Toshiba Recovery creator VS Windows Recovery Drive

Hello.

Windows 8 overs the ability to write a recovery on USB drive for reset, restore etc.
Toshiba comes with the recovery media creator.

Is there a difference between the two? Do I need to recover allowing windows 8
but also use software Toshibas to create the recovery disks?

Thank you in advance.

Each Toshiba laptop with preinstalled operating system is preinstalled with Toshiba recovery image. This recovery image is created by Toshiba and it's created for some portable model.
With the other made-up words recovery image is created for each laptop with the hardware platform specific model. This recovery image contains OS, all the necessary drivers for some platform and the specific tools of Toshiba and utilities.

This recovery image is saved on the HARD disk. Using the Toshiba Recovery creator pre-installed, you will create a bootable recovery media and use this media, you will be able to install this recovery image on the HARD drive. After the installation of recovery media guests to new factory settings.
This recovery media can be used if there are some problems to start the installation of HARD drive recovery, in case when HDD is faulty and you need a new or if you make HDD upgrade.

This recovery image has nothing to do with any option Windows. It's Toshiba specific solution for laptop owners.

    Hello Igor

In my opinion, you must create recovery disk before upgrade you to Win7. I did the same thing.
Later, if something goes wrong, you can use your disks and install Vista using the created recovery disks.

I don't understand why you want to wait and create these disks after upgrade. This recovery creator disc doesn t create recovery image in the current state, but always the same recovery image, you got with your laptop.

TEMPRO should work in Win7 too.

I want to do a system recovery disc

    Hello

The Recovery Media Creator is a tool of Toshiba which requires Toshiba image files to create the recovery disk. The image files are placed on a different partition called recovery of HARD drive partition.

If the HARD drive has been changed or deleted this partition, the recovery media creator will not be able to find image files and you will not be able to create this disc.

So my question is: you reinstall Windows 7 at your own hand? Did you change the HARD drive in the past?

    Hello

Have you changed anything on your laptop?
I mean if your HARD drive recovery partition has been changed or the data partition thin o has been removed?

To be honest, for me, it looks like the issue of the BONE. I think that it s not a question of simple tool, but I think that the operating system was confused

Maybe you should try to recover the laptop using Toshiba HDD recovery and after the new installation of operating system on your laptop, you can try to create the recovery disk again.

To start the recovery, you must press the F8 key immediately after the laptop has been powered. Then, you choose the first option called fix my computer.
This would lead to a new window and there, you could choose Toshiba HDD recovery.

But note; This recovery would format the whole HARD drive then perhaps you need to back up data before you start this procedure.

  • I need to install TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator on Qosmio F60 - 11F

    Hello.

I have a Qosmio F60 - 11F and I install windows 7 ultimate 64-bit, I have installed all the drivers from the Toshiba site.
I need to install the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator & TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator utilities; I search in the Toshiba site, but nothing is there.
Can someone help me to download these utilities?

Why do you need these tools?
If you have installed your own version of the OS, these tools are useless, and for this reason, they are not available for download and installation.
These tools, you can have if you install Toshiba recovery image only.

  • Cannot start my TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator

    I have laptop Satellite A300-148
Since I bought I tried to create a recovery disk to format my laptop, but every time I try to open 'TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator' this message appears on my face:
ERROR: "(5) to C:\Program Toshiba Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator\Setenv.ini were denied access."
    What should I do?

    Hello

I don't know what the problem is here, but the only thing you can try is to install the operating system with recovery image in the hope after the new installation of OS, that this tool will not work correctly.

The recovery image is recorded on the second partition of HARD drive and to start the recovery installation press F8 after starting your laptop. In advanced startup options, select the first option to fix my computer. When the system recovery options are shown, please choose the last option in recovery Toshiba. After doing this just follow the on-screen menu.

When the operating system is installed, try using Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. I recommend you use high quality DVD-R media.

  • Is it possible to download the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator?

    Hello everyone,

I have a question on the Recovery Media Creator. Is it possible to download it from toshiba.com? Because I can't find it here... I deleted from my computer cell, just thought that I should not use anyway. But now I have to install a second time to remove stuff from my laptop.

Hope someone can help me here,

    Robin.

    Hello

To my knowledge, this is not possible because the Toshiba recovery disc creator is part of the image of Toshiba and it can be used only in connection with the files of images available from Toshiba.

If you would like to format the HARD drive and install the Win 7 OS own then Toshiba image files would be unavailable and the Toshiba Recovery disk Creator will not work.

  • The Toshiba recovery cd contains a copy of the Windows CD

    Hello

The restore cd contains a copy of winows? Also if this is the case, it has a repair option. I hesitate to use the CD because I don't want to lose all my data. I know that when I used a cd of windows in the past that he has a repair option as well as do a full install. Is the the same recovery cd?

    Thank you

    Hello

The restore CD contains image files.
Early Toshiba Recovery CDs have been designed and developed with Norton ghost and you could only find the ghost files. As far as I know that the new version of recovery uses another recovery procedure called RECO.

However, on the two recovery CD, you will find an image that contains the OS, drivers Toshiba, utility and software tools extra.

The old recovery CD supported two option; standard and expert mode.
In expert mode, you can select the partition were that the operating system must be installed. To my knowledge the RECCE version do support this function and format the entire HARD drive!

  • Satellite Pro P300: Error TOSHIBA recovery disc creator

    Hello

Having just received my P300, I tried to create a backup using the TOSHIBA recovery disk creator.
After having inserted a 4.7 GB disc in the DVD drive and backup, while she was refused, a message pops up saying:

    "Cannot read the following file:

    F:\blahblahblah
    Error code: bonnefin
Failed to create the Recovery DVD 1 "

It is clear to me that there was not enough memory on the disk it ends. The size of the disk had also declined about 0.5 GB.

    My main question is:
Do you need to use a DVD-R disc or a DVD + R disc? In addition, is a panasonic disc disc the best type to use?

    Help, please.
    Thanks, JoeC.

    I agree with Akuma.

The problem of compatibility between the DVD and the CD/DVD burner can cause this error.
One of my friends had a similar problem. He tested two different brands of DVD and both were not fully compatible

After the use of the TDK DVD-R, it could burn the image and could create the recovery DVDs.

Therefore, it would be desirable to test various media in order to solve this problem.

    Goodbye & good luck

  • Re: Toshiba Recovery Media Creator - no HDD Recovery area

Hi friends, I bought a new Toshiba Kirabook PSU8SA-00V00U, a few months ago. I wanted to create emergency recovery disks, but whenever I start Toshiba Recovery Media Creator, it comes with a message that HARD drive recovery area undetected.

Then I tried running the recovery environment by pressing 0 at the beginning upward.
It comes with a blue screen saying that can not load from the recovery partition.

I checked with Paragon Hard Disk Partition Manager software that the recovery drive is available.

How do I make a recovery media or connect this HDD in system recovery so that Toshiba Recovery Media Creator detects the recovery disk and made recovery media. If in the future, if I want to reset the PC to factory settings, it will be even coming up with a blue screen saying that it can not load the recovery environment.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Hello

Fact is that the installation of image recovery or recovery media creation works if the machine has only factory settings. In other words, everything must be in original condition without any changes. With the changes I mean, original OS must be installed and the structure of the partitions of HARD drive should not be changed.

If you try to change HARD drive partitions original structure the system in general, or Toshiba recovery media creator, will be confused and will not be able to find what we call markers which provide information on the exact location on the HARD disk where the recovery image is placed or registered.

Did you do something that might be responsible for this situation?
