TouchSmart 520-1155: Wifi adapter has disappeared from the Device Manager

I can't use internet via wifi.  There is no wifi adapter in Device Manager and no driver missing / error found.  Only the network card is available now.   I've updated network adapter but did not help.

Can you please help me on this issue?  What should I do?

Thank you in advance.

RTEOttawa, welcome to the forum.

I suggest to delete and reinstall the wireless card.  It can only solve your problem.  Sometimes a small problem has occurred which can be fixed by this solution simply.  If this does not work, you may need to buy a new card or other wireless adapter.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

This brings us to not be able to reactivate bit-locker.

We had this happen with several machines who did and does not have dealt with windows updates.

Same thing with Dell drivers and BIOS treated and untreated.

I ran tool HWINFO and it lists the TPM with a memory address something like 0000FED4000 but I can't find that in the Device Manager or msinfo32.

    I reloaded the BIOS firmware.

If recreate us the image on laptops the TPM appears in the Manager of devices as planned so I don't think this as a problem with the motherboard.

Curiously, although we had some motherboards replaced and the TPM is displayed.

I feel that replacing the motherboard is the solution to this question we can restore the functionality with a new image or reload the operating system from scratch. But that does not satisfy the risk of the issue and already its appearance again.

DVD drive icon disappeared from the Device Manager and my computer. I m using window 7. How can I get it back.

    Ashwani Hello,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community.

There are various reasons why a CD or DVD drive may not be detected. I would like to ask all of the steps in the Microsoft Article describes a troubleshooting and check if they help to resolve the issue.

Your CD-ROM or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs

    Note:

Before editing a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy of the key or the subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location that you specify, for example, a folder on your hard drive or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to cancel, you can import the backup copy. For more information about backing up the registry, please see the link below.

  • Bluetooth has disappeared from the Device Manager

My computer does not detect bluetooth devices. I went to the bluetooth menu and unchecked and rechecked the boxes 'discovery' and so on. However, when I hit apply, the window became unresponsive and I forced to close. When I tried to repeat this, when you type apply I get a Bluetooth Service error message saying my device is disconnected (my bluetooth adapter is built-in). I went to the Device Manager and disabled the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and generic adapter Microsoft to try to restart them. However, instead of just disabling, the owner made them disappear from the list (even show hidden devices will not bring them back). Now I have no bluetooth, the 'other' device any device and can not use bluetooth. I tried everything I can think and find on the net (reboot), update, etc.. Help, please!

  • Wireless adapter suddenly lost, disappeared from the Device Manager. How to prevent this?

    Hey :)

Ive looked all over the internet, but still nothing quite similar to this...
    -Asus PC V551LB-CJ093H
    -Windows 8
-Wireless network adapter: Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
The problem is: laptop suddenly loses wireless wireless adapter because suddenly friggin disappears from the Device Manager, as did not exist. Only the wired network adapter still works and all things Bluetooth. The only way to resurrect from the dead is to restart my laptop. But I don't like this solution X_x. How can I stop my laptop disconnect my wireless connection?
    What I've tried:
Auto-updated the driver from Device Manager
-' Find the hardware changes' on Device Manager
-Disable "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" the power of the device management
The only thing that has worked now:
    -Restart the laptop.
Thank you very much for your help :D

Thanks a lot :) I've manually updated the drivers from the manufacturer's website (intel), and the problem ceased to occur. I will you update if anything... Thanks again.

Hello I have a HP Envy 13 - x 2 j002dx and I'm having bluetooth associated with is questions is frustrating given the bluetooth keyboard. Every day my bluetooth driver disappears from the Device Manager and the bluetooth settings option does not appear again. Another thing to try... restoration/uninstall both drivers WiFi and bluetooth. Especially if you have just updated their. At some point, I updated the driver wifi intel on my asus laptop and the missing of Bluetooth. Took me several hours of research and to play with the drivers to understand a wifi update some how stuck on the bluetooth hardware.

After you disable the webcam integrated my laptop ASUS N80V, imaging devices disappeared from the Device Manager.  I use Windows Vista x 64.  How can I make it reappear if I can activate my webcam?

First try a system restore to a date that precedes you disabled the camera, it could allow the camera back.

Try reinstalling the camera driver. On my previous Asus link there is a click to download on that link. You must communicate your model number or click on 'Auto-Detection model '.

There is also a forum on the Asus Support link, you can try to ask your questions here.

You can also try the update of the BIOS available on the download link and then check if the unit is on.

  • Renesas USB3.0 Host Controller disappears from the Device Manager

I recently installed a USB3.0 PCI-E card in my computer (Renesas uPD720200 USB3). The problem I have is that the host controller keeps endangered since the Device Manager, and then I can't use the USB ports. I use Windows 7 64-bit. It disappears usually when I stopped for an evening and then start up the next day and he disappeared. If I just have it reboot normally disappears, but sometimes remains. If I leave the computer and let it go to sleep, when I wake up, the host controller has disappeared. I tried some troubleshooting steps are based on research on google and the answers to this question: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/renesas-usb-30-driver-continuous-uninstalls-from/ac6b1137-1778-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5?auth=1&page=2

If I uninstall all controllers USB host and reboot, the host controller reappears, but only temporarily. The next time I start up it went again and I have to repeat the process (uninstall all host controllers and restart).
Once or twice I could make it reappear after running the utility of hardware troubleshooting (Panel-> Troubleshooting-> Hardware and Sound-> configure a device), but it is not reliable and I'm usually better off just uninstall all host controllers and reboot. Regardless of if it works, the store always gives me the message "hardware changes may not have been detected", and when I look at the details it says "configured to never install drivers from Windows Update. " There is no question."
I've updated the driver. I downloaded the Version 2.1.28.1 of the Intel Download Center (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19880/eng/USB3.0_allOS_2.1.28.1_PV.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=19880). It seemed to install fine, but Device Manager shows the driver version is 2.1.28.0. Repeat the installation produces the same result.
I updated the Firmware (http://www.station-drivers.com/page/renesas.htm) and that seems to work very well, but didn't had no bearing on my problem.
I would be really grateful for any help or suggestion.

  • Satelltie M40X: NIC disappears from the Device Manager

I have a Satellite M40X with Windows XP SP2 and my card (Realtek gigabit) network is no longer seen by Windows (or Linux: test performed with a Ubuntu live CD).

The lan card is not seen by Toshiba HW Setup. I disappeared 2 days ago, was back yesterday that a d is not present today...
LAN card is enabled in the BIOS.

Can someone help me solve this problem?

The PC is 13 months (out of warranty Toshiba...)

Some registry keys are damaged and so the LAN card is not visible in the Device Manager (very possible) or the LAN card is damage (more)

I think you should try to reinstall the operating system. If after installing new network card is not visible in device (such as unknown device or network card) Manager then it s a bad material work and in my opinion, that the replacement or repair will help.

    Hello

Did you use Wireless LAN in the past?
I ask because the wireless LAN optional on this unit and you must upgrade first the unit with the minPCI wireless LAN card to work with WLan.
    Have you installed the card?
This info is very important because I don t know whether or not there is a Wlan card.

  • Multicard reader W540 disappeared from the Device Manager

I just got a brand-new W540, used the DVD that accompanies him to the level of W7 to W8 and then updated to W8.1. It works fine, but my integrated memory card reader doesn't seem to work. I tried to download the driver of multicard reader O2Micro W8.1 compatible web-support Lenovo, and he asked me if I wanted to repair or uninstall; to which I replied "fix." The process is finished, I rebooted upon request, but still the card reader does not. Or I see in Device Manager, and I did not all devices of unknown type or problems and manually install the driver (as existing device, using 'Have disk' etc) did not help.

Searching on the Lenovo support web, I also found a Realtek driver multicard supposed to be done for the W540, but this does not work either. Both packs driver install without a hitch and lies in programs & applications after installation, but the rest useless memory card reader. I went straight for an OS update when I got the computer, I have no idea if the card reader used to work in Win 7 or vanilla 8 win, but I * think * I spotted under 'Storage controllers' before you try to install these packs pilot (but that could have been on another computer).

    Any ideas?

As a last desperate resort, I ran an update BIOS and for some absurd reason the SD card reader on my works now W540.

In fact, what causes a lot of wear on a battery empties it too low on several occasions. With today
systems overload are not a problem.

Here are some tips to help and troubleshoot battery issues.

Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this, if your battery is fine slots - just clean up the edges of the knife which fit in)
them and be careful). Batteries are old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the machine system, and many of them have on line forums.

New Lithium-Ion type battery usually last longer if you do not unload then less than 30%
However on a laptop that not extend their life a lot. Best is to use the a/c adapter
    When this is possible.
