transfer of bookmarks in version 7.0.1 version 3.6.20
I'm transferring my favorites Firefox to version 7.0.1 (on my laptop) to Firefox version 3.6.20 (on my desktop). How can I do this? I tried export / import my favorites via html using a memory stick, but it did not work. Someone knows how to do this, or even if it is possible?
Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks in Firefox 7.0.1 on your laptop, put the file bookmarks.html on a memory stick and then import bookmarks in HTML file in Firefox 3.6.20 on your desktop should work.
Here's another way:
Restore backup bookmarks or move them to another computer
In Firefox 7 on your laptop, save a backup of bookmarks file, which will be named "bookmarks - < current date > .json ' (e.g., bookmarks-2011-10 - 14.json) then save it to a memory stick. In Firefox 3.6 on the desktop, use the restaurant and the option 'Choose file' and select the backup that you have placed on the memory stick.
If you have problems with the memory stick, you can also try emailing the bookmarks backup file yourself, save it to your desktop or another location and then restore it.

This must be one of the most common problems that people encounter. We receive all new computers every so often, and we all need to keep the old bookmarks when we get a new computer and install the new browser.
I feel that I must be among the small minority of people who do not know how to proceed. My old computer is not dead, she's just older (he uses XP). I kept around until I have all the data out. Any help in doing this would be greatly appreciated.
I am now using Windows 7.
There are several ways you can do this:
You can set up Firefox Sync for syncing between computers.
Edition-> Preferences-> Sync... OR Preferences-> Preferences-> Sync...
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/how-do-i-set-up-Firefox-sync
Advantages: Easy to use, once set up, keeps several devices synced
Cons: Harder to define, requires Internet access, keep track of "Firefox Sync Key."You can export/import favorites
Bookmarks-> show all bookmarks-> import and backup->...
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/export-Firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
Benefits: Easier to transfer one time, can be done "offline".
Cons: Maintain multiple devices synchronized in this way can be time consuming and possibly confuse / boring -

- NOW open the saved bookmarks file (it will open in the default Web browser)-> when the file opens, print the page.
-> The name of your favorite folders will be bold.
Check and tell if its working.

How can I transfer my bookmarks in Safari when updating to El Capitan?
I am about to Lion 10.7.5 OSX update to the latest version of El Capitan and don't want to lose my bookmarks in Safari. I did 2 backups. Any tips? Thank you!
You can save the plist file contains it bookmarks somewhere on the external storage. Usually the responsible for all bookmarks file is located in a home directory / library / Safari. To access your user library folder, click finder. Looking for top menu 'Go '. Hold down the option key until the library folder appears on the list. Open this folder. Find the folder in Safari. Open it and find the file named "Bookmarks.plist". Copy this file to the external hard drive.

How can I transfer Firefox bookmarks on computers with a DVD?
I have just built a new computer and I do not know how to transfer all my favorite Firefox from my old computer to my new. The old computer works, but the only way I have to connect the two is through a CD, DVD or external hard drive. Therefore, to transfer my favorites, I need to know if there is a convenient way to copy them to the removable storage that I can then use to reinstall on Firefox on my new computer. I think that this procedure is so common that there is probably a medium setting to do so. Thank you for your attention.
Click on bookmarks > show all bookmarks.
Import and backup > export to HTML
Save the file where it will be easy for you to access.
You can simply send to yourself in an e-mail or transfer it via a flash drive.
When you get the file on your new computer
bookmarks > show all bookmarks
Backup and import > import bookmarks HTML -

It was supposed to be a simple operation, lol. I tried right click and left click everything to nothing does not.
The import function is not on the main menu. In Firefox, you should go to bookmarks-> show all bookmarks, or press ctrl + shift + b. In the toolbar of the signet library, there is an import button that allows you to import from other browsers.

I'm transferring my files to an HP laptop to a Dell because the crushed HP desktop computer. I installed Firefox 8 in the Dell computer (I got the Firefox 5 - I believe - in the HP). I'm looking for the old bookmarks file in the old computer, but I can't find them. Where are they? I'll appreciate your help because I had a very good collection of bookmarks. Unfortunately I didn't save them from time to time.
Well, you were able to recover your files. I don't know where you have saved your files, but you can use the search function and search your favorites using this search term "bookmark *.» *«. It should be very probably a JSON extension file.
Once you find the file, use this link to help restore backups.
I hope this helps.
