  You can go to Site > Manage Sites > export to create files .ste with your settings to be imported into the new version of the site. This way your info ftp and other site specific parameters will meet instantly, rather than having to create new definitions of site by hand.

  Other that that, there really nothing that needs to be done for CC to understand your old files.

  When installing CC, make sure you click on the advanced settings in the Installer link and disable "Remove older Versions". You can easily have CS5 and installed CC at the same time to make the transition less sharp. There are some pretty big changes between CS5 and CC can take you awhile to get under your belt. Have the old version will allow you to continue to work with something that you know while you do the adjustment with the new software.

  CC has more Spry example, if whatever it is done using the framework Spry will no longer offer that you dialogue windows when you want to change. You will need to either open the old program or switch to the jQuery version (if it is available in the DW interface). It won't 'break' your Spry effects, it just will not allow you to change from the windowed interface (adjustments should be coded manually or in the old software).

  I have Dreamweaver CS5.5.  I encounter the following problem with the hopes that you can help me.

  I'm putting the site via FTP files to a remote server (Go Daddy).

  I already had the entire site.  Now that I had to modify some pages, I can't put the site published to Go Daddy.

  While I can connect via FTP with Go Daddy, I click the Put button, it goes through all the files indicating "successful" - but when I check the site on the internet, the modified version of the site does not appear - the original version of the site stays.

  I contacted Go Daddy, they examined and confirmed that all of the information for the Site > manage > edit window is correct (i.e. server name, address FTP, username, password, root directory), but when I put the files (except for 1 single file I have through), they do not receive the files on their end and they cannot understand why.  Go Daddy concludes that the problem lies in the performance of Dreamweaver.

  I did some of the following:

  Root directory: public_html /.

  Enable Cache

  Passive FTP mode

  and I've tried a variety of combinations, but nothing has worked.

  There is something essential that I'm missing? Something? that I should check?  Help, please.

  Use Filezilla entire websites to the server. You can see exactly what is happening, and if a file or two fail to get - a common occurrence - you can put them after the break.

  I only use FTP of the DW to a single file or handles of files that I've just updated (for example, edit the image files, etc.). If I have a site with 12 000 files, I need to have the peace of mind that everything will be properly implemented and Filezilla gives you that.

• Dreamweaver CS5 losers quit/launch FTP details

  Hello

  I have a bug that is driving me crazy and I'd love someone to suggest a solution!

  Basically Dreamweaver CS5 has begun to lose some FTP usernames and passwords every time I left (I'm on Mac OS X latest version)... The other guys in the office even get on CS4 too.

  We believe that it is a link corrupted between Dreamweaver and Keychain passwords are still there... import site def toured, although the details are still lost when I left.

  Any ideas would be great... I have submitted a request for help from Adobe too but have not ever heard talk about them in the past... fingers crossed that I'm slowly going mad!

  Hey there - we had the same problems and fix the Mac OS X Keychain (followed by a reboot) of the files made difficulty and restore all the settings of our FTP site. It was also discussed by various other messages of the forum with mixed reviews or results. But I recommend you try the following:

  1 quit Dreamweaver.

  2 launch the Keychain Access application.

  3. Select the keychain first aid (check and repair).

  4 restart your Mac.

  I think currently to a subscription of the CC to Dreamweaver so that I can redesign a site, but the customer maintains and updates their content and will not be upgraded. Can they change their website using Dreamweaver CS5 once I have start to edit files in Dreamweaver CC?

  Dreamweaver is a glorified text editor and as such can be used to edit HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, XML and a bunch of other documents. The reason why I say this is because, regardless of the structure of a Web site, any version of Dreamweaver allows to change it. Where the difference is where it allows you to use the deprecated code or where it guides you to use contemporary code.

  In short, Yes, your customer can continue to use CS5

  I'm downloading a new site FTP of Muse on the former site of the FTP of Dreamweaver. It downloads fine, but the old pages of HTML in Dreamweaver are still on the site. Although not visible in a browser they are always picked up by the search engines. How can I go about removing the old HTML Dreamweaver pages?

  Just upload another like FileZilla FTP client and manage the site.

  Not sure on the news of ftp but with regard to registration a new document, you don't have to save as a new document, you can over write the old one if you wish. The reason why is because it's once you register in the new version, you can longer open in an older version of Muse. By saving it as a new document, you can have a backup in case something does not work in the new version of your site or if someone you work with it has not upgraded. But you can safe a little longer to write the current muse file in most cases.

  Answer: Dreamweaver does not migrate the self-sites - you must export them before upgrading, and then import them after the upgrade.

  in this thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/582456 mhollis55 said that the creation of a site map is removed from CS4. In my CS5 I couldn't find these functions nor, I found this feature in my old CS3 (!) however. Here are some links where you can create a site map:

  "Selected" default mode LOCAL files are deleted when I select REMOTE for deleting files. REMOTE files remain, the LOCAL files are irreversibly removed forever.

  My request for time to devote to fixing this problem was rejected by management. I am at a loss and have nowhere to go now - I am also attached using Dreamweaver CS5.

  Adobe are aware of this bug and it will address in there next update.

  There is a simple work around where you don't have to change views.

  (1) select the remote file, the files or folders you want to work with.

  2) click on the Refresh button at the top of the files Panel.

  (3) select the remote file, the file or folder you want to work with again.

  (4) make a right click and choose 'delete '.

  #1, try the FTP mode passive switching power in the definition of your remote server site.

  

  #2 with the exception of a handful of gaming sites, Flash is a web technology dead.  It is not taken care of by iPhone, iPad, iTouch, Android, etc...  I don't recommend to use Flash for anything these days.  Better to use HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS level 3.

  Your site is correctly set with the correct FTP credentials & root directory?  You can download files to the folder root bad in which case they won't be visible to the public.   Root directory varies depending on the hosting plan.  If in doubt what to use, contact the host of the site.   See screenshots.

  I have Dreamweaver CS5, update last night, now it's CS5.5, program runs OK but I can no longer download, ftp, to my sites.

  When I click on connect I get a message indicating an error of internal data. What should I do?

  I don't know either of these programs, but they should have no effect on the FTP of Dreamweaver functionality. Dreamweaver has its own built-in FTP client.

  I can't explain why it will not be updated, but the 11.0.4 updater had a critical fix for SFTP: Adobe - Dreamweaver Support Center: Updaters. Before trying to install, check the current version of Dreamweaver you are using. On Windows, see help > about Dreamweaver. On a Mac, go to Dreamweaver > about Dreamweaver. The credits screen will tell you the version at the top number left.

  You say you want to be able to update Dreamweaver. The only way to do this is to subscribe to the creative cloud. Your version of Dreamweaver is older than 5 years, is no longer supported by Adobe and will never get any other beyond 11.0.4 updates.
