Touchpad: Lost the two-finger scrolling feature

Gordon,

Rats.  Well, there may well be another way to solve this problem!

You can try the Web of Synaptics site : get the latest driver from their site.  Back in case this all happens on the side, you have the driver from the website of your computer such as a fall.

Synaptics.com - drivers

There is a very similar position with the same problem - turns out the fix to install the Synaptics driver on their site (V15.2.20 announcement).

Here is that post - it might be useful:

Good luck!  Let me know how you fare.

I hope this helps!

    Hello

I just bought a Portege z830-10 q, and there are a few items that do not work.

FN + F2 to F12 shortcut keys don't really work, or any other nice combination of FN + SPACEBAR, etc., is not the button to disable the touchpad below the space bar.

Also, I can't get the function two finger scrolling works.
Interestingly, the FN + ESC and FN + F1 to work.

I saw something in a previous comment on flashcards, I checked that and tried to play with the settings, but they don't seem to work either.

Don't know if I need t download no additional driver.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    Hello

I assume you are using Win 7. Is this good?

In this case I recommend to uninstall the first added value package.
Then download the VAP driver Toshiba UE page and install the new.
You may need to reboot several times the system after removing the VAP.
Value added package contains a few essential tools that are in charge of mobile extra features like for example FN button feature.

By the way: the two fingers scrolling option must be checked in the control panel-> mouse-> last tab-> Advanced Settings button
You will find all the options of touchpad.

  • Satellite C50 - B - 14 d - two finger scroll does not work

I've had my laptop for about 6 months now and I am generally happy with it. However, the two fingers scrolling has stopped working (it was working fine when I got it and for some time after). I know that it is not essential, but it made such a difference to the work that I end up having to do, implying often copy and pasting etc, and really miss me!

I've read many threads saying that you should go in Control Panel, click the mouse and go to device settings. However when I get to this point, my box of mouse says just "buttons; pointers; pointer options; material"and there is no sign 'Device settings' along the top. What can I do? I also can't find the synaptics driver anywhere to uninstall, as others have suggested.

Can you please put name of full model of your laptop to check the Toshiba download page and try to find the right touchpad driver.

  • Smartphones blackBerry lost the ability to scroll

I lost the ability to scroll in some situations. I can scroll on by applications in the main screen and the button sound profile but not in sound profile options.  The alt key does not allow me to switch to punctuation, but gives me a capital instead.  I have inadvertently changed in some way?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I made a video for my next level support, and I will then open the case.

  • Firefox 8 on Windows 7 (64) Synaptics touchpad gesture with two fingers scrolling does not work. Works in any other program.

UI.trackpoint_hack. Enabled = 1 does not help. All the Plugins and drivers (Synaptics) up to date. Samsung 900x3a. Slider modifies the icon when running two finger gesture but not scroll. No PDF not loaded. No other open tab. When you load in the tab PDF PDF scrolls with the gesture. Same problem in Thunderbird 8. Reason to use Chrome as standard browser.

I solved this problem with this registry setting:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh]
    "UseScrollCursor" = DWORD: 00000000

You could do it faster with by downloading and running this file: ScollingFix.reg (watch out, click on the link just! there are ads)

  • How to disable the mouse pad scroll feature?

A crossed the features Control Panel and I am unable to turn off this feature

Most of the keys are now equipped with software designed to have the side right of the touch pad scroll top and bottom of the page and the left to zoom in and out of the page.
In most cases, if you click Start > Control Panel > mouse, there should be a tab of brand such as Dell Touchpad. In addition, you can find a touchpad icon in the taskbar (next to the clock in the lower right corner of the screen). Right click and open this icon should help you in the right direction.
The process to change these settings varies depending on the laptop and may require a phone call to the manufacturer for assistance.
    I hope this helps!

  • Two-finger scroll is no longer work

Updated for Sierra yesterday. Two fingers scrolling is no longer works. Called AppleCare. They suggested that I re - install. That didn't fix it. (Already zapped the P - RAM... and did another reboot with some keys used.)

The next option that was recommended was to delete my preferences file. Who's going to lose ALL my connections and other preferences so I'm not ready to do it again.

Have not seen other examples of what is happening (except here which mentions three fingers slide...)

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Solved. Unchecking and then scrolling control in the accessibility preferences window (mouse and Trackpad, Trackpad options) did it. Yay.

The previous driver allowed to edge scrolling, but the latest version doesn't have the capability. I understand for those upgrading to Windows 8 with affect capacity screen isn't a problem, but what of us who do not have touch screen. In my opinion, this is a major flaw. Try this:

    (1) go to c:\program files\DellTPad\

    (2) in this directory I

    (a) DellTouchpad.exe: this is the called application of the control panel which you published the photo.

    (b) utility DellTPad.exe other setting touchpad. At the launch of this I have this option (English translation) 'a finger actions/multi-doigts of shares', and then it allows you to establish one finger vertical/horizontal scrolling.

Did I miss something? Hold scroll a window or a list using trackpad and not the scroll bar lift - but it does not work as advertised.

  • Changing two-finger scrolling to scroll one finger

Help!  I bought a HP Pavilion dv7t - 6 00 CTO a few months ago.  I was totally disappointed when I discovered that I had to do this scroll two fingers for up/down and left/right movement of the cursor.  But then, after a few weeks, I found out how to change it to a scroll one finger on the right side for up/down scrolling and scrolling with a finger along the lower part of the scroll left/right key.  Well, something happened and my laptop is back to the method of two fingers, AND I IMPOSSIBLE for the life of remember me how I made this change to a finger to scroll.  Someone out there must know where the parameter is or how to go about this... I hope!

    Thank you!

  • Titled as a mouse, touchpad cannot use two fingers to scroll.

Okay, so when I go into my control panel I can only see the parameters for a mouse and not a touchpad. I don't have a plug in the mouse for my laptop. For this reason I can't access all the parameters that would allow me to enable two finger scrolling. I use to be able to do it, but I got a new hard drive installed and now it won't let me. How can I get my computer to recognize my touchpad as a touchpad and enable two finger scrolling.

Visit the Web site for a company built your computer.  Find the drivers/downloads section and find your computer model.  Here, you can download the driver for the touchpad for her, and she will start work as a touchpad.

The reason why he is stopped after the new hard drive is simply because this driver touchpad bit has not been downloaded from the site again. After you get it, it will be good to go.

  • Anyone else annoyed by the direction of scrolling for touchpad in windows 8?

don't know who to point the finger (lenovo, synaptics or Microsoft), but I'm not a fan of scroll upward on the touch pad to go down the page. And I like to go between my work computer (win7) and my computer at home (win8) I always go in the wrong direction.  I think that this should be configurable by the user.  If enough people how / view on this maybe we can get a listening ear.  Thoughts?

I didn't mind it; I just thought of it as pushing the page up.  However, there is a way to change this.  Go to the bar of charms and find the Trackpad.  Go search settings, and then click settings.  Go to the two-finger scroll box, and then click the gear that appears at the end of the line.  A box will pop-up; Uncheck the box Enable Reverse scroll, hit the window and OK on the other window.  This changes the direction of travel.  If you have any questions, go ahead and ask. I will subscribe to it, so I can get back within 24 hours.

  • Lost the scrolling feature two finger after update 8.1

I had been turned off for this update for a long time because I knew something would happen. I've been reviewing the forums here trying to figure out how to fix it, but nothing worked.

On my computer (a computer hp laptop 2000, no touchscreen or whatever it is), two-finger scrolling is already activated. I checked the driver and it says I have the latest. I even found a way to get my finger two rear right click (which works fine now), but still no luck with two fingers for scrolling which I had really learned to love on my hp.

I really want this function to return. Any help would be appreciated!
