  This will depend on when you switch to the different time zone.  Will travel you East or West?

• Time machine freezes when going back in time on a particular week

  I run ERD without problem, reset the permissions etc.

  FWIW, I've never had TM freeze. Rather than trying to understand what happened, I would erase the TM drive and let it do a new, full backup. I don't think I would try to make backup on separate partitions. I try to avoid any possible confusion. In my own world, I have two external TM HD partitions (in addition to other partitions that contain bootable clones, among others). The backup on them alternating system (it's a framework, I recall).

• my computer guard reboot changes back several times after the installation of Service pack 2 on Vista.

  Given that repair options did not work for you.  I suggest you try the method below.

  Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk. Rename the Pending.xml file, and then change the registry notes read the following important notes before you use this troubleshooting method.   Hello, this is currently an issue in firefox when you close all firefox windows open first and then close the application subsequently - the bug should be addressed in a more recent version of firefox.

  a workaround in the meantime, you could close firefox (via firefox > quit) while the browser window is still running or try this: enter: config in the firefox address bar (confirm the message information where it appears) & search preference named browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash.   Thunderbird has no server to store messages on. Mail is stored on your local hard drive or your account is on the mail server. Sometimes both.
