Transfer/copy between projects

Hi, can I transfer/copy designs from one project to another project? Thank you.

I don't think that you can not copy/paste as such, but you can fork a project and strip the layers far as you want, then continue to work from these duplicated items.

(Theres a function to copy something to the Clipboard, but I don't think that you cannot paste within the app)

  • Shadow copy between 2 vCenters Using OVF export?

I have a vCloud I'm expanding to include a second vCenter.  The problem is that shadow copies use the function of transfer service (export model OVF) which is much slower than a copy of the regular file.  Specifically, I have a template that exists on:

    ProviderVdc1 (vCenter1)-> ResourcePool1-> Datastore1

    and deploy:

    ProviderVdc2 (vCenter2)-> ResourcePool2-> Datastore2

When the deployment is happening, vCenter begins a model "Export OVF" task to send the model on the second vCenter.  Then, the shadow copy is created on vCenter2.  It is a very slow process.  I made sure all the ESX hosts in vCenter2 have a data store that is configured to connect to Datastore1, and all ESX hosts in vCenter1 have a data store that is configured to connect to Datastore2 as well.  Best practices guide (http://blogs.vmware.com/performance/2012/01/vmware-vcloud-director-15-performance-and-best-practices.html) explains how to avoid this scenario, when creating shadow copy between 2 provider TDC in the vCenter even, but it is not really clear what is possible when the occultation through vCenters.

A moment to be clear on, ESX VC2 guests have a data store configured in vSphere to interconnect to Datastore1, but in vCloud Director ResourcePool2 does not include the Datastore1 as a data store is valid, it can deploy to.

Has anyone worked around the Export OVF method when shadowing between vCenters?

It's pretty much the nature of the defect, because referenced objects are in two databases separate vCenter.  The only way for the vCD move data is to export it and import it.  In fact, I covered the cases of three uses in the present statutes:

    http://www.chriscolotti.us/VMware/gotcha-vCloud-Director-Clone-Wars-part-1-Overview/

    http://www.chriscolotti.us/VMware/info-vCloud-Director-Clone-Wars-update/

Although you are referencing the VM of the shadow, the process is indeed a process CLONE so the same rules I documented would apply to this shadow VM is created.

  • Import/export slides between projects

    Guy

I use cp5 and that you do not find the feature to share the slides between projects? It's certainly there on previous versions - can anyone help?

    Spiersey

    Hello

CP5 has a MDI (Multiple Display Interface), that's why the devs decided to abandon the slides import/export during this total reconstruction of CP and to focus on more important aspects. You can open the two files and copy and paste between them easily. It is also possible to copy and paste the master slides, and you can still use an external library. In previous versions, you can only open a document in the CP.

  • Cannot copy between SMB sharing folders

    Hello

We have 40-50 Mac that connect to a share on a file of Yosemite server. Recently, several users have reported that they are unable to copy between two subfolders in the same proportion. A message saying "unable to connect to the server because the name or password is incorrect". However, if they first copy the file on their local office then download it authorized.

The permissions on the folder are great, I also tried their connection from another Mac information and once again it works. So I guess the question is on the Mac, the two users who reported the issue run El Capitan.

Ideas or explanations? AFP also works.

I think you must report it to Apple in the field of feedback. www.Apple.com/Feedback

I "think" Apple rewrote their code of samba to avoid licensing issues.

A workaround is to use the standard CIFS, older (using an earlier version of the SMB, probably means different security protocols).

What antivirus/antispyware/security products on machines do you have? Be one you have NEVER

Some of them can cause network problems and sometimes you need to uninstall one instead of just disable

Follow these steps for all machines:

It's my generic instructions for the correct driver updates: (you want mainly to update NETWORK and WiFi card drivers).

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause

  • I can't play DVDs in Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 Pro and get this error msg: Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD drive decoder and video card protection.

Hello, thanks for reading and helping me.

I try to play a legitimate, belonging to DVD, but Windows Media Player 12 will not play on my computer Windows 7 Professional.  The DVD worked a few days ago, but all of a sudden, I get the following error message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

I did a lot of research of these forums and on the ' net.  Here are the suggested steps I tried without success:

    • I tried VLC player.  This works.  However, rather than use this workaround, I wish to find a solution to my problem WMP/WMC.
    • I tried several DVD for years over the last decade.  These DVD works on my laptop, also running Windows 7 Professional and the shark 007 codec.
    • I uninstalled my Shark 007 codec
    • I tried other codecs (K-Lite)
    • I assured that the latest drivers are installed on my video card, XFX ATI Radeon 5850
    • I tried to uninstall Nero 9
    • I tried to use the Windows 7 troubleshooting options:
    • > Reading and burning CD, DVD and Blu - ray (no problem)
    • > Windows Media Player DVD (no problem)
    • > Windows Media Player Settings (detects a problem, wants to restore factory settings, every time, no matter what happens)
    • A system restore to a time when the DVD was working did not resolve the issue
    • The different links in Microsoft, I found in this forum about this problem do not seem to be useful.  There is a link that points to the set-top boxes, but this page just says: "Windows 7 comes with a decoder.
    • I assured the latest driver is available by going to "Device Manager", right click on the drive, then click on "update driver software".
    • I assured that the latest firmware is installed directly from the manufacturer's website.
    • I tried to reset my DRM by renaming the DRM under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows folder and by going to this Web site to upgrade:http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1
    • I've uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Media Player 12 and Windows Media Center via the function "functionality in Windows.

I would be very grateful if a Microsoft technology could chime.  Thanks for your help!
