Transfer a file from one user account to another

I had to delete my user account of girls because of a security risk, I saved all of its files and docs on my desk and he created a new account, how can I now put these files on his account?

You must also move the data in other records - some hidden - more in the new user profile.  I hope you copied everything in the user profile when you have done this and help you not only the things that you want to save - information in these other cases is important for programs to work properly and its profile works correctly.  For doing this, you would have needed to put the system already to see hidden and system files (start / Control Panel / folder Options / View / check system files and hidden).  I'm not sure that you'll be able to do everything at this point - yet it could work if you actually copied all files and folders (by simply copying the old data to the new locaation).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have problems to access is denied, you should maybe take full control permissions or appropriating the profile to make the changes (as admin).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The correct way to proceed would be like if the original profile has been corrupted by using the following procedure: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

One option is to try a system restore to see if we can recover its original profile and start making sense (that works).  Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If this does not work, maybe we can still recover the deleted profile files (although it will be difficult without knowing the names of all the files involved - and there will be a lot of files that I guess):

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have Vista Business, Vista Ultimate or Vista Enterprise, you can be lucky.  They have so-called saves shadow copies, which are deleted or modified files that can be recovered in case changes/deletions made by mistake.  http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/features/shadow-copy.aspx more information about how to use this feature to: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/howdoi/?p=145.

If you have Vista Basic or Premium of Vista, shadow copies is not available; However, there is an alternative that is free and the shadow copies feature called Shadow Explorer. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/recover-files-with-shadow-copies-on-any-version-of-windows-vista/.  Although it will not help you this time, it could very well save you in case this happens again.

In case this does not work (not all files are available through shadow - it occurs periodically), here are some additional free recovery programs that might help:

http://www.SnapFiles.com/freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.html

http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/DiskDigger.html

http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/easusdfr.html

http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/restoration.html

http://www.SoftPerfect.com/products/FileRecovery/

http://techpaul.WordPress.com/2008/06/23/how-to-recover-your-lost-files/

The files are not really deleted until they are crushed (although they are no longer available through conventional methods).  If you decide to try these recovery programs, you should stop using your drive hard immediately in order not to replace the data that you are trying to recover.  He slave on another PC and launch the recovery of this PC.  Even now you have definitely lost some of them if you use the same PC.  If you can not do this (slave on another PC), you run the risk of overwriting the data with every action you do on the PC (but you may still be able to recover some or most or even all files - it's a matter of luck).

Only you can decide if the data is important enough to take the PC to an expert data recovery to recover files (they will have better programs and hardware to do that none of us do, and I've provided above).  Do NOT go to the Geek Squad or one of these centers of store-, they generally don't know what they are doing - it take for expert data recovery.  It will cost you a little and they generally offer no guarantees.  The decision is yours.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Please be very descriptive.  need help now

    Hello rokr676,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Community Forum.

One of the easiest ways to transfer files is to use Windows easy transfer.

Windows Easy Transfer is installed with Vista and is found under Accessories - tools system or by searching for "easy" (with the quotes).

You can transfer files and settings using a network share, or transfer files and settings using removable media such as CD/DVD or external hard drive. Windows Easy Transfer does not migrate installed applications.

Using Windows Easy Transfer, you can migrate most of the files and the program settings. The following table describes the types of data and parameters that can be moved.

    Data type
    Specifications

Files and folders We can choose to be automatically moved all the files found in the folder My Documents, my pictures and Shared Documents. You can also add other documents located in other places. The messages and settings E-mail messages, contacts, settings, account and address books from Outlook Express, Outlook, Windows Mail and other programs. The program settings Programs that are compatible with Vista will have their settings transferred to the new computer. So that this works, the program must already be installed on the computer running Vista. User settings Desktop settings, color, screen savers, fonts settings, options Windows, printers, etc. Settings Internet Favorites, cookies, and Internet Explorer settings. Photos, videos and music The music files, playlists and album. Images (gif, jpg, bmp files) and personal videos.
    Manually transfer:
Open a session with the new user account that you may have created. To ensure that this new user account has administrator privileges.

Open Explorer > organize > folder and Search Options > view tab > check show the hidden files and folders > OK to save the settings.

Now navigate to your C:\Users\(Old Username folder) and copy all the files and folders in the folder C:\Users\(Old Username) in the C:\Users\(New Username folder).

If please reply back and let us know if this helped with your question or if you need assistance.

A simple way is to move the file to the Public folder.
Public folder is accessible by all users.

  • Copy some files from one user to another

    Hello!

How can I copy (not share) some files from one user to another?

The reason for this is because we rename users to other allocation model.

    Thank you!

You must share the folders you want to transfer the ownership of the new username, or one responsibility that the new user has (I guess that's an Oracle Applications EUL). The user connects to Discoverer more with their new name. They open the workbook (s) and then do a SAVE AS. Who will save the workbook with them as the new owner. You must then sign with the old name of the owner and to delete these old files (after the first backup them) once you are sure that everything works fine. Yes, it is a nasty process. What we do is we use a "dummy" username when we create/modify the workbooks. In this way the fictional user name is the owner of the workbooks. So, it does not matter if a person leaves or if you change the user naming conventions. If you have many users to create cabinets, then a dummy user name doesn't quite work. You could always submit an enhancement request to Oracle for a copy function. I hope that you will get a lot of customers to support such a request.

    Hi all
I have a problem regarding the transfer of files please help. My problem is there is two files a SHIPMENT and another is the Inbox in a m/c. I want to move/transfer of files from the Inbox Outbox using codes/PL/SQL procedure. Is this possible?
If possible please tell me how?

There is no syntax to move several files at once. You move each file individually and have a loop that goes through the files that you want to move.

If you do not know the contents of the source directory, which complicates life. The package UTL_FILE does not tell you which files exist in a directory. I prefer a Java stored procedure to list the contents of a directory-Tom has a [example of Java stored procedure | http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0:P11_QUESTION_ID:439619916584]. You can also call a DBMS_SCHEDULER shell script to get a list of directories.

I'd be a little curious as to why you use PL/SQL to move files from a directory on a database server to another directory on the same server where you also don't know the names of the files that you are moving. This seems like something a little strange to PL/SQL.

You can transfer photos, but lose the history, etc. by exporting an import in another - the only way to really move photos between libraries keep everything is to use the paid version of PowerPhotos which has many other features and is a utility that is recommended to have with Photos

You will need to take ownership of the files if you do not have permission to copy files. You need to do when running Windows Explorer as an administrator.

  • Get the message 'IT CAN BE PLASTER TO TO SO' during transfer of files from one folder to another.

    Original title: FILES

DRAGGING FOLDER TO ANOTHER FILE HE WARNS NOW ME THAT IT MAY BE HARMFUL TO DO HOW DO I TU8RN THIS WARNING OFF I USED TO DO THIS WITHOUT A PROBLEM

    Hi RaymondSmith,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. Do you get this error message during the transfer of data to a specific folder or all folders?
    2. You did it all change important before the show?
    3. If you logged in with an administrator account?

According to the description issue you get a warning message while transferring files a form to another folder. This could be if some applications/service/third party startup item is triggering. It could also be if your system is affected by some virus/malware. The issue could also be from permission. So try to follow the steps below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

    Method 1

I suggest to perform the clean boot, then try to transfer files.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

    Method 2

I suggest you run a full scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSS) to ensure that the computer is virus-free.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner free is a downloadable security tool that allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

  • Dual boot, how to transfer programs and files from one XP installation to another?

Due type virus problems and the inability to get things working properly after I finally removed them, I tried to repair windows xp by using the disc that came with the computer (Systemax). Apparently, I managed to rInstaller windows xp pro with the new version under windows.0 and the old version under windows. The new windows.0 boots and is beautifully, and I can find with my old programs and data files. Unfortunately, none of the old programs seem to be accessible. I can reinstall most of them, but what a chore. I can not even the old windows at startup (it literally takes over half an hour) and many programs take a long time to come, if they. Virtually unusable.

What can I do to have access to the previous programs using the new installation of windows xp pro, so I can simply remove the old windows entirely or at least not do it as an option whenever I start.

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that you have made a parallel installation on the system (installed a new operating system on the same partition), we recommend only if a person has to back up files/data that is present on the system.

You cannot transfer programs in this way and we do not recommend you to have two operating systems on the same partition. I suggest you to save files which and records that are important and then do a format clean installation of Windows XP on the system.

Unfortunately, you need to install the programs on the system in order to to use.

I suggest you to check the article mentioned below.
