Touchpad button mode on Linux
Hello. How to activate the touchpad mode 'button' on a Linux operating system? (Ubuntu 13.04, specifically)
I don't speak of the possibility to tap on the 'switch' on the touchpad button, then the volume control bar or the six other top icons ([here's one [image | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9702NL0000R0105182.png] related configuration in Windows operating system]).
Even the ability to simply configure custom areas tap would be useful. Is there a way to define them?
Note: this should work on a Toshiba Satellite A200 too.
Thank you, have a good time.
Some useful information in the Wiki of the Ark: link: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics
There is even a document man describing the possible parameters for the binary file: link: http://linux.die.net/man/5/synaptics
The Ubuntu documentation may also be useful: link: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticsTouchpad
Hope this helps
Problem with touchpad buttons. I have this problem since I bought a computer. The touchpad right button does not work and the left button sometimes behaves as a right. for example. If you press on on the screen, it will open a dialogue window as what the right button usually does. Also, double click does not work right after startup it behaves like a right button once again, so I have to press once on and select open... It can be solved if I press Alt + Cntr + del end then exit with Esc. It solves the problem of double click and right button is still does not work.
1. it's like that since
2. Windows has been reinstalled as suggested without success. I also tried another drive not OEM with a same result
Send it to the service? Any ideas? The mouse works well.
You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba?
Before sending it to the service I will try to update the driver for the touchpad. You can download the driver for the touchpad of Toshiba's official website:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads
If it still doesn't work, you can send it to the service and I have to be a hardware problem, because you have tried everything.
Could someone tell me how to disable the clicking sound when you use the buttons on the touchpad?
What noise do you mean exactly? It come from the speakers?
My touchpad buttons don t create sounds coming from the speakers
There is a single click but its generated by the buttons on the touchpad mechanically and it cannot be disabled.
I need help please. I want to know if there is a possible way to change the button to my Satellie U400 because they become soft and they are not as good and strong as it was before, please someone know if I can delete these and put 2 new sound?
If you don't understand exactly what I want to say take a look at the photo and you will see/understand.
I'm sure that it of possible to replace the touchpad buttons because you can replace everything on a laptop. But I think that it s a little trickier because you must remove a lot of pieces and that's not easy.
You should ask an authorized service provider guys can order the new spare part for you and exchange it. Just write an email, for example, to get in touch with them.
You can find a list of aspic here:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider
I have the laptop mentioned above and the touchpad buttons have lost their sping on the left button. The laptop is 1 month warranty.
Can someone tell me who or where I can get a replacement?
In my opinion best address for you is the closest authorized maker Toshiba. They can get all the pieces of equipment.
But the question is how to exchange all this without maintenance manuals?
Do you have experience with the disassembly procedure?
Hi, I have a Satellite L450D-11V which is only about 3 months, but left under the touchpad button has just broken. It has lost its spring and sank down in the case, so it is now off. Still, it works but not very well and clearly needs repair.
My question is is it useful to open the case to see if something has slipped? The manual does not cover this, but it seems that it can be opened by removing the screws from the case under. My only concern is that I don't want to move something then not be able to re - assemble! A House would be obviously preferable to ship from Toshiba and be without it for a week.
Has anyone else had a problem with the touchpad buttons break after a short period of time?
This is typical warranty issue and even thinking laptop open on your own.
At first you do not have manuals maintenance with an exact description of how to do this and this action may void the warranty.
Contact service, explain the situation and ask how long they need for repair.
I have some confusion with the button Mode with cisco 2960/3560 switches.
I read on many forums and articles, but where things are not clear.

Qus1), what is the exact time to press/hold Mode button to perform two following tasks:
A. password recovery (according to my knowledge 3 sec) good or bad?
Configuration of the switch (start + run) would be safe
After the recovery of password? Yes or no
B. factory default (according to my knowledge 10 dry) good or bad?
I'm afraid, because if I press mode button more than 3 seconds, then
It will delete any configuration of cisco switch. Yes or no

Original title: left click not working not not on HP laptop
On my HP Elitebook 2760p running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, left click on the touchpad button has stopped working. The right click works, the works of pad, (scrolling and click on) it's just the left click. It started after the execution of the new update of adobe. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver synaptec. I tried the mouse fast and slow speed. I tried pressing rigid, flexible, in different places. I would try to uninstall the update from Adobe, but it won't allow me. So I uninstalled Adobe Reader and re-installed. Still nothing. Any suggestions?
You try to run the Adobe Reader removal tool to remove the Adobe reader completely the system software.
See the link to Adobe to download the removal tool:
After retiring, you can check whether the left click works. If it does not, you could get in touch with Adobe support for further assistance on this topic:
If the problem persists, then it may be a hardware problem and you may have to contact HP support for further assistance:
While I'm in Firefox, it seems that I am mode full screen, as my menu bar is missing in the application, but when I looked at how to troubleshoot, it told me to click the mode button full screen (with diagonal arrows) but is not visible anywhere in my browser. If not, how can I exit full screen mode? Thank you!
You get the menu bar if you close this window of Firefox?
On Mac, you can't hide the menu bar as in Windows and Linux, and because the operating system control the menu bar then it may not be a Firefox problem.
You can try:
You can also try to remove the Firefox plist file.
See how the .plist files becomes corrupt and troubleshooting results
Come on in "library > Preferences" and remove the plist for Firefox (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).
Hello, my company gave me a laptop Pavilion Win8.1 running, it has no buttons on the touchpad. How you draw around an object when you use the cutting tool, or how you drag and drop a file? Is a required external mouse? Thank you.
I think Microsoft is yet to come up with a fix for this point 8.1 OS.
Seems that the left click of the mouse has collapsed.
How to solve this problem - ideas or do I need to take to a pc repair shop?
This laptop less than 6 months
I think that you can't fix it yourself.
Seems to be a hardware problem and in such cases, the defective part must be replaced.
In your case, the laptop must be disassembled to access the button of the touchpad.
Disassembly of the laptop is really complicated and should be done by a technician from laptop so I think you should get in contact with the technician of m.
See you soon
Front Mode and Audio/video control buttons do not work
As far as I know the Toshiba utility controls is responsible for the use of the key.
Have you tried to install Toshiba controls?
See the page of the Toshiba driver for this driver.
I have 64 bit Windows 10 installed on my device to score Synaptics Thinkpad T430s. driver version is 184.108.40.206.
My problem is that the buttons below the touchpad will stop randomly work and after some time buttons started working again. Also, cursor freezes randomly. TrackPoint is functioning normally.
Trackpad works like a charm.
This laptop is under warranty, so I contacted Lenovo Sunday. Today, they came and changed the palmrest with touchpad. Now touchpad seems to work OK.
Thanks for your help ColonelOneill!
Hello sweet people.
I just bought a Satellite A210-10 c - that generally surprised me pleasantly because of good performance, sound and others. BUT: The buttons on the touchpad seem to rest loosely on their spring/clip - what would be the right term for this. This makes the right button gently collide when you type (without being too rough with the buttons ;-)).
It seems, however, that the question (I HATE such noises) may disappear after some time of use, leaving just a general trend of the touchpad area vibrate very slightly when dealt too harshly.
It's just the way things are a budget like this book? Similar experiences and a prognosis on how things will evolve?
Well, this is perhaps a silly question, but I still HATE rattle ;-)
seems to be a problem related to the design. So if it s just disturbing and not interrupt with your work computer, you must accept it. I hate the fans on my laptop too, they are sometimes too strong for my review.
But the problem is, everyone has it s own subjective sense of things, and it doesn't have to be a defect of the thing we use.
Maybe you can do the following to give your mind some peace: go to the store where purchased you´ve and try another model. Tell the salesperson you want to check something, then maybe something could be wrong with your machine. If another machine has the same "rattle" then personally 'lost' you´ve and you have the possibility to buy a keyboard and external mouse (or at least an external mouse) or get the machine and buy another model that does not "rattle". If no "rattle" appears on another machine, then you have the guarantee that you can use! :)
I have a problem with my left button touchpad keys. Although the affected software the left click function, he always does the same action as the right button.
Drivers and installation of Windows are new. Is this a hardware or a software problem?
> Is that the hardware or a software problem
It's not easy to say, but have you checked the touchpad features using the OS preinstalled Toshiba?
Usually, the touchpad should work without problems using the original image of Toshiba.
May I ask what model of laptop and what OS do you have?
