transfer the license from vista to windows 8

Previously the company that I worked bought the creative suite CS2, (mainly I use photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, indesign, and acrobat pro). It was a legitimate legal purchase and I was the only designer, then it was purchased because of me.  I often worked from home so I installed a second copy on my pc at home in addition to my work pc, which I understand was also legal.  I am now looking at my home pc to upgrade vista to windows 8 and would like to transfer the software.  Is this possible?

Thank you

Kurt

  • Hi, I have a problem in the installation, how to install acrobat 8.1 pro in 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise is existing in Windows XP.  I just want to transfer the license Adobe pro 8 Windows 7 64 bit. What is the procedure?

Hi, I have a problem in the installation, how to install acrobat 8.1 pro in 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise is existing in Windows XP.  I just want to transfer the license Adobe pro 8 Windows 7 64 bit. What is the procedure?

You need to install 8 AA on the new OS with your current S/N (the license allows 2 installs). After the installation, do all the updates if you expect any chance of 8 AA to run on the system. If the updates will be installed not in the menu help, then go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/ and install updates in the order. People seem to have been successful with 32 - bit systems and some have reported success with a 64 bit system. After installation, print something to the Adobe PDF printer to make sure it works. If this works, you should be in good shape as printing treat the bottleneck. There is a solution, but you shouldn't have it.

If all works well, then go back to the old machine and disable this installing and uninstalling. Don't forget that your configuration is not supported by Adobe. It seems with every new version of Windows, MS seeks to make the user to upgrade the other hardware and software for compatibility. There may be legitimate reasons for this action, but the game just seems to be Ms.

  • The upgrade from Vista to Windows 7: How can I make sure that I keep Microsoft Office

A few months back I took advantage of this offer to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 for a discounted price. After that I downloaded the upgrade file, Upgrade Advisor told me that because I'm using Vista business and I was upgrade 7, that my computer would probably be home must pass through with a 'clean install', thus wiping my hard drive.

That's fine with me, I could just move my documents and Favorites on an external hard drive. But I'm afraid that the upgrade will be wipe my Microsoft Office programs.

I bought this computer a few years ago. I don't even know if I bought the program with office bundled with it, or if I bought it separately (and probably the discs are somewhere in storage).

How can I make this update without losing Microsoft Office? Is it possible to confirm if my word has come with my computer or if I installed it separately. If it came with it, and I lose it, certainly there must be a free way for me to recover. Right?

Any other advice for someone planning on the upgrade?

    Thank you!

You're the one who knows if you installed Office.

Office (Word, etc.) comes for free with Windows. you have to buy.

If Office is preinstalled, it was a test.

A clean installation will wipe everything.

    You cannot transfer programs.

It needs to be reinstalled from the original media.

Also how can I find the Product Code I used?

    Thank you!

"Is it true that I should be able to use this Code produces up to 3 times on my own personal computer?"

    Laughing out loud

A single license is a single Installation.

How many times can I install Windows on my computer before I have to activate Windows again?

You can reinstall Windows on the same computer as many times as you want because activation pairs product key of Windows with information about your computer hardware. If you make a significant hardware change, you might need to activateWindows once again

If Vista is preinstalled on your computer, or you purchased a download OEM license, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

  • After the OS from Vista to Windows 7 upgrade, lost bookmarks. Could they be somewhere in "windows.old"?

    Hello

I upgraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7 and lost bookmarks, I had in Firefox. Back up my documents files and they are OK. Unfortunately, I don't think to back up my Firefox bookmarks.html file.

However, I did the upgrade of the operating system from the disk and a "windows.old" folder has been created which seems to have a lot of my old files, applications, and others, but I can't find "bookmarks.html" in the firefox folder or in my user folder.

Is there another place in windows.old where bookmarks could be, or a different file name, it may be under?

Please help, there are a few important bookmarks that I lost and which were accumulated over several years.

    Thank you!

Firefox has not used the file bookmarks.html for storage of bookmark since the release of Firefox 2. You need a JSON bookmark backup file or the file places.sqlite. See this:

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile

Your old profile is located here in Windows Vista and Win7:

    drive: \Users\Windows login user name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile_name

You may need to display 'files and hidden folders' in Win7 to be able to access the Firefox profile in windows.old files and the new installation of the OS.

  • Copy the Contacts from Vista to Windows 7 Contacts Possible?

I have a new desktop under Windows 7 Home Premium. Before the death of my old desktop (Vista 32 Home Premium), I was able to copy my Contacts folder to a backup drive. Is Vista comes in contact with the same type of file as Windows 7 contacts? Is it possible to copy contacts from Vista to Windows 7 contacts folder? If this is not the case, how would I go about importing the contacts? Thank you!

    Hi Fallstar,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site.

You can import the information book or contact address of several formats used by other programs, convert them for use in this version of Windows and store them in your Contacts folder. You can also convert your contacts to other formats by exporting. Allows you to share them with people who use an earlier version of Windows or a different operating system.

However, you must download Windows Live Mail in order to perform the steps listed in method 1. To download windows live mail on windows 7 click on the link below.

    Windows Live Mail

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=56883de5-2024-4631-806e-757693072a1c#requirements

After installing windows live mail follow method 1.

    Method 1:

Follow the steps mentioned below to import contacts.

    1. open Windows Contacts by clicking on the button start then on your user name. Type of contacts in the address bar and press ENTER.

    2. on the toolbar, click Import, and then click one of the following formats to import contacts from:

o CSV (Comma Separated Values). It is a format of generic file used to export and import information to and from databases or spreadsheets. If you can't import an address book file directly into Windows Contacts, try everything first convert to a CSV file and then import this file.

o LDIF (LDAP server). This format is used to import information from LDAP directory servers directory.

o vCard (VCF file). This is the most widely used contacts format.

o the Windows address book file (Outlook Express contacts). This format (.wab file) is used by most earlier versions of Windows, including Windows XP.

    3. click on import, locate the contacts file you want to import, and then click Open. The new contacts should appear in your Contacts folder.

If you can't find the contacts file you want to import, see the documentation provided with the program that created the contacts or visit the manufacturer's website. You will need to export contacts from the program before you can import them into Windows Contacts.

    4. when a message appears telling you that the contacts import process has completed, click OK and then click Close.

For more information, see the article mentioned below.

Import, export, or change the format for contacts

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/import-export-or-change-the-format-for-contacts

    Or follow method 2.

    Method 2:

    1. in Vista, navigate to the folder C:\Users\(user name) \Contacts , and then copy all your contacts and groups of contacts to something (ex: DVD, USB drive, etc.) to copy in Windows 7.

(2 in Windows 7, copy the Vista contacts and groups of contacts in the folder C:\Users\(user name) \Contacts .

    Hope this information is useful.

    Thanks and regards.

  • Is it possible to transfer the license from a desktop to a laptop, then again occasionally?

    Hello!
I bought a license for the Creative Suite 4 several years ago. I use it on my desktop at home and would like to be able to transfer the license on my laptop to continue working while traveling. Is it possible to transfer the license easily from desktop to laptop and come back whenever I want?
If so, how does this work?
    Thanks in advance

There he had to do.  Your license allows you to have two active. facilities, so that you can install and activate on both machines.  As long as you do not use both at the same time you are good to go.

  • transfer of files from vista to windows 8.1

I see I can't use Windows Easy Transfer.  I backed up everything on the external hard drive.  Y at - it sort of just download everything from the external hard drive (using "restore", for example?) without crushing everything in the same programs in windows 8.1?  Or do I have to copy everything whole again, one by one?

    Hello

How to copy your data files from Vista to 8.1

    Vista machine:

Open the Windows Explorer in Vista (or Documents, music, images, etc.) > have a connected external hard drive or USB key > go to the files you want to transfer > right click on the files you want to transfer > hover the mouse on "send to" > select the external hard drive.

    8 machine:

Plug USB > open the file Explorer > copy files anywhere in the correct folders.

  • Transfer the license from one computer to another Lightroom supported?

    Hello

I have an old computer at home that I use to develop my photos. I bought the Lightroom license and now before I install, I want to know if this copy can be reinstalled and the license transferred to a new machine when I update my machine.

In addition, the number of computers can legally install the product?

    Raja

Yes. A single license of Lightroom allows you to install the program on two separate computers, Windows or Mac or both, but that a facility can be used at any time. If you buy a new computer, you can simply uninstall the program from your computer and install it in the new without violating the license agreement.
