retail of XP?

It seems that it's not possible!
But you can install the OS from the original CD of Microsoft and may download all necessary and important page of the Toshiba Europe driver XP drivers.

  • Windows 7 can't detect the TOSHIBA Portege M400 RAID driver

I put to level my M400 tablet from Windows XP to Windows 7.

Questions of compatibility check out, all right. In research I realized I needed to upgrade the RAID driver to a version of Win7. So I downloaded which, from my external hard drive to install to Win7, and installing Win7 can't find it. I tried the same thing with a variant of Vista with no luck. Even through the installation on the hard drive itself, nothing happened. Impossible to get in the tio silent run command prompt, absolutely nothing. I'm back where I throw this computer out of my 4th story window.

    Any help please?

    Hello

Where did you download the RAID driver?
Please try to download the RAID driver on the Toshiba site directly. These drivers are pre-tested and should work on your laptop too.

The older Portege M400 taken Windows 7 isn't supported so in the worst case, you can t use it.
But normally the drivers should work on Vista so make sure you are using the correct driver.

  • Satellite C55A - 1 K 6 - partition which is necessary for the Toshiba system recovery?

    I have a laptop that Toshiba Satellite C55A - 1 K 6.

In the past, I deleted the Partition Recovery Toshiba by mistake and now I want to ask the cause of the thing of this...

When I go to disk management in Windows 8 (which preinstalled by Toshiba on my laptop) I see four partitions...

The first partition is close to 1 GB and I think his need for Windows 8, then I see C and D for my Windows 8 and at the end there is a 11 GB partition and it is hidden and it does not appear in my computer in Windows...

I just created 3 * 4.5 GB defined via Rescue Media Creator Toshiba Recovery DVD and now if I delete all the partitions on the hard drive, can I use these DVD media to restore my laptop to its original state, when I bought it or that I still need the recovery Partition on the HARD drive instead of using recovery DVd media?

If I delete all the partitions on the hard drive now, are these DVD media are enough to return to the first State independent or not?

Sorry for my bad English and I hope to describe things in my head... :)

    Sincerely...

    > in the past, I have deleted the error Toshiba Recovery Partition
It was really bad move since the recovery partition is necessary in order to create the recovery disk or recover the laptop with HARD drive recovery option.

    > The first partition is close to 1 GB and I think that his need of Windows 8.
    That s right.

    > then I see C and D for my Windows 8
    That s right

    > and at the end there is a 11 GB partition and it is hidden and it does not appear in my computer in Windows.
It looks like the recovery partition. But I put t understand why you said earlier that you deleted the Toshiba recovery partition. Could you please clarify this statement?

    > I just created 3 * 4.5 GB defined via Rescue Media Creator Toshiba Recovery DVD and now if I delete all the partitions on the hard drive, can I use these DVD media to restore my laptop to its first State

The recovery DVD set would be to format the HARD drive and would recreate once more all partitions.
The answer is: Yes, it will restore the laptop to the State as on the first day of purchase.

By the way: I found another thread that you created on the same theme:

  • Can I recover fom the Toshiba disk recovery programs?

I have an A350 satellite that came with a Windows 7 upgrade offer that I intend to use. I created recovery disks, but I guess that these only restore an image of the Vista partition and not be able to install all programs accompanying the A350 such as Ulead DVD MovieFactory for TOSHIBA and a TOSHIBA DVD player, is this correct? I believe that I can download Vista 32 and 64-bit drivers from the Toshiba web site and utilities system and these should be OK for Windows 7, maybe around the release date of the versions of Windows 7 for Windows 7 can be made available.

    Thank you
    Martyn

    Hi mate

Well, the Toshiba Recovery disk contains the image, and that image contains the OS, drivers, tools and utilities
Usually using this disk, you'd be abele to give the laptop to factory settings to the same State as on the first day of purchase

So if you didn't receive extra on the disc that contains the Ulead DVD Movie Factory or another applications that software should be a part of the image.

Notes; your HARD drive will be formatted using the recovery disk all would be erased as the partitions on the HARD disk.

  • My MacBook Pro is too old to run the latest version of the Adobe Creative Cloud?

    Hi people,

I downloaded a demo of Illustrator a few weeks ago and it kept crashing.

One of my colleagues has suggested that my computer is perhaps too old already...

But I got more ready-made creative cloud in 2012. And I think that I abandoned it in 2014.

Maybe my laptop can't handle the current version? I also wonder if it cannot even manage the last update of macOS... been a little slow since I upgraded.

    Here are the specs:

    What do you think?

    Thank you for your time!

It makes sense to buy one that suits at the time where you can afford.

Be aware that office creative Cloud such as Photoshop and Illustrator won't work on the iPad Pro. The iPad Pro works mobile operating system from Apple iOS, so it will only work the cloud of mobile applications.

Adobe mobile, iPhone, iPad, Android apps | Adobe Creative Cloud

It cannot run any desktop cloud that require Apple's OS X operating system.

A well specified MacBook Pro will give good service and run applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator Office...

  • Re: Question about the Toshiba HDD Recovery tool

    Hello
Quick question: if I burn a disc of recovery using 'Toshiba recovey media creator', if it burns a picture of the current state of the computer or if it burns an image of the HARD drive restorations (means a clean image)?
I have a recovery disk in drive D but I want a backup on dvd disc.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Not sure, I didn't create Toshiba Recovery disk, but I think it burns an image of HARD drive recovery. But I don't know, if you use a software, Acronis true image, you can burn the image to the current state of the computer.

  • Where to order the Toshiba Recovery disk?

    Hello

Basically, I need to reinstall my Windows Vista bought as a new drive HARD and obviously have no the recovery for my windows vista disk. Reflected on the Toshiba Media Recovery but can not use because I bought my laptop in Australia, so my serial number is not recognized.

Please help me solve this long-standing problem.

    Rory

    Hello

I think that in this case you cannot use a normal Microsoft disc or contact you a service provider in Australia. Maybe they can send you a recovery disk in your current country.

As I have already said in the worst case you will need to use a Microsoft disc, then download and install all drivers at Toshiba page. Then, you have factory settings too backward.

  • HowTO: Toshiba HDD Recovery after the new installation of Windows 7

If you install a new windows format or toshiba by a cd of windows you will not be able to see the Toshiba Hdd Recovery on F8 to restore the menu.

    Like this

So if you have a recovery partition, you can make a recovery system to factory default. Follow these steps...

    1. format your USB key. Paste that file to a usb flash drive.

2 - reboot the system and press F12 to start from usb...

After these steps you can restore the system to factory default...

    Thanks for your interesting ad.
I m very interested in how it works and will try to test it soon.

  • Re: Partitioning is a problem with the Toshiba recovery system?

I'm french, so don't be afraid of mistakes.

I wonder if I can I repartition my HARD drive I want

First, I explain what I realized with the FAQ:
If Vista wouldn't boot, Toshiba Recovery in WinRE (eisa configuration) hidden partition offer we have to fix, and then use the DVD burn or HDDRecovery directory in E: to repair partition.

My question is if I don't have the DVD (or I lost it):
If I can I repartition my HARD drive (not the partition recovery, but expand the C: partition to reduce E :) partition without causing problems to recovery?)
In other words the recovery to the boot partition will update the position of recovering files in E:
And if it works, can I just copy - paste the E: c: HDDRecovery then E: while I format E:
    Thank you for your answers

    Hello!

If you copy the folder of disk recovery HARD complete with all the files it should normally work, but I do not know Mr. I had never tried it.

But if you have the Toshiba disk recovery is on the safe side. So, you can restore the factory settings whenever you want.
