Touchpad causing excessive use of CPU on Vostro 3558 (Windows 10)

Hello.

I am therefore unable to use Windows 10 because using the touchpad causes the process "System and compressed memory" to use more than 30% of CPU.

I made a GIF showing what I mean:

As soon as I start to scroll and move the pointer this process ("Sistema y memoria compartida" in Spanish, but it's the same, ntoskrnl.exe) raises my CPU usage, as you can see.

I tried a lot of things, but I always have to go back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.

-J' uses latest Touchpad drivers from the site Web of Vostro 3558.

-J' tried 19.0.9.4 old synaptic drivers for Vostro 3558 by www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails

-J' lastest synaptics.com generic drivers, tried both SMBus and IC2 versions, but they do not work at all (I even manually installed them in Device Manager).

-This has happened the upgrade of Windows 8 to 10 of Windows and installs also in fresh Win10.

Without drivers from dell (using default microsoft HID Driver and synaptics.com), I get no problems of use of CPU, but none of the gestures of course.

I ask for help because I don't want to stay in Win7/Win8, and it drives me crazy.

I fixed it messing with Vostro 3559 touchpad driver and driver Lenovo Yoga 3 1370.

IN FACT, WINDOWS 8.1 HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, I HAVE NOT TRIED WINDOWS 10.

THE STEPS I DID TO FIX IN WINDOWS 8.1;

1. install the VOSTRO 3559 Windows 7 touchpad drivers:

2. open Device Manager, open the section "Mice and other pointing devices" and right click on "Dell Touchpad" (it should be named only after having installed the drivers Vostro 3559). Select "Update driver software".

3. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer"

4. uncheck the "Show compatible hardware", go to "Synaptics" and select "Touchpad"

5. now if you check your device manager there is NO HIGH CPU USE, BUT TOUCHPAD IS LAG like *, as on some XPS models.

Now, why I did everything above? Because I can not install directly Lenovo Touchpad drivers without installing the first software of Vostro 3559. Synaptics software simply does not therefore not gestures.

6. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE WINDOWS 8.1 LENOVO YOGA TOUCHPAD DRIVERS 3

Direct link:

7. OPEN the DEVICE MANAGER AGAIN AND THE SAME THING, BUT THIS TIME WE will USE "LENOVO POINTING DEVICE" rather than "TOUCHPAD" OR "DELL TOUCHPAD"

8. YOU're not in MEASUREMENT OF CLICK NOW AS a RESULT OF SWITCHING THE DRIVER, so YOU WILL NEED AN EXTERNAL MOUSE, OPEN TASK MANAGER AND CLOSE ALL SYNAPTICS and PROCESS RELATED of TOUCHPAD.

9. GO TO C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP AND OPEN SYNTPENH. EXE

10. HERE, YOU HAVE A JOB ENTIRELY TOUCHPAD WITHOUT MAKING YOUR CRAZY CPU

You don't need to do anything at the next start of Windows, it is already fixed.

My HP dv9000 is slow.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT INFO YOU NEED ME!  In the Task Manager, under the terms of 'process', it indicates that there are FOUR INSTANCES of internet explorer running, but I only have one window open (with a tab).  I hear my hard drive constantly running and it drives me crazy (and make me cry for my poor computer).  The 4 iexplore.exe (IE8) use respectively 110 000 - 82 300-78 000 - and 8000 K.  Is this normal?

  • Svchost.exe - k netsvcs process uses 50% CPU at startup of Windows 7 PC

    Hello

Can someone advise? I have a 32 bit Windows 7 laptop and when it is on, svchost.exe - k netsvcs will run and make use of 50% or more of the CPU and finally up to several hours.

It is a very annoying problem where even if I complete the process using the Task Manager, it reappears shortly after. A reboot also sees a resumption of the process.

I traced this problem to the (wuauserv) Windows Update I had to turn off to avoid the recurring problem. But as this is not an optimal solution, I'd quite like to know how to solve this problem permanently.

    Thank you

    Martin O'Shea.

I was just wondering if raising the Task Manager causes a spike in CPU percentage used? What is the normal percentage?

    Original title: percentage of CPU

    ASJ

I guess it depends what you mean by 'raising '.  If the Task Manager is running minimized and you maximize there should be virtually no effect.  If you ask any Manager launch tasks can be a brief rally in cpu, memory, and HD activity, but he should be back almost immediately where he was, the slight increase depends on your specifications of the system and other factors.

Is there a reason you ask?

  • MacBook Pro random high utilization of the processor (iCoreService/DCAManager using + 400% CPU?)

    Hello

I'm running an Early 2011 Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 with a 2.2 GHZ Quad Core i7 processor 1 TB Samsung 840 EVO SSD and 16 GB of RAM Crucial. I noticed for about a month, I'm going to do a simple task or two on my Mac, then all of a sudden I noticed spikes CPU temporary, 90 + degrees C and the kick of fans trying to cool high speed. Well, I don't know why this is happening when I do nothing to justify a high utilization of the processor. I'm used to the CPU running hot when I do something intensive graphic as running Autodesk Inventor CAD software, run a machine virtual or even watch a 1080 p @ 60 fps video on youtube (it is the lowest resolution that requires the Mac switch to the dedicated AMD Radeon 6750 M GPU that usually eventually warm it quickly) , but this use high random that happens when I have Mail open in the background, and one tab open with a 720 p @ 30 fps video Youtube open (or even less). I took a few screenshots of the activity Manager indicating the best processes and Intel Power Gadget indicating the temperature of the CPU:

Does anyone know what are iCoreService and/or DCAManager and why they use so much of my CPU when this happens? And someone has encountered this weird behavior before? Thanks in advance!

The most likely cause is an applicztion you have running that is corrupt and forcing them to use the CPU too. Were you able to kill the process in activity monitor? If you have not yet tried to do, so I'll try that first. I would also try to quit all open applications.

If you start the computer in Safe Mode , you can test if the problem is still there. If it isn't, usually means something that is managed by you start-up or an application that you use may be the cause.

Has anyone here ever played a platform game style great Metroidvania for Windows called "La Mulana"? It is a freeware game and one of my personal favorites. The only problem is that I can really play on Windows 7. It was really slow and that Google has no increase of any evidence of someone else having the same problem. So I opened the Task Manager and he used between 87 and 95% of my CPU. The system of the Mulana requirements are very weak (166 Mhz and X 7 live) so I really wouldn't have a problem here. Play the game or anyone have a hypothesis as to what could cause such a weird situation? I run Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium on a laptop Acer of CULV with a Pentium clocked at 1.3 Ghz and GMA 4500 Intel graphics card.

    Hello

The game you play is an old game and might not be compatible with the 64 bit version of Windows 7. There is no information about compatibility with Windows 7, in the Compatibility Center

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx?type=software

    Method 1:

As a work around you can try to install the game in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

Follow the link for more information.

Make older programs in this version of Windows

    Method 2:

Also try to reduce the resolution of the screen and then try to install the game and check what is happening. To change the screen resolution follow the link below.

  • excessive use of svchost.exe memory

Operating system Windows XP Home Edition SP3

RAM 1 GB (just upgrade to 512 MB)

Atitvirus Zone Alarm Firewall/antivirus Suite Secruity

    Internet - IE8 browser

A classic computer session the process svchost.exe (System user), seen in the Windows Task Manager, will constantly increase its memory consumption until my computer slows to a crawl.  I've increased the RAM from 1 GB to compensate and now amseeing a much bigger memory usage by the process - up to 250 MB!  I tried to end the task and restart the bulk of the process svchost manages but have been unable to isolate the subtask that causes excessive memory consumption.  This has the advantage of reducing the consumption of RAM temporarily, but in half an hour or so consumption of memory is way up again.

I repeatedly ran some virus scans by Zone Alarm (currently being updated), Malwarebytes "Anti-malware", "Search and Destroy" Spybot and SuperAntiSpyWare 4.9 nothing done.  I have IE8 configured to avoid pop ups and have blocked most of the cookies.

What can I do to manage the svchost process to stop the runaway memory usage?

    Chaos_Edit,

Of course, you were correct.  I downloaded the latest version of MS MSRT last Thursday (v 3.9.3901.0) and he discovered the Alureon virus.  He "partially" deleted and recommended I run a full scan using anti-virus software.  I ran my Checkpoint/Zone Alarm antivirus-Super-scan and it finally detected and quaranteed the virus.  Since then, my svchost.exe program slept about 25 MB memory usage.

What intrigues me (or mind depending on my mood) is that this evidentlly virus exists since 2006 and still my anti-virus for Checkpoint/Zone Alarm, Malwaretytes Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware all failed to find it.  I ran great/deep scans using the latest versions of each of these software products every night for the last month.  My ZA product is set to check and download updates every evening before the scan in depth.

In addition, I started to download HitmanPro to discover that he wanted to maintain a direct link to my computer.  Probably not in my interest.

  • Vista Enterprise using 100% CPU countiniously

I use Vista business on dell Inspiron 6400 (had vista with laptop). The laptop has dual core processor and a CPU is used 100% without interruption since install. I have installed all updates using windows update utility. I have also disabled the indexing service and also to adjust Visual effects for best performance. The problem still exists.

In the Task Manager, I see a peremptory touch 100% CPU graph and another pretty normal CPU graph. I have 2 GB of ram and still 1,3 GB free. I have not yet installed any software. In the list of process System Idle Process takes, 90 + CPU usage no other program uses much CPU.

For this reason, my laptop is very slow to respond and almost useless, please help me.

I think that I found the correct culprit this time. I tried to disable the edge of BIOS devices implemented and it worked. When narrowed "Media Card and 1394" device was causing too much hardware interrupts. My PC works fine and no CPU usage after you turn off the device. I think that the fault was in Media card on board the aircraft.

It took me a long way to reach this solution, so to help others here you are a few steps to take to limit the problem.
-Task Manager open to see if any software uses the CPU more than expected. If you notice any software then its easy to uninstall or disable the program at startup etc.
-If Task Manager processors are normal and yet one or more CPU is used close to 100% and then download and run http://live.sysinternals.com/procexp.exe ProcessXP and run
-If material interruptions take up too much cpu, then try to disable/remove your attached devices, like modems usb, wireless lan, lan card BIOS Setup etc.

    Hope this will help.

  • Firefox crashes (even in safe mode) constantly and use 50% CPU while doing

I use Firefox 36.0.1 and Windows XP (32-bit version).

Lately, Firefox made this weird thing where it stops randomly load anything, as if the connection has been broken (it isn't, any other works very well). In this case, Firefox uses 50% CPU, when it is usually revolves around, well, 0%. Restart the browser, or waiting for a few minutes "fixed" the problem temporarily. Same thing in safe mode, too.

I have the feeling that this * might * be related to Flash, since it seems to happen more often when I am watching videos, or stream on the shaking. I tried to disable the plugin-container and update the Adobe Flash Player plugin, with little success. Malwarebytes could not find anything either, and it does not feel like a virus anyway.

Whatever it is, I'm out of options at this point. I had a lot of problems with Firefox for a while now, especially when it comes to videos/animations (I can't play the videos of Vine.co , for example), and it starts to make it difficult for me. I really don't want to switch to Chrome, I don't trust of Google and their browser doesn't have a lot of key functions I like in Firefox (such as the sidebar bookmarks < 3), so I really hope I can get help here.

    Any suggestions?

Chrome is a pain, I tried to go back and difficulty of Firefox (so far), and again, I think I found the problem. I should mention that I tried these 5 suggestions before, btw, and none of them got rid of the problem. Yes, even in safe mode, with a profile is empty, no plugins, no firewall and without tab, it happens again, somehow. And Yes, Chrome will work fine with Firefox running in the background, as I mentioned in my previous post.

What he did for me was turn off Prefetching and IPv6 times in all: config, following the instructions on this this page .

I'm not sure that one did the trick (I kinda afraid to mess with that again, but I could test if you want to, it might be useful to others), but it looks like everything is going well for the moment.

  • 35.0 Firefox uses 100% cpu on Mac Yosemite 10.10.1 then either breaks or needs force quit.

I had this problem since installing Yosemite and using 34.0.5. I upgraded yesterday to 35.0 but still the same problem. Firefox will work happily for a while and then all of a sudden will use 100% cpu. I disabled all extensions and plug-ins and that made no difference. If I use Java (8-25), it will usually make it crash but not always.

To make things worse, the accident report appears in Greek (which is considered in another question already).

Hi apdubois, it is useful to know that Flash is the problem but, as you point out, life without Flash is not very interactive.

It is a standard orientation that addresses the most common reasons for problems of Flash in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) make sure that all recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) disable graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here and restart:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

    (B) in Flash, see this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

    (3) turn off protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

Unfortunately, it is not possible to upgrade CPU on Toshiba laptops. The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and is used in the interest of miniaturization and heat dissipation.

If you want more information on this subject, you can contact the Service partner in your country.
