  You can transfer files on Mac as normal files. But the application may not be transferred.

  You have to buy the latest version. If you purchase the subscription, you can get that for both platforms.

I need guidance... I have Adobe Acrobat 9 enbedded in the work process that I use and it works great... I am a frugal man, and do not want to buy new or different Adobe Acrobat SW just because I still find an operational installation program.  How to get off this meeting happy tour and get my software installed on the new PC?

  Acrobat 8 is quite old and is not compatible with Windows 10.

  Right-click on any PDF file & follow the steps in the screenshot below.

  1) open with-> choose default program

  

  (2) select "Acrobat 9 Standard" & check the option below "always use the program selected to open this type of file".

  

  Click OK to confirm.

  This will make Acrobat 9 your default PDF Viewer.

  I can't change to remove the key from your software. Please do so immediately.

  Usually uninstall you on the system (after deactivation) and then install it on the other system (and activate). Should you save your download (it seems that it is what you were doing) on a CD or another device of backup for the future. Just use this media on the new system.

  A single license for Adobe software allows you to install the software on two computers. However, you can use the software on a single computer at any given time.

  If you want to install the software on a third computer, deactivate the software on the computer on which you will no longer use the software. Then, activate the software on the new computer. Uninstalling the software does not disable it.

  You must disable the software first by going to the "Help" menu in Acrobat and choose "disable".

  You can then go ahead and install Acrobat 9 standard on your other computer and activate with serial number.

  But make sure you follow the instructions on the page before you start the download.

  But Acrobat 8 Pro and Standard installers are different so pro trial version cannot be used to install and license Standard version.

  Your license will work for the Windows version and it is too old to qualify for a swap of platform (I don't know if it is a Mac version of standard far in the back - I think that there is for Windows).

  There is no transfer as such, but a turn off and reinstall it on the new system. The problem, you do face with AA8 is it is probably not certified for the new system, particularly Win8 (32 or 64 bit). The specific operating system is a problem. To be sure, the only way is to try to install AA8 and then perform updates (if the installation is successful). You will probably find that the printer Adobe PDF and AcroTray do not install or work. In this case, you need to create PDF files through a work-around (creating a new Adobe PDF printer with a PostScript driver for another printer and affecting the FILE port). The key is if Acrobat itself and Distiller work. Then, you can possibly make some corrections, but not perfect.

  Depending on your situation, you can upgrade to AA XI. Unfortunately, you will need to purchase the full product since AA8 is not a product registered for the upgrade (need at least AA9).
