Transfer 680 Treo Pro or Treo 650 categories

I recently bought the new Treo Pro.
I currently have Treo 650 and 680 and I tried to finish the categories of contacts by Bluetooth & IR, both failed.
No idea how to do it correctly?

Hello..

sending data via infrared or Bluetooth to a Palm OS phone for a WinMo phone is not possible
they deal with different types of files during transfer

You must synchronize first phone treo 650 and 680 for microsoft outlook and Outlook to your TreoPro
WinMo phones will sync with outlook

  • Switch from Treo 650, Treo Pro

I synchronize my old Treo 650 on 2 computers (xp & Vista) using HotSync. I would like to switch to Outlook with my new Treo Pro. How can I get all my 650 data HotSync for Outlook (and 650 for the Pro)? I don't want to lose all data.

The general process is that you reconfigure HotSync to synchronize your 650 with Outlook rather than Palm Desktop. Once Outlook has all your data, you install ActiveSync and synchronize your Treo Pro with Outlook to complete the data transfer process.

Details can be found from here:http://www.palm.com/us/support/outlooksupport.html

And you can also get support in the Windows HotSync here forum: http://forums.palm.com/palm/board?board.id=windows_hotsync

  • Data transfer to a XP Treo 600 to a Vista Treo 650

Hi guys! Been scoured the forums for a few days now and have not found a solution to my problem. Many who come close... but not response complete. I used a Treo 600 years and loved it. My portable old and faithful finally gave up the ghost and I'm now done with a VIsta (32 bit) machine. Heres the prob... Vista will not recognize the Treo 600... I got a deal on a used Treo 650 (which recognises the Vista and Palm has the software for), BUT because Vista does not recognize the 600, I can not transfer my PIM data on the new office to get on the new phone.  Am I stuck with having to type the value of years of contacts and calendar information in the new office, someone out there has an idea for a solution? Thanks for your help!

Hello Handskake and welcome on Palm forums.

What version of Palm Desktop you have installed on your Vista PC?  You should be able to install Palm Desktop 4.1.4e under Vista, synchronize the Treo 600 to Palm Desktop and then upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.x if you wish.

  • Treo 650, not sync contacts with Outlook 2007 Vista machine

Hi, I have a Treo 650 with happiness synchronization with my old XP Pro machine. When the computer crashed, I bought a Vista Home Premium 32-bit with Outlook 2007 on it. I installed Outlook 2007 duct after installing Palm Desktop 6.2. I'm not configured as an administrator for the security account. When I sync it no errors appear and sync is successful and all my photos on the phone and sd card and all prc files are backed up. But there is no contact in Outlook copied from my old phone. Outlook 2007, basically intercepts not anything from the phone. Even the Palm desktop does not save the phone numbers and addresses there synchronize photos from my phone. So, how can I get all my phone numbers and e-mail addresses in Outlook. Thanks for your ideas.

    Several things:

    1. the version of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 has integrated Outlook 2007 lines.  DO NOT install the update for Outlook 2007!   I've seen several threads lately where users have installed the update and things scrambled.

2 palm Desktop to install properly if you have Admin rights!    It has always been recommended to grant temporary administrator rights when installing, perform a HotSync, then remove the rights.  I find it strange that you managed to get anything to transfer!

3 did you say Palm Desktop to synchronize with Outlook?   Look here: Palm/programs/PIM Start Button / All Conduit Sync / syncing with Outlook.

If #3 doesn't help, I everything again with a "clean uninstall" and start over.

  • Satellite 300U-11V with Palm Treo 650 HotSync

    Hello

I recently bought am and portable 300U unable to hotsync over Bluetooth with my Treo 650.
I can transfer files between them with Bluetooth but I can't get them to Hotsync otherwise than by serial USB cable.
I checked the 'How To' Toshiba which were for generic Tosh PC and PDA Palm T3 especially regarding the com port and transfer speed 7 but without result.

When the hotsync/communication process starts the phone tells me to add my phone to the list of secure... devices then to check my settings!

    Thanks in advance.

    > When the hotsync/communication process starts the phone tells me to add my phone to the list of secure... devices then to check my settings!

Seems that there is some security restrictions. The Treo 650 is not known to me, but I recommend to check the ActivSync security options and add the Palm Treo 6 the list of secure devices.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Palm Treo 650 storm

You try to transfer calendar/contacts from Palm Treo 650 using Palm Desktop 4.1.4 for my BB Storm. It blocks every time. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I had a Treo 700wx.  I used Microsoft Outlook to synchronize my treo.  So I just hooked to the storm and said Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook.  All my contacts, calendar, tasks and memos were transferred easily.

  • I need assistance with my Palm Treo 650!

I recently bought a Palm Treo 650, which is Cingular.

I have TMOBILE, and I read that some people online who have made it possible to make this phone works with the tmobile network.  I looked at a lot of places, and I don't think that its as simple as just get an unlock code.

Could someone help me? I really want this phone! Thank you!

In general, to use a Cingular phone on a different network, you should get an unlock code from AT & T. If AT & T won't cooperate, certain third parties claim to know the algorithm to calculate the unlock code and it will sell to you. Buy at your own risk. Please note that most phone only allow a small number of unlock attempts before they turn off unlocking, you can be as few as 1 or 0 tent left on your 650.

Once the phone is unlocked, if you insert a T-Mobile SIM card, it should work. I used a 650 Cingular unlocked with a SIM from T-Mobile to the United States, as a test, then used with a French SIM card when I was in Europe. No problem.

(Read the unlock code has been the biggest challenge. Fortunately, the phone was a hand of a current AT & T customer, so they are cooperative, even though they we confuse first giving us code for 680 my friend...)

  • Update to the Treo 650 for palm Pre (both unlocked)

I'm upgrading from my Palm Treo 650 Palm Pre. Years of good use of my Treo and want to know to transfer my data on. Will be the new interface to revisit the existing files for the Treo?

I have a lot of data stored on my sd card how to transfer it?

Hello good and welcome on Palm forums.

Take a look at this page on the Palm website.  It gives you directions to move data from your Treo to your pre.

With respect to the data on your SD card, the Pre and Pixi use SD cards.  Palm has included the storage space on the device.  To move your data, use an SD card reader to make the card appear as a hard drive on your Mac or PC.  Then, once you have your Pre or Pixi, connect it to your computer in USB drive mode and copy the documents that you want to move to your new phone from the SD card to the storage space on the pre or Pixi.

Palm based, isn't? If so, then check the HOWTO of the Toshiba Bluetooth site section:

It lists a HowTo called "HotSync over Bluetooth (TOSHIBA PC - Palm-PDA).

    What version of Palm Desktop?

Have you checked to see if the info is in Palm Desktop and not Outlook?

You can raise the 'soft' switch to change the direction to Outlook? :

Start button / all programs/Palm/PIM led Sync / syncing with Outlook.

Now try another HotSync and see if the data meet in Outlook.

  • Card not detected for Treo 650?

I have a 4 GB SD memory card that I bought for my Nikon Coolpix just now. When I got my Treo 650, I thought that I could use for that as well.

Even if it fits directly into the slot, the device does not detect or recognize the SD card. It is compabible and can I do?

Is the variety of SD HC card?  It will not work...

Your Treo can only use regular SD cards.

  • Updated the Treo 650, Palm Centro, unable to synchronize all the data of the device

Hello, I bought a new palm centro once my treo 650 took a bath.  I was able to load all my previous data on the new device with no problems, but I've been unable to hotsync since.  If I do a hard reset I can load it all on the property.  The only third party application that I use is datebook5.  I bought the program dbfixit and repaired all the blobs on my calendar entries, but I am still unable to sync anything (even memos, todos, address book, make a pocket computer > computer replacement).  I also deleted my palm desktop user name that I use a new fresh user profile and I still get the same error messages.  I also ran the palmhotsyncsetup.exe of Pimlico software.

Here is the error message I get:

    Hi jacobkaucher,

Welcome to the Palm Forums. A quick question for you. Do you use wireless sync to get your email on the phone?

If you are, then this is your problem. If not, skip the rest of this post. Wireless Sync disables the Palm Desktop software. If you want to get your e-mail and synchronization, I advise to use VersaMail instead. If you really want to use Wireless Sync and still cradle sync, here are steps on how to re-enable the lines: http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=37678. This will allow you to start the synchronization again, but beware, you might start to get copies of your data.

  • Is it really possible to move from a Treo 650 to a Treo 750?

I'm not a very happy customer right now, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I upgraded from my old Palm Tungsten to a Zire and then to a Cingular Treo 650, combining three devices in one. I have since discovered that the Treo 650 seems to have a defective transmission mode, as I rarely can be clearly understood by whom it is I give the floor. Am at the second (or third, I've lost track) and continue to have the same problem. I get five bars of reception, but cannot be understood at the other end. A little problem when trying to call 911. I am constantly told I'm "breaking." The repair shop said that it "cannot reproduce the problem. OK, so I don't want to give up all the info I stored in the crazy thing, and the 750 seems to have a different system, so I thought I would try it. All the stuff I could find seem to indicate that it would not be a problem to upgrade. When the 750 arrived, I tried to install the software from the CD on my Windows XP computer. No dice. The Setup program encounters an error and closes. Can not even look at the files, because the Installer tries to run at any time access to the Conference on disarmament. Of any player.  Given my girlfiend to check on his computer, and the CD seems to work very well. Other CD works fine on my computer. Must be some sort of conflict, but what? Tried calling AT & T number that suggested that they could help with the installation and was first connected to the business center, they me routed to the center of the laptop, which I routed to the center of the network, who said that they would have to bring in the Palm customer service and connected me to a Mac guy who poured me a menu that took me to someone for whom English is a second language with which I tried to communicate via a very poor satellite connection. They didn't make any sense anyway. by saying first that I couldn't have two desktops running (badly, that my girlfriend has my old Zire and the CD worked fine) and then insisting on the fact that the serial number of my camera had start with a P, when clearly there is no any alpha characters in there. Without this way of help. Managed to get the new ActiveSync installed from my friends on the network computer. Large. Now let's get my 650 sync with Outlook (which I've not used at home) and see if we can move. Nope. First of all, I have to update Outlook 2000, the old Win98 to my current XP. Find the old CD and puts away. OK, now synchronize with Outlook. Nope. The synchronization program gives an error, saying: it will only be able to be synchronized with Outlook 98, 2000 and XP (2002). Good grief. I have Outlook 2000, and the software does apparently not. If the Palm does not work, there is no reason for me to keep this phone and I'm very close to return and abandoning the Palm completely when I switch to something that works, even if I'm afraid to enter all this information.

Thanks for the comments. Today, I installed Office 2007 Enterprise version I bought earlier, but had not yet installed. Microsoft has presented some difficulties, but they have been quickly resolved. I then downloaded the proper conduct of Palm and synchronized the 650 with the handheld crushing the computer. Then used Destop Active to synchronize the 750. Convinced that I had moved as much information as possible, I called AT & T and move the phone number to the new Treo.

Bonus! When the guy at AT & T called me on the new phone to check it out, he said that it sounded better my phone fixed.

Sorry for continuous paragraph. When it is late, I tend to write like I think.

    Dave
