Touchpad driver/options: Inspiron 13, 7347, Signature Edition

I just took an Inspiron 13 Signature Edition from the Microsoft Store. Enough good material to date. It is the model with Core i5, 8 GB of RAM and screen 1080 p and was only CAD$ 699 + TX after a $100 rebate.

In the store, I noticed that I could not find all the options for changing the behaviour of touchpad in detail. Specifically, I would like to disable single tap to click (considering this touchpad can press click on I had rather not accidentally tap-tap). I would also if I could have the job of the gesture triple pressure is like a middle mouse button press.

The guy in the shop told me that editing without signing of this unit comes with driver touchpad of Dell and all I would have to do is get the driver from Dell. However when I entered the serial number in the Dell site, I have not found a driver for the Touchpad. I found one of Synaptics for his little brother Inspiron 11 and guessed maybe it's the same skate, but I couldn't get the driver works correctly.

Any thoughts, etc.?

I bought Dell Inspiron 13.3 "7000 series (7347) and have had similar problems with the touchpad. In short, it sucks. But, it is possible to reverse the direction scrolling touchpad and the very simple solution. Read more:

Most of the people who know a thing or two about computers would go to control panel > mouse to find the tab for the touchpad. I did as well. Several times. But the touchpad 7347 use Windows default drivers and not the Synaptic or the Alps. We must use Windows 8.1 device based known lesser settings to make changes to the touchpad. Follow these steps and you will be able to reverse the direction of scrolling:

1. go into the "charm of settings" in Windows 8.1 (put the mouse in the lower right, click on the gear icon)

2. click on "Change PC settings" down in the settings menu charm

3. to change PC settings, click the option menu "PC and devices."

4. Select the menu option ' mouse and touch pad. "

5. scroll down and find the option for 'Direction of scrolling backwards' and put it on 'On '.

6 here! You won't have to deal with the default non-natural direction of scrolling.

The touchpad will always be capricious. It doesn't seem to be more responsive after wiping all the drivers and perform a restart. In Device Manager, that includes the two devices listed under "Mice and other pointing devices" so that equipment "HID-compliant touch pad" listed under "Human Interface Devices". Uninstall all three devices (uninstall the latest touchpad or you will be uninstall the other using the touchscreen). Once that is done, do a reboot. Now, it might just be me, but the touchpad seems to be more bearable after doing this. I know at least one user has already done this with no real results. In any case, for me, the touchpad is at its worst when just started to the top of the laptop or after waking up from his sleep. I guess making it like most humans. I'm typing this now, it has been working very well. Only time will tell.

Hope the reverse scrolling sense helps.

I disabled the touch screen driver, and now his work very well without the touch screen; at the moment I have activate the driver, the problem returns.

  • Satellite L955 - 10K - Synaptics Touchpad Driver is not working properly

    Hello, ASRR here.

I had a problem with my driver for the Synaptics touchpad yesterday. I'm very used to use the "gestures" to work with my touchpad and the gestures did not work properly (in fact at all) for a while. Scrolling with two fingers, three fingers touch and others (in fact all the gestures) no longer work.

The cursor moves, and works fine but not gestures.

When I go to mouse option in the Control Panel, a window appears indicating that the PC is "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver." and asks me if I want to uninstall.

I have tried to uninstall, and then go on to Toshiba support page and download a driver that has been adapted for my model, operating system, etc..

When I implemented the driver I downloaded and restart the PC, the same window appears when I try to go in mouse options in Control Panel and gestures don't work.

An interesting thing I noticed though, is the fact that when I back the driver (in the settings to properties then Hardware) gestures do FINE. However, as he always asks you to restart the computer for Rolling back the driver will take place, when I restart it, it defines the Microsoft 2006 touchpad driver. who does not understand the gestures that I need.

I tried several times to fix it, but I can't. I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.

I really don't know what to do. Could someone please help?

My Toshiba model is a Satellite L-955-10 K with a 64-bit processor and system of operating Windows 8 initially installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    > I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.
How to understand this? Have you tried to put your laptop to factory settings?
To be honest I don't understand what the problem is here. I also thought that the new driver installation can help but obviously it didn't help much.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but you can set laptop to factory again and I hope that everything will work properly again. Before doing this test also to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore option.

One last thing: it has nothing to do with your touchpad problem, but I recommend you create a recovery (recovery backup image) using pre-installed recovery media creator media.

    Hi @SushmitMazumdar ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p097tx and the problems with the driver for the Synaptics TouchPad. If you uninstall the driver and restart the laptop, it will install automatically the best driver.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.

    I hope this helps.

  • Signature Edition in Australia return policy

    Hello

I'm indenting to buy a signature edition XPS 13 9350 since the Microsoft Store in Australia. However, I'm not sure if if your stores adopt a system similar to apple Exchange, in which devices can be exchanged on the counter in their shop because of problems with the equipment under warranty. It comes about because I have seen many comments, stating that the XPS 13 has intermittent screen flashing issues and touchpad.

Or is guaranteed to the signature edition devices made by the manufacturer, then Dell for this case?

  • 7558 the touchpad driver/app

    I have an old Inspiron of 2 weeks 2-in-1 15 7558 i5 8G 500GHD. Windows 8.1 running of the factory.

The problem is that I can't control the touchpad. The biggest problem is the tap to click. The whole buffer including buttons move the mouse and reacts to the tap to click. It's very frustrating, because when I press the button all sorts of crazy mouse click on register or when I try to click on a button, the mouse cursor moves because the button is part of the touch pad.

All I want to do is disable tap-to-click. When I open Control Panel/mouse there is no touchpad tab nor the controls for the touchpad. In Device Manager, the Mouse/touchpad driver appears as a driver MS Mouse 2008 that seems very wrong, especially now that it is so from the factory. I checked the site driver from Dell for one pilot different both by model number and serial number, no driver of the touchpad or app. I found synaptics, Alps, ealn and Cyprus drivers on the web, but none of them work.

Any fix for that? Looks like that tactile disabling click should be obvious.

    Thank you

    Don

    > BTW, your link is the 7568-oriented and I the 7558
    Oh, sorry...

I'm not a native speaker of the English language and then apologize when there is an error.

Methods that are introduced in this page (www.ryukent.com/.../fixed-install-synaptics-touchpad-driver-windows-8-1), I think it's probably the same way you did.

and, there is a description that I think is important.

My system does not display Synaptics tab in the Panel :(
    But
    Run program files \ Synaptics------SynTP------SynTPEnh.exe

in this case, I think that even if there is no tab for synaptics to control panel, the installation was successful.

Thus, if the information from the registry on synaptics is saved and customize it, I think it's possible to tap not valid click.

The registry of my laptop with a synaptics entry is in
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Synaptics

y at - it registers for registration on synaptics in your pc?

At the same time, either, but this is not a solution, is it possible to use this software?
    Forum.TabletPCReview.com/.../TwoFingerScroll-v1-0-7-Update-Two-Finger-scrolling-Done-Right-more.38405
I usually use one of the functions that are provided by this software, when you are touching with a finger, clicks when you tap on the other finger.

in this feature, I make it easier to click after the cursor of the mouse movement with trackpad.
This software is for synaptics trackpad, so I hope this helps app to use the trackpad on your portable computer.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - Touchpad driver for Windows 7 32 bit

    Hello

I'm looking for a touchpad for my P100 (PSPA4E) driver that works under Windows 7 32 bit. After changing from Windows XP to Windows 7, the tochpad is no longer in effect.

THX in advance for your help!

    Concerning

    Hello

Generally for touchpad no additional driver is necessary. The touchpad also works without a driver touchpad as the standard Windows driver will be used.
Driver Touchpad is more important for special functions as virtual scrolling, change the tapping settings, etc.

You can download all the drivers of Toshiba's official website:

  • HP 250 G3: I can't find the touchpad driver

    Hi all!

I recently bought a nice HP 250 G3 (code: J4R70EA). I am very sattisfied with my purchase (even if there is a dead pixel that now I've corrected). I also managed to install and find all the drivers (since it came with FreeDOS), except for the touchpad driver. The touchpad works but all useful actions are missing.

Can you please help to find the last updated driver for my touchpad so that I can use gestures effectively?

PS: I have a 32 bit Windows 7 OS. HP only provides 64-bit for my laptop drivers. I like to keep 32-bit.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for the reply!

I just think that 64-bit OS are a unacessary transition. For my average use (navigation, Office suite, etc.) and since I was only 4 GB of RAM, I wouldn't benefit by using a 64 bit OS.

64-bit OSs are not an operating system more safe and stable. Yes, I'm aware of backward compatibility, but why I want to install 64-bit software because they use more resources (both in terms of disk space and RAM) when all I need is available in 32-bit?

Perhaps you have more than 4 GB of RAM, and maybe you're using a program like Photoshop or Auto CAD. If this is the case I certainly recognize the need for a 64 bit OS. Otherwise, for the average user, 64-bit is just a hype, a marketing tool or a buzz.

These are just my 2 cents

PS: I tried these driver yesterday and it didn't really install anything. I tried earlier official HP drivers and magically everything works. Thus, they are not a driver 64 bit OS only after all

  • G780 keyboard does not work, but ONLY if the Elan Touchpad driver is installed.

I have a bad surprise today--unlike other manufacturers, which offers one year free tech support, Lenovo does not. $179 for a contract or $89 to cover an isolated incident. Thank you, guys. :-/

    Here's my problem.

G780, bought last October. Upgrade to Win7 Home Premium Win8 Pro.

A few days ago the integrated keyboard has stopped working. It works in the BIOS, but when you start in Windows, Windows does not recognize it.

There is a PS/2 keyboard driver and device keyboard HID that appear in Win8 Device Manager. I guess these are the drivers for the built-in keyboard. If I plug in a USB keyboard, it appears in the device as an additional device keyboard HID Manager.

By trial and error, I discovered that the keyboard still works fine when the Elan touchpad driver is not installed. The problem with THAT: I can not disable the touchpad unless the driver is installed, and if the touchpad is not disabled, it will screw me up because I accidentally brush my hand against the touchpad while typing.

I also noticed that sometimes the touchpad in the system tray icon with a WARNING icon overlaid on top of it (you know, the little yellow triangle with exclamation point). I can't understand why, and I can't understand what has changed on my computer that caused the keyboard to stop functioning properly.

I tried uninstalling the Elan touchpad driver, download the latest driver from support G780 web page and put it back. No luck.

I make do with a USB keyboard at the moment, but I really need this problem is resolved.

    Thanks in advance.

So I had uninstalled the drivers of momentum earlier... yesterday I tried to reinstall those supplied with the computer.

At least the keyboard worked now, but the drivers have not been properly disable the touchpad when I plugged the mouse.

Then I hit Fn - F6, not really thinking that he would do anything, but it fixed the problem.

I would have but the pilot would have overridden some setting I put with Fn - F6, but... maybe not.

    Problem solved.

    What is Lenovo?

    Nassera salvation,

    Thanks for posting!

Have you been able to check your touchpad settings before the upgrade if you have a touchpad Synaptics or momentum?

According to the support download site, G580 could have Synaptics or momentum

Elan touchpad, according to the support site doesn't have a driver yet for windows 8.1 and still works with the generic Windows 8.1 driver
