Trial of CS5 WinXP64 with GTX260 no hardware acceleration?

Hello world!

I can't have hardware acceleration in the trial version PS CS5 Extended that I just installed on my work machine.

I have a 64-bit computer to Windows XP, with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 graphics card.

I installed the trial version of PS CS5.  In Preferences > performance, the GPU settings box is grayed out. The description says that graphic hardware acceleration is unavailable.  "You need to update your video driver and, possibly, your video card."

I know that the GTX 260 is taken into charge-it works fine on my home machine, which is Win7.

I installed the latest nvidia version 197.45 drivers.  No change.  I even uninstalled the nvidia drivers, did a cleanup of the drivers in safe mode with Driver Sweeper, according to another post here and reinstalled the latest nvidia drivers.  Still no change.

Any ideas?  Is it because I'm running winxp64?

Thanks a lot for your help!

  • CS5 Benchmark with PPBM4

This is a double post here many readers don't necessarily read the Hardware forum

Prejudice CS5 benchmark with PPBM4 beta is now available!  WOW!  And all this improvement without CUDA graphics card so when we see the Mercury playback engine additional improvement is sure to appear.  Adobe must have hired a great team/expert multithreading.  Congratulations Adobe.  It must have hurt the performance of disk slightly, but that is a small trifle.  He has reduced his time coding MPEG under CS4 24.6 seconds to 6.4 seconds in CS5, near 200% faster!

Yes there will probably be a new PPBM5 and when it will include H.264 Blu - ray encoding and will have a segment of AVCHD.  Because I don't have CS5, you may have to wait a while.

  • Problem with fonts. If enable hardware acceleration "BOLD" fonts look weird, but if I turn it off, "BOLD" fonts seem good, but normal fonts look weird

    Title.

With hardware acceleration: http://imgur.com/jHRk6Yl words 'empty' look and really weird air instead of being "BOLD". But if I disable it, normal fonts look "weird" in some Web sites (not all) and are difficult to read.
    Any solution?

Hmm, another user Windows 10 reported this after installing some Helvetica fonts.

In your screenshot, the text 'blue indicated' is the following style rule:

    font-family: "helvetica neue",arial,helvetica,sans-serif;

So I guess you have Helvetica Neue installed locally, which seems to have strange problems in Firefox.

If you don't want to remove this font on your system, you can use custom style rules for Firefox overrides Arial, which is what I see on Windows 7 on this page. I saw the first time that documented in this article (from 2010!):

    Hello

BCCode: 117 is generally a problem of display driver (video) If you need to update (check the system machine
and the sites of the manufacturer of the device. You will need to remove and reinstall your video card a PC and not
edge. Perhaps a replacement card is necessary.

If necessary you can perform in SafeMode with network - repeatedly F8 tap that you start.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause

  • Flash player does not work with hardware acceleration

That is to say 10 under Windows 7 (64-bit)

With a few navigation of this discussion forum, I came to this conclusion. When I disable hardware acceleration flash drive works fine, otherwise I get a black window instead of the video on facebook, for example. It was working fine a few days ago. I don't know when exactly the problem started, with the new flash player, or after some windows update.

Now, I tried flash player 10 as well but surprisingly its also giving same result. Cannot be said that the problem is equipped with drivers? Well, I also tried to install the latest drivers from the Dell site. Could you please help me to continue to use flash with hardware acceleration?

CS4 and CS5 Indy with the same serial number may be open both on the same machine?

    Thank you!

I wonder how you have two versions with the same serial number? Maybe volume license?

In the world of individual license an upgrade from versions CS4 CS5 would get a new number again, at least in my experience. With regard to the installation of multiple versions (but not different locations, such as the United States and TO the same version) no problem and I often open several versions at the same time to test and answereing questions here on the forum.
