Transfer from XP to Windows 7

Replaces my old XP computer with a new Windows 7 it.  How can I transfer the Garmin s/w & connection?

Check with Garmin to see if they offer the Windows 7 software and instructions on the use of their material in Windows 7.

  • Files and settings transfer from XP to Windows 7

I backed up my XP pc files by using the USMT.  I just installed windows 7 pro on that same pc and I do not see an available USMT to restore the settings.  I did not use the transfer function.  Is it possible to restore my files and settings that are from my XP pc currently stored on an external drive to my Windows 7 environment?  the function of easy transfer on Windows 7 does not recognize the file created by the USMT.

USMT is really intended for migration from the company. For stand-alone users, you must use Windows Easy Transfer during the migration to Windows XP:

  • settings of electronic mail of transfer from xp to windows live mail

    (1) yesterday, I transferred the information on my old computer with xp operating system on my new computer with the windows operating system 7.  I used the easy transfer cable and software.  All files and the e-mail settings transferred to the new computer with the exception of my wife's e-mail account and all of its files in the outlook express account.  I need to know how can I transfer records of Live mail e-mail.  There were two e-mail accounts in outlook express.  My mail transferred and direct files (and folders) synchronized eyerything in storage folders.  Profile of my wife has not transferred, nor has any records.

    (2) in outlook express when I opened my e-mail foler has asked that my login and password and my wife and I had different identities.  When I logged in, only my folders (storage records) have been posted.   Now on live mail all my files storage are still displayed even if my wife is to check his e-mail.  How can I set up direct mail so my wife and I have unique identities and when we opened our e-mail accounts that our individual records are displayed.

If you want a better answer, thank you for posting this question in the Windows Live forum.

  • Easy transfer from Xp to Windows 7 32. Not all profiles appear as a choice.

I'm migrating a person from a computer with XP 32 bit to a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit.

The user is an administrator on both machines. When I run on the new computer, the end-user profile does not appear as a choice.

Administrator and my account appear (I am an administrator on all) and the profile of shared appear as choices.

I don't see what I'm missing. Anyone got any ideas?

    Pretty much, Yes.

Make sure to close the comments before you copy - not simply suspended.  Copy the entire directory/folder.  You * may * need to change specific to the host/hardware devices (such as serial, floppy drive ports).  Power and see if there is any warning messages / devices.  Other than that, yes it should work properly... which is one of the great advantages of virtual machines!

  • How can I transfer files from XP to windows 8?

There is a download of easy transfer from XP to Windows 7, but nothing for Windows 8

    Hello

With the help AND under Windows 7 is very similar Windows 8 but the main features are different.

You are not reading and respecting the links posted in the first post.

Move your files, Favorites and settings<- this="">
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/move-files#1TC=T1

Here's how to use Windows Easy Transfer:

When you are finished, you can see a report of what was transferred, as well as what Windows was not able to move. To view the report, on your new PC, search for Windows Easy Transfer reports in your applications using the search of charm.

    Notes

    • Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from a 64-bit version of Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. In this case, you need to move your files manually.

    • If your old PC is running Windows Vista or Windows XP, you will be walked Windows Easy Transfer installation as part of the transfer process.

    Hello

    Some clarification would be useful.

What type of file you have?

What do you do with it?

The easiest way might use dropbox or onedrive. Or you want to change the file on the iPad?

MP3-files are also. And with iTunes you can copy those dear to your iPad too.

  • Move from vista to windows 7 on the same computer. Is it necessary to make a "transfer"?

I'm doing an upgrade on my computer from vista to windows 7.

Am a little confused about the need to "transfer" of data to an external source.

What is a precautionary measure, used to retrieve the data if something terrible happens?

Or is it that, after the upgrade to windows 7, the data is then "transferred", back on the computer newly improved?

Windows Update has nothing to with the upgrade of Windows. • Easy transfer from Windows xp to windows 7 has not transferred my files on my computer

I re-installed Windows XP and would like to re - install my files located on an external drive.  I read a post from a few years with a similar problem and the answering machine says ' see if XP will read the file ' what command or process is necessary to achieve this?

Yet once, how this is related to the Windows Update feature?

After you "gave up trying to upgrade to windows 7", did you do a clean install of Windows XP or...?
