  You can use it only on a Win computer. If you had CS6, you could do a platform Exchange but not with CS5. Here are the details of the exchanges of the platform:

  I am trying to install a copy of Lightroom 5 on my laptop.  I downloaded the program and I am trying to activate the license.  It does not accept my serial number found in my account list Adobe products.  I installed a 2nd copy on the laptop before, but am trying to date it.  I understand that the license allows installation on 2 devices.  What should I do now?

  My guess is you downloaded a trial version of the creative Cloud version and your perpetual license will not activate it. Uninstall and download the latest version of LR 5 from the link below. Scroll down to locate your product.

  Hello

  You will be not able to do that, Creative Suite is locked on one operating system, then the license must be exchanged if you want the OS and install it on Mac.

  The only options are to purchase a second license for CS5 or upgrade to CC (which can be installed on WIN & MAC as they are not platform specific)

  Exchange a product for a different version of the language or platform
